if you click "reply" it puts the post you are replying to in a format which quotes it.
that triggers an alert to the person who you are quoting, saying that you've replied to them.
i know for a certainty you have received a great number of these very such alerts, and i expect you've been appreciative of the service the notification provides.

you can also highlight text in anyone's post, and an button appears that says "reply" next to the highlighted text. if you click it, it automatically formats a quote of exactly what you have highlighted in the reply box.

2.JPG

when you use quotes properly, it benefits everyone in the forum. the person you reply to knows you are talking to them, without randomly stumbling on your post, and everyone who reads it can click on the quote box in your post and be directed to the original post you quoted, so they can see for themselves what the other poster has said, in full context. that's useful because, as i'm sure you are aware, sometimes humans misrepresent facts.

you're welcome :)

Why do so many people think they can improve on the Bible way and God's way?

Psalms 127:1 A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain.
The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity
(Psalm 94:11)

i am glad to see you around again, btw :)

(11) POPE ENDORSES COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE DEAD.

Father Gemelli (a medical doctor) and Father Ernetti were in the University of Milan's Physics Lab researching ways to filter the taped sounds of Gregorian chant to enhance their acoustical purity. Then on Sept. 17, 1952 they experienced an auditory ADC that would shock the Catholic world. I'll quote David Fontana's magisterial book, "Is There an Afterife? A Comprehensive Overview of the Evidence:"

"The efforts of the two priests were hampered by the fact that the wire used by tape recorders before the invention of magnetic tape broke frequently and required constant and delicate repair work. Finally Father Gemelli, as was his habit when exasperated, called on his deceased father for help. On starting the machine again the Fathers heard, not the Gregorian chant upon which they were working, but the voice of Gemelli senior, "Of course I'll help you! I'm always with you."

After hearing this, Pope Pius XII "considered that the reception of the voice through an electronic machine might initiate "a new scientific study for confirming faith in the afterlife (p, 365)."" Just imagine if we had the risen Christ's voice on tape!
Sounds kind of spooky. Catholicism is founded on necromancy.... communing with the dead Remove it, it falls never to arise.

The biblical study for trying the spirits to see if they are inspired by God from heaven or earthly of the devil shows this scientific study for confirming faith in the afterlife (p, 365) to be in error. The last new revelation completed the word of God. What we had in part today we have the perfect (sola scriptura ) the arch enemy of scientific research. Can't find God in a microscope or after the rudiment of this world .God is not known after the oral traditions as philosophy as other religions of the world

God sealed up the possibilities of any new revelation with 7 seals. Men can chant all they want and develop all kinds of private studies .But when we try the spirits to see if they are of God or men .If any man claim lo is Christ thus says the Lord, I heard him on a cassette or any other false source of faith we are to believe not,.

The power of necromancy is limited by the win, win doctrines of "because our Holy Mother asked it" (bottom line) , even if proven wrong. The Catholic widening authority. If you believe, and it should be proven false, you will receive all blessings as if it had been true, because you believed it to be true. Just believe the venerable ones as if it was true .Its like wishing upon a star.

Pope Urban VIII on Private Revelation

His Holiness, Pope Urban VIII stated: "In cases which concern private revelations, it is better to believe than not to believe, for, if you believe, and it is proven true, you will be happy that you have believed, because our Holy Mother asked it. If you believe, and it should be proven false, "you will receive all blessings as if it had been true", because you believed it to be true."(Pope Urban VIII, 1623-44)

(10) ARTIFACTS LEFT AS EVIDENCE BY THE DECEASED:
In post #4 (case (2), I quoted Rev. Vincent's description of his deceased wife's appearance to her family of 5 during which she moved around, conversing and blessing everyone in a manner reminiscent of Christ's Easter appearances. As verification, she left a calendula flower from etheric realms, which they pressed and kept. Here are 2 similar cases of mementos left by the deceased:
Yes Catholisicim they love them dead bones .Dig them up and pass them around to be venerated. Where would they be without them as their private source of false faith. After being punished blood came pouring out of the bag of bones.

The decaying body was propped up onto a throne, and a trial was held with Pope Stephen acting as prosecutor. Meanwhile a young deacon was given the responsibility of defending Formosus, while a stunned audience watched the gross spectacle. According to various sources, Pope Stephen shouted at his dead predecessor, demanding he answer his charges. One chronicler, Liutprand of Cremona, noted that Stephen asked, “When you were bishop of Porto, why did you usurp the universal Roman See in such a spirit of ambition?”

The macabre and bizarre spectacle would soon reach its foregone conclusion – Formosus was found guilty. His body was stripped of its Papal vestments and three of his fingers were cut off from his right hand – those that he used to bless people. Finally, the body was tossed in the Tiber River, however the next day it was recovered by some monks and secretly buried in a monastery.

posthuman,

Interesting article, but irrelevant to this thread. It was Father Gemelli, not Father Emetti, whose Dad's voice showed up on the Gregorian chant tape! So was John wrong to report an alleged case of clairaudience in John 12:28-29? Do you think the crowd was right to insist that it was just thunder mistaken for a clairaudient voice? Have you even studied EVPresearch?

Faith come by hearing, and hearing by the word.....NOT NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES AND OR ANY OTHER EXPERIENCE FOR THAT MATTER....PETER, in light of the transfiguration said...WE HAVE A MORE SURE WORD OF PROPHECY and Abraham told the rich man burning in hell that if his 5 brothers will not believe the word of God, they will not believe though one rises from the dead....and one did rise from the dead....!!!!!
Glad the spelling police tagged this post.....geesh.......

