It is encouraged for a company to draft a mission statement to not only tell others why they are there but also to keep them focussed when making decisions. I decided to encapsulate what God told me my mission was and to come up with I single sentence to refer to when fulfilling my commitment to God. This is it:

Help make everyone else’s life suck less.

What’s yours?

This is making me question the purity of my own motives.
I was going to say something to the effect of "to become a son of God through enduring faith in Jesus Christ".
I have had a note on the wall for about a year now to help me keep focus, and it says "100% Christian".

But then that is all about me focusing on the achievement of my goal for my own joy, so that I can be pleased with myself, which seems selfish.

I need to adopt a healthier focus, like "try to always bring joy to God through my conduct". ( which really isn't the case at the moment! )
So I'm off to write a new note now - "Be a joy to God".

Nice mission statement by the way. I like the 'everyone' bit. Its so easy to find ourselves helping only those we love and overlooking the Lazarus's at our gate.

our goal as Christians should be total surrender to God -
the journey must proceed in a step-wise-fashion, from Faith-to-Faith,
upward upon the steps of His Holy Temple...

I like the idea of a mission statement! I agree that it is a great idea, and that if we PERFORM to our mission statement our life will definitely
be more meaningful.
I must confess, I haven't got one written yet. I'm working on it!
