Huh dont know what all that was about.
Anyway, I was thinking if one is married, wouldnt ministry be more effective when both do it together?

I see in many churches that, when both do ministry together its so much better than the husband alone or the wife alone. Ive noticed when the husband takes all of the glory his wife is diminished, she hardly ever speaks and is never by his side, maybe in the background. Yes she might be raising children and trotted out on occasion like a business trophy wife, but never has much to say or do in anything.

When a married woman does ministry alone her husband is absent and elsewhere, I sometimes wonder why arent you doing this together. Why arent you praying as a team?

the separation of men and women in a holy place goes back to the ark (of Noah). the bible is not very specific on this other then the men went in together as a group and then the women went in as a group. in the ancient days when men and women were separated in church it was based on the ark, this is how ancient people understood it.
Do you have chapter and verse for that? It's not in my bible, I don't think.

Genesis 7:7
And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him went into the ark to escape the waters of the flood.

i dont know where they got the idea from. maybe this passage. Noah and the men, and Noahs wife and the women. why does the passage not just say everybody went in or Noah and his family went in. i researched this a while back and dont remember all the info. if you want to look into it maybe start with Cyril of Jerusalem, he was one of the early ones that wrote about it.
By your logic, there is nothing to say there weren't four groups; Noah, his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives; or three groups; Noah, his sons and his wife, and his sons' wives; two groups, or one group. As there is no indication, it's better to read the passage as it is. Most likely, the group was ordered by importance - the head of the household, his sons, the matriarch, and the others.

I've been to Baptist churches where there were both co-ed, and gender specific bible studies.

Male and females have different roles in society, as well as in the body of Christ. Although scripture tells us there is neither male or female in Christ Jesus it is mostly misunderstood. The scripture refers to favoritism and respect of persons.
Separate gender Bible studies are encouraged for growth and perspective as well as personal gender issues that might be alkward sharing in a bi- gender study.

What are the different roles in the body of christ, can you tell us.
What would be awkward sharing in a bi-gender study. i cant think of what would be awkward personal gender issues that we would be studying. We studying the Bible, not ourselves. What 'issues'??

We want to know God better, not navel-gazing. And how would anything be awkward, that would be like saying, women cant share with Jesus anything, because hes male.

Your kidding me right now right. Women and men are different. We have different emotional needs, physical needs, fears and such that many don't want to express to the opposite sex .
David expresses in the Psalms to be transparent with the Lord in prayer. The fellowship is to encourage, strengthen, pray, to come along side.
Sharing the wisdom of the elders, seeking for a kindred spirit . Can a man instruct a women to be a better wife ? Can a woman instruct a man on peer pressure from other men?
Reading Ephesians 5 and 6 kinda tells you the different roles of a male and female.
Reading Genesis God spoke to both with different out comes.
Our God is a personal God. Understanding our creation and who we are and what we are in Christ Jesus brings harmony to the Christian way of life in Christ.
Bible study is brought together for fellowship, like minds. Jesus often had bible study with both male and female but on several occasions he only spoke to his first chosen. Then there was the women at the well who by custom and being a known rabbi and alone with her should have never spoke.
The women with the issue of blood according to the law and custom should never had been out in public let alone try to touch a rabbi.
The resurrection of Jesus show us that women respond different and are different.

The men wouldnt even believe the women when they told them Jesus had been resurrected, but all this was before the holy spirit was given at Pentecost. When the spirit is given, its poured out on BOTH sons and daughters, men and women, they were all ONE accord. Can you imagine if they were separated. Would the holy spirit only be poured out on the men? Or only the women?

This is the church!

When Paul was writing his letters to the Corinthians, was he addressing ONLY men, or ONLY women? No! He was writing to all! He included BOTH.

Do you find it awkward that Paul says husbands love your wives, or to the women, keep silence, why did he say this? Because they were all together and he wanted all of them to hear. He didnt say, women go sperated yourselves off from the men. Or men, go separate yourselves from the women. Think about it!

Nope, tell me what FEARS you would have. Are you afraid of women? Doesnt perfect love cast out fear?

If you a believer, what would you be afraid of?

The resurrection of Jesus does not tell us women are different. What a ridiculous statement. You have got to be kidding me.

Lets see,,um Galatians 3:28 anyone?
And I referr you back to an actual verse that says there is no difference between jew or greek..which is similar, but note NO DIFFERENCE. Is the holy spirit different in a man than a woman? Does he give differnt gifts according to gender? What about the fruits, do women get love, and men only get peace? Or do only some get self-control?

Romans 10:12

I am so happy for you saint. You live in a perfect Christ ctr world. It's been my experience not to tell a woman to suck it up during child birth let alone tell her that her monthly cycle shouldn't have any effect on her disposition.
You my friend live in a bubble. There are real embarrassing issues and serious issue only for the ears of the same sex.

All the scriptures I talked about above as example is how Christ liberated women as well as spoke to the women only side.
Might do you some good to read the book of Ruth and ask yourself who counseled who? And why.

That verse refers to salvation, not the obvious gender differences that older women can help younger women with, and the same for men. Some folks just want to be contentious.

Yes by liberating woman at the time of reformation God liberated mankind, the bride of Christ. Freeing both to love one another just as the father loved the son .Men and woman, children doing the priestly duty of getting the gospel into the world.

Like you it seems, as if read you actually my OP Im not being contentious, am simply asking why.

If am being contentious is only because I am contending for the faith once delivered to the saints.

Note that it does say the SAINTS. Not just men, not just women, not brothers only, not sisters only, the saints. The body of Christ. Corinthians tells us that we cant say we dont need each other. The eye cat say, I dont need you you a toe. Ok, men and women have different body parts. But if we are one body...we cant say we dont need each other even if we different!!!! Even if you marry, the husband has power over the body of the wife and the wife over her husband why because when married they are ONE flesh. Not two.

You only know that because youve lived and relate with women, great!
If you lived only with men youd have no idea what to say to a woman.

Im not embarassed by being the supoosedly weaker sex, thats why we need our men. :) and the men need our help cos honestly, what a state the church would be in if all the women left and had their own church.

Also book of Ruth shows that BOTH women needed men in their lives. Ruth got Boaz and Naomi got a grandson. They werent left alone by themselves in a womens only shelter. And Boaz knew he needed Ruth, she was a really good worker.
