And He Will Lift You Up,

Scripture says that God opposes the proud but shows
favor to the humble. Actually the Bible is replete with
similar teaching. God is not looking for the famous, the
wisest or anyone who believes that by their own self that
they are bigger than God. God does not choose the
qualified, He qualifies the chosen. He takes the weak and
makes them strong and he takes the pompous and makes
them lowly. Does that mean we are to walk around like
wimps and get kicked around; I don't think so. I believe
that God is shielding us from pride, from growing lofty by
our own devices. The theme is to cling to the Lord and
not just on Sunday. Being a Christian is a lifestyle, not a
title but rather being in Christ day by day and all day. Is it
easy, not always but it is necessary. We could leave this
world and become hermits. But blessed are those who
stay in this world seeing themselves being shielded by Him
in all the things of this world that attack us. It is then that
the spirit has grown.
