Been yearning to write but decided nooooo can do. You see, I figured it was time to listen. So shhhhing, I have been. It brought me to a question that I ponder… Do you the reader consider yourself to be humble, do you consider yourself meek? I believe meekness comes from a humble estate, that until we are first humble, we can not achieve authentic meekness.


I'm just reading up on it, not too convinced just working through a matter. I notice we, most of us Christians, have the walking in His Truth down;you know, walking in His victory? We are pretty good at chastising, correcting, discerning, and rebuking but I think we all could stand a little more meekness. How many of us want to work on our humility, that long suffering stuff, so we can be meek?


Lord, help me be the child of Yours that you called me to be.

Meekness is an attribute of human nature and behavior. ... Meekness has been contrasted with humility as referring to behavior towards others, whereas humility refers to an attitude towards oneself – meekness meaning restraining one's own power, so as to allow room for others.

I find meekness harder than humbleness. Its harder to let someone else take over.
On the othee hand God has been humbling me in areas I didnt realise that I wasnt.
Its important to let God work

For what it's worth, Matthew 5:5 is translated as "meek", "humble", and "gentle", depending on the translation. The NASB uses "gentle", but it also notes that it would also be proper to translate πραΰς [praus] as "meek" or "humble" as well.

Matthew 5:5​
5 Blessed are the gentle/humble/meek, for they shall inherit the earth.​

Strong's lexicon says:

πραΰς [praus] - Apparently a primary word; TDNT 6:645; TDNTA 929; GK 4558; Three occurrences; AV translates as “meek” three times. 1 mildness of disposition, gentleness of spirit, meekness. Additional Information: Meekness toward God is that disposition of spirit in which we accept His dealings with us as good, and therefore without disputing or resisting. In the OT, the meek are those wholly relying on God rather than their own strength to defend them against injustice. Thus, meekness toward evil people means knowing God is permitting the injuries they inflict, that He is using them to purify His elect, and that He will deliver His elect in His time. (Is. 41:17, Lu. 18:1–8) Gentleness or meekness is the opposite to self-assertiveness and self-interest. It stems from trust in God’s goodness and control over the situation. The gentle person is not occupied with self at all. This is a work of the Holy Spirit, not of the human will. (Gal. 5:23).​

we, hub and myself, personally think that 'meek & humble' are closely 'related' -
meek, from a worldly stand point indicates 'weakness', but,
from a Godly stand-point it indicates 'strength', for one
that is 'humble and meek' is willing to be a 'servant'
of all, but his only Master is Christ'...
