Hello, friends! I was scrolling through the news on my phone yesterday when all of a sudden I saw this image with a headline stating, "I am the light! Image of Jesus appears in the sky as the sun bursts through clouds over Italy."

10548992-6768521-image-a-8_1551695158702.jpg

I was shocked! I fully believe that God gives signs and personal signals to remind us that He is there and that He is watching over all of us; this is no different! And I may be going too far with this but if you truly look at the photo, you can see that any light cracking through the clouds is coming from the top right-hand corner; it's fairly dark everywhere else until you see the image of Jesus... The image is formed in the clouds so well, and it's sure eye-catching!

There are also two birds in the photo, which reminded me of Genesis 6:19: "Bring into the ark two of living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you."

The biggest thing that shocked me about this photo, though, is that this picture was taken only days before Lent started. Today (March 6th, 2019) is Ash Wednesday, also known as the first day of Lent.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm posting this on the "Bible Discussions" forum for a couple reasons: One, I really want people to see this image; maybe it can provide that little bit of faith and hope that they've been needing. Two, it actually says in the Bible that Jesus will appear in the clouds shortly before His Second Coming! There are many verses explaining this. Matthew 24:30 is one of them: "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."

And so, with this post ending, I want to know what your thoughts are on this photo! What do you think? Do you believe this is a sign from Jesus? Do you find the picture beautiful or are you not interested? Leave the replies below! ;) God bless. x

One of the traits that human beings have developed to help them survive in and make sense of their environment is the ability to detect patterns in the world around them. Sometimes this is useful, such as when we note that the fish are easier to catch at dusk, but sometimes it makes us see patterns in things that are actually just random. Seeing shapes of things in the clouds is one such misapplication of that skill. For instance, at the top of the cloudline, I can see an elephant licking the back of a koala bear.

The "image of Jesus" you see above is really just a crack in the clouds, allowing light from the setting sun to stream through. In fact, "Jesus" wouldn't have a body at all if it wasn't for the light streaming through, as his "body" is really just that shaft of light. So are the flowing robes we would associate with Jesus, although they could just as easily be a cape, and the figure could just as easily be that of Superman (which would explain why he has his arms out like he is flying).

It's good to see God in the world around you--what you perceive in the world is often a reflection of what you are expecting to see--so it reflects well upon you that you are looking for God in the world around you. But do keep in mind that in this case, it is more of a reflection of your faith than it is a special manifestation of God.

You know, normally I would think towards the miraculous and Jesus too. But, then I remember reading that the anti Christ would come first. And with signs and wonders that even the elect could be deceived.

Things like this could be preparing the way. So I'm not sure. I have misgivings now.

That would make an amazing calendar photo. With some scripture. :)

I have pictures of clouds and stars with scripture to remind me of Him. Also got photos of Bethelehm, nazareth and Jerusalem. One year I had scenic pictures, and many of them had rainbows, stones, or the sea.
This year I've got flowers.

Oh, for sure! You always have to keep an eye out for the anti-Christ. Some may see the image that way, others may not. Thanks for sharing your opinion! :)

That would be really pretty! Your calendar seems pretty, too! Thanks! :)

sorry, but no.

that is not Jesus in the clouds and it is not a miracle

further, with all the photo manipulation possibilities out there, you could make just about any photo into whatever you wanted it to be

and why would Jesus appear in Italy?

is someone trying to say that Jesus is hovering over the pope or something?

sigh

sadly if you already believe this you are unlikely to change your mind

what does the NT say about seeking signs?

hello? anybody?

maybe the fact the antiChrist will come with great signs and wonders is one reason we are not to seek signs

pay attention to the details in scripture

we have been warned about deception many times by Jesus

Well I don't think anyone believes that is really Christ. It's just a cute little reminder that Christ could come one of these days and if that helps us to remember to keep our lives in Godly order, what could be wrong with that?

No matter how much flack others within this site will give you, we must always remember the only thing that matters. It's what YOU personally see as the eye of the beholder. A sign from God typically is not given to millions of people at one time. We know this from scripture that God works INDIVIDUALLY.

I will just make this statement and leave it at that...

...What YOU see that others cannot, does not mean YOU are wrong.

With that, I suggest that any time you feel you have had some sort of encounter with God, pray immediately and ask for confirmation. If it is of/from God, there will be other things that will revealed by God to confirm it :)

Joshua fleeced God, did not tempt, but he fleeced God. We have this same right to do as well!!

Technically at the Burning Bush, Moses also fleeced God!!

The entire Holy Word of God has many examples of how we can properly fleece God for His proof and answers :)

you said you were shocked which indicates you believe it was Jesus or at least a sign

and I brought up what Jesus Himself said about that sort of thing

so it is not just my opinion or whether or not some people like the photo or not

you are, of course, free to think and believe whatever you want but you did even say yourself you might be going too far with this (photo)

so consult the Bible with regards to that sort of thing and maybe do not dismiss what Jesus says

that's all

Gnosticism alert. Jesus does have a body. A spiritual body. a resurrection body.

Comprehension alert. The image of "Jesus" in the clouds wouldn't have a body if it wasn't for the light streaming through the hole in the clouds. There is no space in the clouds that would correspond to the image of a body. The shaft of light IS the figure's body.

Please do not say that I have dismissed anything that Jesus has said; I am fully aware. I am going to do what Jesus said right now and turn the other cheek. You are one of the Christians that simply do not like this photo, and that is totally fine! But there are also Christians out there that see the photo in a serene way like I do. Let us not argue. I hope for no arguing on this post. God bless. :)
