It is done by allowing Christ to live through us by faith rather than doing the living ourselves through will power. The fruit of the Spirit is his fruit that comes as a result of letting God lead our thought life. We are dead and our life is hid in Christ.

Are you ok? If you need help, Jesus will send a helper. You just need to ask Him.

To walk in the Spirit the Believer must place and maintain their Faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross of Calvary where the victory was won which allows the Holy Spirit to accomplish this for us (Romans 8:2).

Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the LORD of Hosts (Zech. 4:6).

“Not by [human] might, nor by [human] power, but by My Spirit,” presents God’s Method of accomplishing His Work. Everything that has ever been done on this Earth, as it regards the Godhead, has been done by the Holy Spirit, with the exception of Christ and His Crucifixion; however, the Holy Spirit even superintended that from beginning to end [Lk. 4:18-19].

If it is claimed to be for the Lord, whatever is being done must be done by the Moving, Operation, Power, and Person of the Holy Spirit through Believers. Otherwise, it will not be recognized by God; in fact, it will be constituted as a “work of the flesh” [Rom. 8:1].”

“Says the LORD of Hosts,” presents God’s Supreme Personal Power over everything in the material and Spiritual universe. All is organized under His Command. As well, the word “Hosts,” as used here, is associated with warfare and relates to the word “armies.” In other words, He is the “LORD of Armies.”)”

Hate sin, and do not want sin, and then the Holy Spirit will lead you, for you do not want anything to do with the ways of the sinful flesh.

Do people think they are led of the Spirit if they engage in sin, for then they are led of the flesh, for the Spirit would not have them sin.

The Bible says if you are led of the Spirit you are not under the law, for a Spirit led life will not sin, and all their sins are forgiven, so the law cannot touch them for prosecution, because they are not breaking the law.

Some people think they are right with God despite them sinning, but then this scripture comes to mind.

Mat 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

What I do not understand is how do people that say they cannot abstain from sin, and sin daily, and sin does not affect their relationship with God think they have a right to tell people to clean up their act, for then they would be a hypocrite, for they cannot abstain from sin, so they are holding unto sin.

For people like that have no business going against anybody for their sins, but would have to hold their peace, and not say a word, for they do not qualify to tell anybody to act right.

If someone posts rudely they cannot say anything, if they are homosexual they have to keep their mouth shut, or anything else people do that is wrong, for they cannot abstain from, and do not qualify to tell anybody to act right.

But if you are led of the Spirit, and abstaining from sin, then you have the right to tell people how to behave according to God's holiness.

The bible doesn't teach "sinless perfection. " There is a great difference between "acts of sin," and "practicing sinning, i.e., sin having dominion over you).

As I suspected, this thread is merely a pretext for MoTC to share Swaggart's view of the world.

The only way the Believer can walk in the Spirit is placing their Faith exclusively in Christ (who He is) and the Cross of Calvary where the victory was won (what He has done), i.e., The Finished Work, i.e., The Blood of Jesus (Romans 8:2).

The Believer must stay in His death, burial, and resurrection and are, therefore, victorious (It is Jesus Christ life that brings victory). That is the only way they (we) are triumphant in Christ (II Cor. 2:14). And that is the only way He can work in them (us) both to will (change their desires), and to do (give them the power of the Holy Spirit) (Phil. 2:13)

40 years in the desert was needed to humble the strength of the "flesh" and destroy its hope of Moses; the possible king of Egypt was now an obscure shepherd (Exodus 3:2).

It's talking about the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Jesus got it at water baptism.
The disciples got it when Jesus breathed on them
The church got it at Pentecost.
Those in the book of acts got it by laying on of hands.

Once it is recieved,it is stirred up through worship, and refilling in private intimate times,...
But you can get "hit" driving the car or mowing the lawn.

That is walking in the spirit.
John was doing it on patmose.
"I was in the Spirit......"

Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. I think this is very good advice especially in walking after the spirit. Yes we should have faith in Christ but we do this as believers anyways other wise we would not be saved. But notice how it is spoken of as walking after the spirit after being the key word meaning it is a constant moving forwards chasing him.

Walking in the spirit requires our hearts eyes to be on him and for our hearts to constantly be chasing after him because after all if all our hearts see is him we are blind to everything else and this is how he wants us he wants us to be blind so that we don't trust our reasoning or eyes. Notice how when Peter was walking on the water to Jesus, his eyes were set only on Jesus and thus he walked in the spirit and on the water he had faith in Jesus but that alone wasn't enough he had to keep his eyes on him and not on his surroundings and so it was only when he looked away that he fell.

walking in the spirit is also a state of mind, being and heart. We so easily forget how important it is to spend personal quality time with him, the more time we spend with him the more our thoughts think on heaven;y things. But we also tend to allow ourselves to be distracted by our problems worries and the things of this world making it more difficult for ours to be set on him but the spirit is always moving and calls us to give chase which is why we are told to give all our worries and fears to him so we can focus on walking after the spirit until we are then walking with the spirit.

God only awards imputed righteousness by maintaining Faith exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work (Romans 4:5). God only recognize the blood of Jesus on the door post of our hearts. That Believer is now under the strongest law in the universe, " The Law Of The Spirit Of Life In Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2)." This law is stronger than "The Law Of Sin And Death (Romans 8:1-2)." So when you do miss the mark and sin, you still have imputed righteousness. Which means: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Sin has no dominion over you. (The Believer must confess their sins 1 John 1:9)

The Holy Spirit, He Works strictly within the parameters of the "Finished Work" i.e., "the Cross of Christ", which demands that our Faith be exclusively in the Cross of Christ. The reason is simple, that's were the price was paid, and the victory was forever won (Romans 6:1-14; 1 Cor. 2:2; Gal. 5; Gal. 6:14; Eph. 2:13-18; Col. 2:14-15).

Strictly?
Actually the Holy Spirit works in all parameters.
It is He that plows the crusty hearts of sinners.
The cross is salvation.
Resurrection life is the walk.
The Holy Spirit illuminares the word and empowers the believer. The cross is included but not limiting to the scope of the vast working of the Holy Spirit.
Pauls illumination and gifts are directly connected if not mostly empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Words of knowledge, prophecy, healing, inner voice of guidence and revelation, power to cast out demons are all part of walking in the spirit
