SO what....that proves nothing concerning the drivel and blather you continue to whine about
See how offensive DC is when he posts? This is why I have been calling him and others out.

You conflated bearing fruit with bearing fruit to perfection. (post 98,163) The verse I used in reply shows that a Christian is in the process of bearing fruit while his fruit is being perfected

No, they say we are continually being cleansed.

and there's this

Acts 11:9- But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

and Peter took these words to mean...

Acts 10:28- ...but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

So what....love is a process of growth and maturity.....regardless of your inability to grasp that truth.........
LET the LOVE of GOD be PERFECTED IN YOU <-----MATURED PAL
See right here you conflated bearing fruit with perfection of fruit.

We love as we grow to perfection of love.

In other words, we are bearing fruit (love) while we are growing to maturity.

That is why Jesus said, everyone who BEARS FRUIT is pruned by the Father to BEAR MORE FRUIT.

Sorry, Bill, the troll part was added accidentally. I was not calling you a troll. I was going to reply to U.G, because they did the same thing to me on two of my posts.

Also in Acts 15:9, the word "purify" has the same meaning as cleanse. Same Greek word, katharizo.

Acts 15:9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

What I was trying to get at is if the quote was talking in completed past tense.
So if we have been cleansed it's a past completed action and not a continuous action based on what we do or do not do.

I think it's both. Acts 15:9 makes it a past action and 1 John 1:7 and 1 John 1:9 make it a continuous action.

One is cleansing for salvation. The other is continual cleansing for fellowship

Just like we were forgiven once for all for salvation, but 1 John 1:9 speaks of continual cleansing for forgiveness, not for forgiveness unto salvation, which has already been accomplished, but forgiveness in the sense of keeping our garments clean

John 13:10- 10 Jesus said to him, “He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean..

you have refuted nothing- you said " new Christian- able to bear fruit'

so, let's think- new Christian - bearing fruit. you used the word " able ". so, by doing this, you very carefully say that a new believer is supposed to be bearing fruit.

or, in other words, if the answer is " yes, a new believer is able to bear fruit" your next comment would be, " well, if they are able , then why are they not?".

so, use the plausible denial tactic all you want, me and some others see right through it.
Anyone who has a elementary knowledge of grammar knows that there is a difference between "I am able to bear fruit" and "I am bearing fruit"

So you and several others do not have an elementary knowledge of grammar or you are guilty of double think

I think you are educated, so I assume the latter, not the former

1 John 1:7-8

all present tense verbs.

if we are walking (Present) in the Light as He is in the light, we have (present) fellowship with each other and the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son cleanses us (present) us from all sin. If we say (present) we have (present) no sin, we lie (present) and the truth is (present tense) not in us

Also...

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Purifieth is a present tense verb, meaning it is an ongoing process.
