Love is the desire for all others to have joy.
And the only true joy is to 'have' Love.

There is only one commandment.
It is to come to know for ourselves the Joy of 'having' Love, by the continual work of belief in Jesus.

If we do not love our neighbor then we do not 'have' love.

The two who had religion turned their backs on the one who needed love, and hurried on to quickly put him out of sight and out of mind.

The Good Samaritan chose to make the one who was in misery his neighbor, and to love his neighbor as himself, and to do unto others as he would have them do unto him.

If we do not choose to make those in need of love our neighbor then we do not 'have' Love.

And if we do not strip all the unnecessary nonsense of the world out of our lives and give all our surplus to help those in genuine need, then we do not 'have' Love, and are a 'clanging cymbal'.

Love is something we feel.
If nurtured it will grow to become our single driving force.
As the tree of Love grows inside us, through the sunshine and rain of God's love to us, then, "while we are still a long way off", He will welcome us home with rejoicing.
And we will be like a sapling, taken from its pot and planted in the field.
And we will be like Paul who once said "I do not count myself to have yet attained" but after more growth said "From now on the crown of righteousness is laid up for me".

In blindness we rush after worldly things like an education, a career, a family, friends, financial security and an indulgent future in this world,
and in doing so, we miss out on the chance to truly love God and to know, for ourselves, Love.
