Surrender this is such a wonderful praise report. How wonderful. I can relate, I traveled a road away from Him for awhile. What a mess I made of things. Anyway, so glad you are here with us... I pray we stay the course, with Him we can.

I'm so sorry I strayed
Hi Surrender62, welcome to CChat! :) Sometimes it breaks my heart to think of the stupid and sinful things that I did when was not walking in the truth that I knew, and I'm so sorry for those things, too.....but.. once we've made things right with God, we're the ones who still think about that part, not God. God forgives us and welcomes us back into His loving embrace.

I think that a certain amount of remembering will help us not to make the same bad choices again, but, at the same time there is sometimes a fine line between remembering and kicking ourselves over it and living in our regret. I do it too so that isn't meant as a sermon. Rather a gentle reminder (meant to be encouraging to you) that once we are forgiven and set free from our failings, we are free indeed. (John 8:36) Now we can rejoice in His freedom, and His forgiveness, and His great love together-- as well as make some new friends and enjoy some good fellowship. :D Again, welcome!

You are correct in saying that we are the ones who still may dwell on the stupid or sinful things we may have done in our past but not God. Once you confess your sin to God in His eyes you are now white as the driven snow and He remembers your sinful past no more.

Some may carry guilt from their past actions and perhaps once again confess what they have already confessed but since God no longer remembers these things He would have no idea what past sins are being referred to. Still, He will help in removing the guilt that would hinder the spiritual walk.

He wants us to have life and to have it more abundantly but that would be a hard thing for those who are suffering from guilt that should no longer be carried. Jesus carried our sin and guilt on the cross and shed His precious blood dying on the cross for the remission of sin. He paid the penalty and now we should be free to move forward in a positive physical and spiritual direction.