Seriously what there to study to show one approved unto God?

Gregorian chant tape as a source of Christian faith?

Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him. John 12:28-29

Some said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him. I say it was a revelation from the father working with the Son. The kind of food the disciples knew not of.

What do you say it was?

EVP research ends up as a illusion coming from ones fleshly mind seeing things that are not there?

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind. Colossians 2:18

Jesus did some research into Colossians 2:18 and gave us an example what not to do (widen the authority of all things written in the law and the prophets). He resisted false pride that does come from widening the authority of as it is written

Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Mathew 4:7-10

Do you really need more that he has freely given us? What's the purpose in all that extra biblical stuff... puff up our fleshly minds.?

posthuman (quoting Angela): "Google tells me he was a pastor of the United Church of Canada. This is literally the most apostate denomination in Canada."

As usual, irrelevant and simplistically judgmental!
First, it is not Albert Baldeo, but his father and uncle who saw and heard each other as they were dying. Albert merely reported how his Dad died.
Second, I believe Albert was saved under my Pentecostal Uncle Larry's ministry in Trinidad where my uncle pioneered a desperately needed Christian ministry. They became good friends in Trinidad.
Third, my Dad and Albert became friends. Dad told me that Albert was an evangelical trying to move his United Church is a more godly conservative direction.
Fourth, your source,Angela, is prone to gossipy and biased generalizations about United Church pastors. A retired United Church minister used to drive down from Grand Forks, BC to attend my services. He told me he was saved in a Billy Graham crusade in Winnipeg, my hometown. I attended every one of those marvelous meetings in which hundreds made decisions for Christ nightly.
Fifth, you don't seem to have grasped Jesus' teaching about disciples as "the salt of the earth." Instead, of throwing liberal believers under the bus, many of us minister within a liberal denomination to ensure that they hear the Gospel preached and develop a healthy respect for the authority of Scripture.

By swallowing its opposition to the minister who doesn’t believe in God, the United Church shows just how irrelevant it is[/QUOTE]

Whatever was reported has nothing to do with Christianity .

First of all God is not longer bringing any new revelations and we seek after Him not seen to fill the Holy place. The unseen the eternal as the one source of God's faith. We pray one manner by faith. Our father in heaven, Not a legion of dead saints that are asleep. that some call patron saints and the scriptures call workers with familiar spirits. Are you Catholic?

Do you need more than he is willing to give us? It is sealed up with seven seals till the last day .Is that why you chose to go above that which is written you desire more in order to widen the authority of ones fleshly mind?

Post,
this sounds really 'dark'...
i have it on cassette somewhere, the full recording, ((tho i don't have a tape player anymore haha)) which is over an hour long -- from my days decades ago as a librarian, cleaning out an attic, it was one of a pile of weird albums that were to be discarded.

it's exactly the same thing as what Mssrs. Baldeo & Ernetti were claiming could record dead people talking: a thin wire, electrified and hooked to an amplified speaker.

in the late 40's and 1950's, there were a lot of people using them in seances and a variety of other occult practices. the precursor to the modern day 'ghost hunters' and their electromagnetic field detectors. this is what Baldeo & Ernetti were toying with in their Catholic physics lab; they were hoping to find physical evidence of the non-physical spirit realm. 'all the rage'

Alvin Lucier, tho, was just interested in the spontaneous chord formations and other pure acoustical properties. his long wire, in the basement of some campus building, would pick up the vibrations of footsteps and doors opening and closing on the floors above, and translate the vibration into low frequency sound. as far as i can remember from the liner notes of the album, he wasn't calling it necromancy.

why would anyone desire to speak with the dead,
when they have the privilege of speaking to
The Living God???

It would seem God who reveals himself by his word is the kind of God that would serve. This way they can customize their very own and bring in deceased family member as some sort of family reunion. The Adam 's family

garee: "Whatever was reported has nothing to do with Christianity ."
You just don't understand God's Word. Reread the OP.

garee: "First of all God is not longer bringing any new revelations and we seek after Him not seen to fill the Holy place. The unseen the eternal as the one source of God's faith."
"In the last days your your young will see visions your elders will dream dreams (Acts 2:17)."
"I have much more to say to you, but you can't handle it now. However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you in all truth (John 16:12)."
"They [future believers] will do even greater works than these because I am going to my Father (14:12)."
Jesus of course has in mind the gifts of the Spirit which remain with us today. Our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

garee: "Do you need more than he is willing to give us?"
Many souls have been saved through NDEs and NDEs open hearts of skeptics to the Gospel, hearts that would otherwise be closed.

Yes up until the last revelation given to John before he sealed up with seven seals the possibility of any new revelation. God was still bringing new prophecy today we have the perfect. By which we try the spirits casting out any new attempt to add or take away from the now perfect. It did previous at one time confirm this or that at that time period or another. That order of confirmation ended .

Today we confirm by faith as a living driving hope that surpasses all human hope as the hope of God working in us with us to both will and do His good pleasure .

I would think many fleshly minds have been deceived that a lying spirit mediator as a fallen angel gave them a illusion that they hoped would widen the authority of the word of God a sign to support them. It reveals another gospel .. Three time Christ resists the lies of the false visionary . Again and again to establish the one source of faith Jesus said As it is written. Christ trusted in His Spirit not in the pictures brought in by lies to his fleshly mind.

Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.Mathew 4:7-10

NDEs and NDEs that open the spirit world as a personal source of faith to the idea of just believe have a experience, They open another gospel, another christ other than our one mediator. God continues to send a strong delusion

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, Colossian 2:18
