Brother I am becoming quite concerned about you. Test the spirits. Dont let yourself be entrapped.
I was never able to say goodbye to my grandpa that i treated badly when i was a small child. he had to feel all my anger and years after he was dead guilt hit me. We will see them again at judgement day.
When God takes us home we are away here because our time here has run out and wethen move on to eternity. If God wanted us to speak with them or have contact with them then they would still live among us.
We see that bringing saul back to life was the end of david. Saul was very angry at david for disturbing him. we shouldnt do these things.
I know your feeling but please dont let the enemy get a foot into your life please.
why be concerned for someone that wants to confirm a fact in scripture rather than base the fact on an assumption.

When the witch of Endor called Samuel forth from the grave to speak with Saul<--- two sets of verses in context that states it was not Samuel and was a demon....

Also....why make a law/commandment against something that cannot be done....?????

it seems strange to me that we are commanded to love our fellow man yet when someone we have loved very closely all our life passes on we are to show nothing and act as if they never existed. if only we had never loved them in the first place but the bible forbids that.
I’m often having a chat with my late dad, and with my late husband. Sometimes I’ll bring a bottle of my dads favorite bourbon to his last resting place and...bottoms up. Same goes for my late husband. We’re talking all the time. He doesn’t care for bourbon, though lol, but he’s not the one to turn down Lone Star beer (how can anyone drink that stuff?).

Why is communicating with the dead forbidden in most churches? Does the bible say any and every form of contact is off limits?
Because communicating with the dead is in fact communicating with evil spirits (familiar spirits) pretending to be the dead. And the Bible does forbid this.

Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God. (Lev 19:31)

And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. (Leviticus 20:6)

And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? (Isaiah 8:19)

all these passages are forbidding using sorcerers. the question had nothing to do with why cant we use sorcerers. that would be a kinda dumb question. would be like asking, is it ok to worship fallen angels every once in a while. lol
Samuel was called by Saul, the bible said it was Samuel that showed up, not a demon acting like Samuel.

Samuel, supposedly, was called by the witch of En Dor, not Saul. As to what actually happened, no one can know for sure. What is clear, however, is that Saul consulting a witch was not a good thing, and not of God. Even if Samuel appeared, that doesn't justify trying to speak to our dead today. Also, Saul used a person forbidden by God's law to make the conversation possible. So I guess you could use a medium to talk to your dead today, but scripture doesn't support being able to talk to the dead without some kind of ungodly intercessor. Bottom line: Saul is a poor example to use to try and justify speaking to your dead loved ones.

I agree...Saul used the witch which sealed his doom concerning his physical life ....the verbiage is clear...Samuel was called forth...and again why have laws against something IF IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO DO IT....

what Saul did was wrong. the Most High had cut him off. Saul IMO should have plead for mercy and forgiveness, but instead he tried to use a back door. also Saul was not wanting to speak to Samuel personally, he wanted divine knowledge to use against his enemies.

all the passages about contacting the dead are almost always related to the practices of the Canaanites or Babylonians, scripture tells us these people were into dark ways, their contact had nothing to do with love for a lost family member it had to do with gaining power from the other side.

The dêad dont want to be disturbed and anyway they cant speak to you cos they are resting.
If your wife has passed on then its best you let go and keep on living theres a reason you are still alive its because God wants you on earth for a reason! To carry on spreading the gospel and to show that Jesus has given us eternal life!

I know this guy who was always going on about his dead dad and would keep all his stuff and talk to all these dead movie stars and it was creepy. Of course all those dead people could never talk back to him its not like they could ever have a real conversation.
If you died the spouse you left behind would not want you always trying to contact them and bugging them. If you are a saved believer then you have ASSURANCE that your spouse who also is saved will meet you in heaven its the resurrection that is the promise given in thessalonians. You are NOT saying goodbye to a believer who has fallen asleep.

When John the Baptist got beheaded and died was Jesus trying to contact him? Nope! Why cos revelation shows us that all those beheaded for the gospel are resting and waiting for the saints to be avenged by God.

Luke 9:59-62

JEsus challenges you, are you going to follow Him or are you always going to give an excuse 'i have to talk to my dead wife first'

then why waste the time with a law thats completely arbitrary.

::: shrug :::

You've wasted a lot MORE time asking about an arbitrary law than it takes to write an arbitrary law in the first place, so who knows why we do all the silly things we do.

"Thou shalt not flap your arms and fly to the moon."

See? That only took me like five seconds. Now we could wonder about why that law exists for a couple of weeks, or we can just not flap our arms and fly to the moon, and go about our business instead.

Where is THAT rule written?
You missed the point....God does not give commands, laws and punishments for those things which men CANNOT DO......I.E.. the fact there is a law against it = it is possible.....

That is silly. Are you perfect? If you were then you wouldn't rage against the truth with your silliness?

Jesus said to be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect [see Matthew 5:48]

Of course there are those who rage against the truth are going to disagree so I will let them answer the question posed in Luke 6:46, "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"

However, the reason that those who are not perfect before the LORD is merely the result of their willingness to do the lusts of their heavenly father [see John 8:44] as evident by their works in those things expressed in Deut 18:10-12 which are an against the Spirit of the truth.

10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Thus, those instruction to be perfect as the Spirit of truth is perfect is found in the Deuteronomy 18:13 wherein it is written "Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God."
