Hi everyone,

I've been thinking a lot about social media lately and just wanted to see what other opinions are. I deleted my Facebook months ago now bevayse I found myself using it A LOT, more than I felt was healthy, and I posted something daily and obsessing over the number of "likes", who "liked" it etc etc.

I actually don't miss it which I thought I would, bit I still have Instagram which I use regularly. I view it daily but not as compulsively as facebook and I don't post in the same way, but it still takes quite a bit of my attention and I do feel there's a lot of comparison between myself and others when I view it (in my own mind). I enjoy it because I follow only positive accounts/people, so there is a lot of stuff on my newsfeed which inspires me but I do still get hung up sometimes on my own persona and what others think of me.

I don't know if this makes any sense or I'm the only one who feels this way about social media, bit yeah just throwing it out there! :)

Many notice the same things you have mentioned. Just so you know, you're not alone and you're not way out in left field and you're not just imagining it.

I've never really cared about likes, but I can see how easy it can be to get caught up in that. As far as usage, I just use it whenever. I don't track how much or how often.

I do have most it, though; instagram, youtube, facebook, twitter, etc., but as my friends could confirm, I don't post a whole lot. I guess I'm more of a lurker.

Yes, I deleted mine too. It's super fake and there have been studies that show it makes people more depressed.

I like black mirror on Netflix. They actually have an episode where they use social media for purchases. For example you couldn't get a loan for a car if your social media score wasn't high enough. So...it could be worse. Lol
