We call ourselves Christians. Is that it? Is that all we have in common?
Shouldn't the definition of Christian indicate a vast commonality?

We disagree about many things. On what can we agree?
If responders could each provide one thing we agree about. That would be great.
Extra points for adding a scripture. Thanks.

Ephesians 4:11-13
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,
12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature,
attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

I guess we have nothing in common then. How can that be?
Certainly not the pattern of the early church. Scripture below.

This thread was launched on Saturday at 8 PM (my time)
Here we are at 8 AM (my time) on Monday.

Acts 2:44
All the believers were together and had everything in common.

Hi Sketch. We're all sinners saved by the grace of God. Without God's mercy, there's nothing separating us from anyone else on the planet.

Have you not considered our Master's words and foretelling. Here is some in part, there is much more:

Mat 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Mat 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Mat 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
Mat 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Shouldst I havest variance with thee and lovest thou not? (at the command of Christ our Lord)

Besides being saved sinners, as born again Christians we all have the Holy Spirit indwelling us, we have been justified, are being sanctified, we are in Christ, we look forward to the resurrection of our bodies, we have a common Gospel to be shared with the lost etc. There's more to that 'commonality.

I was a convert of Geico, but their doctrine became more expensive, so I joined the denomination of Liberty. (Ok, enough silliness from me.)

In Christ, we have liberty (freedom) and we can all share the gospel.

We have the Gospel, that is what our generations of people were blessed with.
The generations that ended with Noah never saw the entire picture like we do.
The generations from Noah till Yeshua made His appearance also did not have what we have (They did however, get God Himself in person).

But as people under the New Covenant, we are blessed with technology that broadens beyond our perspective of God. Our knowledge is greater today, mainly due to understanding. Daniel and John saw beasts that released great fire-power appearing to be engulfed in flames. Our military capabilities match these visions. What they saw made them at a loss of words to explain in proper terms period. What we see and then can relate it to scripture, is now definitive in many aspects. We can definitely feel a certainty about what we know in these Last Days!!

The real Beauty is, we don't even know squat in the full context of God, but we sure know the specifics to the Tribulation..
