I think you forgot a portion.......and if we do not we will loose our salvation.
There is a problem in faith and our walk. We are always walking if faith and not sight,
hoping for something unseen, and loyal to a King we know in hearts but have not met
in the flesh yet. So Paul says we need to test ourselves, because we may find we have
not reached out and connected with Christ.

So the issue is always walking in the Spirit and faith, and we know we are secure in Him.
Anywhere else is testing the Lord.

:LOL::ROFL:

If you promote a false Gospel then one should be concerned because they do answer to God.
WHO here is promoting the false gospel?

The ones who say obedience is not required and do not uphold the teachings of Jesus...

or the ones who say obedience IS required and are upholding the teachings of Jesus....

??

Did you read the book? Do you think I whip crap off my hip? And I am seminary educated which involved the study of Greek and Hebrew....and my brother has a doctorate in Greek and Hebrew....your view was not a fair assessment and my post stands...there are nuances and tenses in Greek which the bible NT was inspired In thst are NOT BROUGHT OUT IN THE ENGLISH......not a fair or HoNEST assessment man and your point was moot.....ypu don't know me or what I have studied and or know pal
My point still stands, take James White for example, I guarantee you he knows more about "the greek" than anyoen on this forum. Yet the OTHER people who also know "the greek" disagree with James White.

ANd might I add: what language did the heretics in the apostolic times speak? YOu guessed it, greek! So they had the same writings, they knew the greek language and it did them no good!

I may not know greek, but I do know more than one language so I can compare how things are translated, and you can pick up any Bible and get the true doctrine from it, whether its NIV ESV NASB KJV NKJV etc. I trust the translators and ive compared the translations, they all say pretty much the same thing, many translators dont believe in baptism by immersion, yet their view isnt carried on to the translation ive noticed. Thats my opinion, if you dont like it, keep it moving, im not forced into agreeing.

The Holy Spirit leads into all truth!

N thats my last word on that topic. Lets leave it at that. We dont agree on that point!

Being born again is being regenerated from above ....it is salvation.
So,,,,who here has NOT been regenerated?

Those that adhere to Christ's teachings....
Or those who don't.....be it in language or behaviorisms or doctrine?

Yeah. When you don't agree with @dcontroversal you're dishonesr, or a liar, or unfair, or you didn't read correctly...etc etc.

Boy,,,,talk about boasting in ones self....he can't even accept a disagreement !
He's way up there on a VERY HIGH pedestal....
and yet, he says he does not boast in himself....which would mean he's humble...
humble persons do not place themselves on a pedestal.

A disciple is a learner.
But I wonder if you really understand what this means within the new covenant of Christ Jesus
Hi UG,

Yes a disciple is a learner. Are you suggesting I am saying something different?
Many seem to be saying they are born into the Kingdom and then its a free for all, do what you want.

I call being a sinless perfectionist from you as a complement.
Please show me where saying you do evil in Gods eyes is a way to blessing and eternal life?
Show me where God rewards evil men with anything but judgement in the end.

But solid food is for the perfect, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil
Heb 5:14

I see my friend you cannot yet distinguish good from evil, and are still a slave to sin.
I hope you realise being a slave to sin declare your kingdom.

Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey--whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?
Rom 6:16

But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted.
Rom 6:17

Pauls argument is simple. We used to be slaves to sin, used to be, but now we wholeheartedly obeyed the teaching.
So we are now being obedient and so righteous.

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.
Titus 1:15

If you live in a corrupted mind and conscience nothing is there that is not corrupt.

That is not good it received and x :(

But she has stated somewhere on here that she goes to the Church of the Nazarene.
I attended this church when I was living in Maine. My late second wife's brother was the pastor and her sister played the piano.

Always talking about catholicism...
you must REALLY miss it.

Just go back to being a Catholc and stop thinking about it.
Occasionally when I remove sin as our enemy in life, and think about Jesus makes us His, only by the
cross, their positions become clearer.

In this context a phrase saying works are important condemns the speaker as evil and lost.
It is like a non-thinking belief system. So if I quote Paul saying we are slaves to righteousness I am evil.

Once you click into this mindset, life becomes dismissive, wrong word, gone.
Millions have been killed because of this ability people have, to cut across the heart, morality, love,
truth, reality.

