Sadly thats what happens when you take literal events and make them symbolically fulfilled. You start to lower your expectations. And things such as this wall that has stones standing still can still be part of the temple. Because we are not literally interpreting the word anyway.

But then they can not see it. Jesus said not one stone will be left.. So what? should we symbolically interpret his words to mean a few stones will be left, But most will be knocked over? Or that Jesus meant what he said, and ALL stones will be knocked over.

It makes no sense.
Tradition is a funny thing... What gets me is that there is much more evidence than just a few stones. The actual geographic location of waterways necessary for sacrifice for example.

It will not get you sent to hell..lol

It will lead you to misinterpret scripture.. if scripture is meant to be interpreted literally. The same as taking scriptural allegory and interpreting that literally.

We are the living stones of the true spiritual temple. Any Temple built in Jerusalem wherever its located will be a false one. Why I ask is there such an obsession with this subject? The Devil is having a great time keeping some focused on this whole delusion. If
the Israeli Knesset stand up and proclaim Christ as Lord and Saviour I would be one of the first to praise God for their conversion
Up until now there doesn't seem to be much indication of that happening any time soon.

i have an allegorical mind.

i automatically as i read bible read it like that sometimes.

like all the language about skies opening up and birds falling and all that. i see it as non-literal because of the destruction of edom in isaiah 34. the language makes it sound like nobody survives, but in context we can see its just judgment on edom

its also in isaiah where God rides on a cloud to egypt. i dont think thats literal and didnt happen, but its judgment coming thats what it means

but i just see it that way. the people in that time spoke like that, very colorful language
i like it, they werent boring westerners.

if bible was written today it would be like this:

section A: a meteorite will land on coordinates X,Y and will cause third of the area to burn up, equaling a land area of 20m2

lolz. we would be so precise and clinical with it. like a engineering manual

Aahhhh, then that's precisely where we disagree... Christianity has gained much ground in Israel over the last 30 years or so. There are many in Israel who question whether or not to rebuild the Temple and revert back to old ways.

Why do you think there is an obsession?

Prophesy said rome would take over and destroy babylon and be far greater, When Greece was in power. Do you think people who were talking about the bible obsessed that rome would over throw Greece, even though at the time it was a nothing city or power?

Its not obsessing over some stupid temple. It is obsessing over what Gd said WILL happen. The temple only happens to be a small part of those events. Why do you obsess over the temple? When we are discusing many events which are yet to come?

Interesting point of view. But with regard to prophecy, the writers of the Bible had to be colorful and creative because they could not have possibly understood the visions that they were given.

Here's what I see taking place AFTER our Departure/Rapture (in this order):

--the "whose COMING/arrival/advent/presence/parousia" of the man of sin "IN HIS TIME" (parallel with: Dan9:27a[26 - "prince THAT SHALL COME" ("for ONE WEEK [7-yrs]")]; Matt24:4/Mk13:5 "G5100 - tis - 'A CERTAIN ONE'"; the INITIAL "birth PANG [SINGULAR; 1Th5:2-3]" at the START of the DOTL time period; aka the "1st SEAL" [rider on the white horse with a BOW (often meaning 'deception')] when Jesus will "STAND to JUDGE" Isa3:13; Rev4-5; Lam2:3-4; etc)--so this is 2Th2:9a "BEGINNING" (just like Dan9:27a is at the "BEGINNING")

--"who OPPOSETH...EXALTETH...SITTETH" [in "the temple of God"], 2Th2:4 "MIDDLE" (just like Dan9:27b's "MIDDLE")

--"whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy [annul] by the appearing of the coming/presence/Parousia of Him" 2Th2:8b "END" (just like Dan9:27c's "END")

[... but my point was speaking to the "the temple of God" thing, there ^ … and this is well AFTER our "Departure/Rapture"... So this phrase "THE temple of God" is referring to... what?? (also in Rev11:1 shown there to be clearly DISTINCT from "THEM that worship THEREIN")]

:D Sorry, much of that was placed there based on PREVIOUS convos I've had with Melach, which convos would have the foundational things I've not named HERE (so I was talking to HIM about what HE was saying in his post... Not sure he remembers any of our previous posts, but I was jumping off from that point rather than rehashing it all here ;) )

Basic point: some believe there will be NO FUTURE "temple" on the earth (because, as they suggest, WE are "THE temple" now... not that Melach was making that point ;) ).

But I've pointed out (I think, in his and my past convos) how there is never a "definite article" ('the') where Scripture is referring to US (as "temple")

… and yet in 2 places (that refer to "future times"/eschatological contexts), the phrase "the temple of God" is used (WITH the definite article 'the'), and I wondered what HIS take was on that. Does he believe that this suggests there WILL be a [physical building] kind of "temple" (in the trib years) or will there not be, and why he might think so (in view of these verses: 2Th2:4, and Rev11:1 which latter verse clearly distinguishes "the temple of God" from "THEM that worship THEREIN").

Hope that helps clarify. :)

^ so my original question to Melach had been:

TheDivineWatermark said:

"Mmhmm, and once WE are outta here, what happens on the earth following that...?" [meaning, with regard to "temple"]

… and the REASON I asked that, has to do with the post I just made before this one (the point I made there). :)

[could it be the case that "in the place that God shall choose to place His name there" will be in play, seeing as (in my view) WE/"temple" (not "THE temple") will no longer be present on the earth, following our "Rapture/Departure" ('IN THE AIR")]

Well, if you're pre-trib, for 7 years the restraining spirit, us, will be removed.

Yes, that was the point I was making in the very first sentence of my Post #34 :

Here's what I see taking place AFTER our Departure/Rapture (in this order):

… so "WE/'temple'" will not be present on the earth at the same time that the 2Th2:4 / Rev11:1 "THE temple of God" [tangible centrally-located building kind of "temple"] will be...

[one of the purposes of our Departure/Rapture]
