My mother was from Aalborg, Denmark. My dad was stationed in Frederikshaven. My dad said the moment he first saw her he was captivated by her eyes. That her eyes looked like the waters after a storm. A couple of years they where married and he was stationed back in the States. 💗💕

My folks met at a church function in NYC. Mom was visiting Dad's church with a friend of hers who introduced them. It turned out they both lived in the same neighborhood and probably had seen each other routinely at the laundromat that they both frequented. They will celebrate their 54th (or is it 55th?) anniversary this year.

My hubby and I did! :)
Wazza? I actually meant your parents meeting each other not you and hubby. I mean cool that you met online but...I suppose most people posting have parents that met before the internet age. Even though internets been going since the 90s so offspring might be in their teens now.

I never asked. My mom usually only mentioned a doctor she dated before she met my dad. She said she couldn’t marry him because she was a Mormon and he was Jewish.

Wow so many different stories what I notice is nobodys said their parents met at a bible college, which is what all the christian dating books say, well most of the people that write them do.

Apparently thats the ministers hunting ground for wives. I thought people might be too busy studying to get hitched or going out to spread the gospel rather than get tied down to one person and start families. I always wonder about that because Jesus never told his disciples they had to go and get married. Some of them were already were but the single ones he didnt say they were incomplete just cos they werent married.

I mean believers are adopted into Gods family by being born again we are not commanded by Jesusnthat we have to physically procreate or literally give birth to anyone else. So am not sure what the deal is with some believers eagerness to become parents! Its like graduate school, immediately get married. Why?

My parents met in high school, just after WWII. My dad was the Captain of every sports team, president of the student union, and voted "Most Likely to Succeed." My mom worked in a deli close to their school, where she worked to buy clothes her parents couldn't give her. She set her eyes on him, and then made friends.

The were married when she was 18 and he was 19. They waited 6 years, till they had piled up money, and then I was born. Although my father's parents were Christian, my father was not, because Christianity was an old women's religion (ie his mom) and because Christianity was unscientific.

They were married 63 years, before my father finally passed away of congestive heart failure. God saved him 5 months before he died. My mom is still alive, being 89 right now. Not sure of her status in God. She has said a sinner's prayer, but is not motivated to learn more about Jesus, or walk with him. Sad, because she could be spending her final years reading the Bible, and going to a church nearby, and praying and knowing God and worshipping him.

My parents meet in high school, Dads brothers were friends with my Mums brothers... Dad stole my Mums little brothers bike, my Mum beat up my Dad and took her brothers bike back LOL My dad was all kinds of shamed at school the next day when everyone found out so he knocked my Mum over the head with a tool. Then a little after that happened they started a relationship and then had me when they were only 15 and 16. They were married a year after i was born (mothers parents did not approve of my dad) Their marriage lasted for just over 19 years before my mother left because of the abuse.

My Dad was in the Navy and attended a church where congregants were known to take serviceman home for Sunday dinner.
My Dad actually went to get a good home cooked meal. He got the good food and a good wife.

Mormon and Jewish? Sounds workable. :)

My parents met in the swamps of Louisiana. My mother said she was hypnotized by his blue eyes lol. Her dad said he’d rather feed my dad to the alligators than letting them marry haha. Luckily he wasn’t successful at that lol.