The pharisees did it with Jesus. They needed the phrase so they could kill Him.
Once one falls for this, one is lost to God. God always starts with our hearts, and whether we
are prepared to be honest and open about where we are, and where He wants to take us.

It is clear to me many agree where they are, but deny Jesus wants to make them like Himself.
Until they do, they do not know Jesus.

And this one idea is enough for the believers here to call it evil, leading one to hell.
What a deception, what a simple blindness to Jesus's heart and teaching. And the excuses as
to why you can ignore Jesus teaching will just be accepted, because it stops them speaking to
their hearts and their hearts are desperately wicked and incapable of reform.

Like always I will have something to say :sneaky:

Gen 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

The Hebrew word "laws" is Torah... so Abraham did keep God's law/torah if I understand Gen26:5. The only difference is that God instructed Moses to write it down. :D

Blessings brother
Sin has always been sin, i agree

We are talking about the law of moses, and context that jews had to obey to be cleansed, and that is what paul was talking about when he said not by works, and those were the only works in context.

UG,

If you believe I promote a false gospel then so does the Nazarene church.
And if you want me to accept your accusation you have to say more than slander.

It is literally foolish to condemn a brother or sister in Christ because of a feeling or someone elses
statement. It is like looking down a barrel of a gun to test it is not loaded. You die.

It is why Jesus was very careful to warn people about judging others, especially about points of faith.
The reason being one can end up judging God Himself and His ways, and there is only one answer to
doing that. But hey the lost do not care, they are lost anyway, and randomly blast away, because their
conscience is burnt off, and nothing could happen to them anyway.

My fear over judging wrongly, is I am a saved sinner, and rely on God and His Spirit to guide me.
So often I get in the way, and do things wrong. So it takes great care and gentleness to understand
and respect anothers beliefs.

Talking here is more like being blasted by a tank, as if they are impenetrable, when they are unbelievably
vulnerable and risking much more than they realise, at almost every level. And that is the stupidity of
blasting not seeing one is often blasting oneself to pieces and not helping anything.

God bless you

Agreed.
It's frightening indeed when one is told they're lost because they're trying to follow Jesus!

Did you know that the concept of OSAS did not even exist until about 40 or 50 years ago?
Perseverance of the Saints is a totally different concept so I don't include it.

I say this because I'm coming to believe that some of this cavalier attitude is due to the fact that one believe he cannot lose salvation and so anything is permissible, while at the same time speaking with the mouth that they do not mean this...in reality it's EXACTLY what is happening!

This can be noted by their actions and their words and the posts speaking against anyone that believes in the N.T. teaching of Jesus and the others.

Pure => heart => world - perfect sight, see things as they are
Corrupt => heart => world - fallen, failed, defeated world with no hope or resolution

Our worlds depend 100% on the state of our hearts. Just get angry about something and
everyone else is wrong unless they are also angry. Write something down in that state.
A few hours later, read what you wrote, that was completely ok and acceptable.

You will see how distorted and angry the words are. We are 100% where our hearts are, and
will always be like this, so unreliable and in serious need of being cleansed and purified.

But salvation has nothing to do with this, or walking in Jesus, or being a light shinning bright
that others might see Gods work in our hearts and want the same in their lives.

Salvation is all about this, or it is salt without any saltiness only worthy of being thrown out.

Music is very strange. You can put a tune together, speak the right words that stirs something in us,
and it is fantastic. My wife finds this often hard, and dislikes the music arrangement, until the words
start to express something that speaks to her. God bless you and thank you for sharing the song, Amen

You must have trouble reading....

The ENTIRE article agrees with what I've always said:
Here's an example....

Grace remains primary in Catholic teaching.

Neither faith nor works merit our justification. Justification is received by faith and perfected by works of charity, but it is not earned by works alone.

Yes, prevenient grace is needed even for our initial faith in Christ. No man can be justified simply by observing the moral law found in the Ten Commandments.

This is the authentic Catholic teaching of the Catholic Church. “And without faith it is impossible to please God” (Heb 11:6). There is a synergy between faith and works, as James teaches (Jas 2:24). It is not faith alone. It is not works alone. It is faith first and works following—each flowing from the wellspring of grace springing from the wounded side of the crucified Christ.

and:

We are therefore said to be justified freely, because that none of those things which precede justification—whether faith or works—merit the grace itself of justification. For, if it be a grace, it is not now by works, otherwise, as the same Apostle says, grace is no more grace.
