Hello Kamitis, we are glad you have joined us here at Christian Chat.

I am told that Latvia is really a lovely country. We have some friends whose parents were forced to leave Riga at the beginning of WW2. They were part of the large German minority at the time there in Riga. I would like to visit all three of the Baltic countries.

Hope you find many friends here at CC to chat with. A warm welcome we send to you! :)

You're from Latvia? I had to go to Google Maps to see where it is! Wow, it seems to be a very nice country. I wish you could tell us about churches in your city. Welcome to Christian Chat! God bless!

We would love to!
so as you may know Latvia was one of the last baltic states to drop paganism and join christianity , so our religious history dosnet go back that far. But it doesnet mean that we dont have churches , we do. And the biggest aka the center of religion is church called , Aglonas bazilika, Pope John Pavel 2 wisited and Pope Francis wisited. ive been there 4 times, and its very betafull. if you ever visit latvia its worth checking it out. In cpital city Riga there are copule of churches. My favorite ones to wisit are
St. Peter's church
Rigas Cathedral
i live on county side so i dont visit big churches often, but i have one small , but very betaful one ... im going to leave some links, so you can check out the churches , but if you have any questions about latvias , or any of the baltic states churches or culture , feel free to ask .

Here are the links.
Aglonas bazilika
St. Peter's Church, Riga
Riga Cathedral
https://www.liveriga.com/en/39-churches in this link you can see most of the churches in riga .
P.s hope you like it, i know is not much , but if you have any questions just ask.

Since you guys were under Soviet rule I thought those communists had wiped out all organized religions from Latvia.

How did your spiritual awakening come about? What church are you attending now?

they Tried but they didn’t succeed, thankfully. I just felt really scared lost and sad . I hade anxiety, I tried everything thing . At one point I just got drawn towards bible , i started reading it and I started my first prayers . To say I let him in my life that I had problems. And they started do disappear, I started to feel happy again . I felt his present, that made me happy and not sad anymore. I now see world from a whole new perspective. there is still a lot of anxious thoughts in me but whit the help of bible I’m trying to solve that.

An invisible force did that, i.e. God. I hope you stay here for long, my brother! Christian Chat is not perfect, but is the best Christian forum I've ever seen. I'm sure God has a plan for you in eternity.
