We already have PM's to chat with people. This is a lousy concept. It pops up every few seconds when someone signs in, people can call us who we may not want to call us, etc.. It's annoying as heck.. (n)(n) It's also incredibly distracting..

I said it was a good idea but experimenting with it, it dosn't seem to work very good.

I just PM'ed with Robo. He said they're just trying it out, and there's a way for those who don't want it to get rid of it but it can only be done by admin.

I'm looking forward to meeting new friends with the new chat feature.

As with any new offering, I'm sure there will be plenty of glitches to work out, but I'm looking forward to being able to meet others through this option, especially since I often keep odd hours--its neat to see who's here to talk to in real time.

Thanks to the CC administration for giving us yet another up-to-date, modern means of connecting. :)

We can already see who's on here, just by looking at the sidebar. I don't want some scammer, pervert or whoever trying to chat with me or call me on here. I suppose it's nice for those who want it, but it would be even nicer for those who don't, to be able to opt out. And like I said before, it pops up every few seconds when someone signs in, and it gets in the way of the reply box if I happen to be typing a post when it pops up.

Personally I think it's more important to get the pink female nicks back.. lol

not my thing but I guess some people would enjoy it

however I have my settings on private to prevent unwanted communication

when they were not private, I received pm's that I would rather I had not

prefer privacy thank you

as an example, on another site I don't bother with anymore, they have this feature

at least 3 different people wanted to chat...but about another member

no thank you. and that was also the main reason I opted out of the pm feature

Some will like it. Some won’t. I’m sure admin is working on it. Give them time.

I don’t have a preference. I’m guessing I’m not logged in enough during the day to see how it bothers/benefits me.

what if I leave and don't sign out? then come back 10 hrs later and by that time you are frustrated with my lack of response

you could be trying and trying and trying to 'chat' with me and think I am a snob cause I don't answer

then the rumors start. see how it goes? (jking but it could happen. oh yes it could o_O )

it's not really a chat 'option'

everyone pops up with 'I am available'

The notifications are from people signing on? I was seeing stuff like 13 new notifications this morning. Only a couple of those were messages.

I do like the chat. It kind of reminds me of using something like messenger. I can understand someone wanting to opt out or wants to limit who can see them or message them.

First the idea and the function are different. Mine dosn't show a send, post or block option icon and left click dosn't help. So I will continue to use skype to chat about music, weather or scripture while keeping an eye on threads till it gets a tune up at least but it's a step at least. I wish I could turn it off for now.

The current iteration of the new function is intrusive and annoying. It is getting in the way of browsing the forum, and it might severely curtail my forum time per day.

Which... is probably a good thing.

When I clicked on it I noticed 3 dots on the top. Click and selected busy rather than available. Maybe it'll stop being such a pest till they get it fixed.
