Been pondering and examining humility, as it applies to our relationship and usability with the Most High...

Then Moses said to the Lord , “Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”
EXODUS 4:10 NASB

And Abraham replied, “Now behold, I have ventured to speak to the Lord, although I am but dust and ashes.
GENESIS 18:27 NASB

Saul replied, “Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel, and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak to me in this way?”
1 SAMUEL 9:21 NASB

Then David the king went in and sat before the Lord and said, “Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house that You have brought me this far?
1 CHRONICLES 17:16 NASB

Solomon said to God, “You have dealt with my father David with great lovingkindness, and have made me king in his place. Now, O Lord God, Your promise to my father David is fulfilled, for You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth. Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this great people of Yours?”
2 CHRONICLES 1:8-10 NASB

Thus says the Lord , “Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest? For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being,” declares the Lord . “But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
ISAIAH 66:1‭-‬2 NASB

Then I said, “Alas, Lord God ! Behold, I do not know how to speak, Because I am a youth.”
JEREMIAH 1:6 NASB

Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me—to keep me from exalting myself! Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 CORINTHIANS 12:7‭-‬10 NASB

Introspection, as it pertains to self examination, is such a slippery slope. It can be a tool for honesty of who we are and are not in comparison to who He is and what He is not. He is without limits and He is not Human. We are bound by what we are and are not, which is human. He is deity, while we are flesh and bones. He has authority, we have none outside of Him. See, that is healthy and accurate, right? However, our focus must remain on and in Him, not just who we are in Him. This has been something I am still working through in my head, avoiding the to and fro tossed about ideas. With His guidance, I seek to grow. So bear with me, as I think out loud...not intending to elevate my thoughts or preach to you Brothers and Sisters.

Anyway...

There is a line of humility that should keep our hearts humbled before Him, but that in His Victory, we are able stand boldly before Him.

As a wretched sinner, I have spent a great deal of time (ugh@time wasted), reflecting and lamenting, whilst hanging myself on the cross, instead of focusing on His time on the cross. Through His great patience in dealing with a mind set on thinking of itself in regards to Him, He has interjected Himself beyond myself, Praise His Holy Name. He is helping me realize that there is work to be done on my part, yes. It is, however, by meditating on His work, then taking the assignment given to me, walking out the tasks given, following His lead every step of the way. Not who am I, what am I, how am I, but who is He, what is He, and How does He...

I notice that all the influential leaders in the word had humility, they realized that of themselves it was impossible to do what was asked. They took their humble estate and turned to the One and Only, the great I Am, who for whatever reason chose them. Even Christ Himself came as a humble servant. They didn't spend their time in their insufficiency, in who they were or were not, but in His sufficiency, in Him alone.

May our hearts kneel before Him, for we are merely vessels to be used for His Will and Purposes. I don't know about you but for me I get chill bumps of honor, thinking about this privilege He gives and allows us. May we never take Him or our calling lightly. Oh Lord, Lord, we thank You and praise Your Holy Name.

Succinctly...

Succinctly...

the key, it seems, is to NOT spend our time on us, on who we are or are not, but on Him and service to Him and others. I have found this to be what His idea growing up is all about.

Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of Hosts (Isaiah 6:5).

Luke 9:23 - And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

Denial of self is humbling yourself while presenting your body as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1). It is recognizing my moral and spiritual poverty, that there is no good in me and that I am unable to serve God in my own strength and power. We see this in the first three Beatitudes (Matthew 5).

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Take up your cross is seen in Matthew 5:6.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

I am filled by God's provisions found in Christ by placing my Faith exclusively in Christ and Him Crucified (Believing who Jesus is, and what Jesus has done), and I receive all the benefits of this Resurrection Life by understanding that we have been planted together (Christ and ourselves) in the likeness of His Death (Romans 6:3-5).

The Believer who believes that God is in total control of their life is yoked with Jesus (resting). Matthew 11:29-30

All that I have stated is not a work of labor but an act of Faith by believing only.

Faith without works is dead, i.e., Faith without believing only is dead.

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

3 Blessed (happy) are the poor in spirit (conscious of moral poverty): for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven (the moral characteristics of the citizens of the Kingdom of the heavens; and so it is apparent that the New Birth is an absolute necessity for entrance into that Kingdom [John 3:3]; this Kingdom is now present spiritually, but not yet physically).

4 Blessed are they that mourn (grieved because of personal sinfulness): for they shall be comforted (what the Holy Spirit will do for those who properly evaluate their spiritual poverty).

5 Blessed are the meek (the opposite of the self-righteous; the first two Beatitudes guarantee the "meekness"): for they shall inherit the earth (speaks of the coming Kingdom Age, when the "Kingdom of Heaven" will be brought down to Earth, when the Saints will rule with Christ as its Supreme Lord).

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus. I love You! I give You praise and honor; I Glorify and magnify and bless Your Holy Name – Hallelujah! Father God, I humbly come to You, asking for Your grace and mercy; Your help, power and anointing. Let Your Spirit descend upon me and perfect that which concerns me. I recognize my moral and spiritual poverty, for I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) dwells no good thing. It is of Your mercies that I am not consumed, because Your compassion fails not. O wretched and vile man that I am! At my best state is altogether vanity. I know I am unable to serve You in my own will power, self-will, strength, ability, and power. Without Jesus, I can do nothing. But today I confess and place and maintain my Faith exclusively in the righteousness of Faith of Christ Jesus, Your beloved Son in whom You are well please (and whom I will listen too) and the Cross of Calvary where the victory was won, so that His life would be lived through me. And I receive all the benefits of this Resurrection Life by understanding that it is His life that brings victory, and we have been planted together (Christ and myself) in the likeness of His Death (Romans 6:3-5).

With my heart, I believe who Jesus is and what Jesus has done. He is the answer to every question, the solution to every problem, the strength for every weakness, the life for every death, the salvation for every sin, and the health for every sickness, and the Grace for all things that are needed. I thank You and praise You Father God, for the most precious gift in Heaven, my Perfect Sacrifice and Saviour Lord Jesus Christ who died on the Cross for my sins. He bore my sins that I may bare His Righteousness. He was made a curse and His body was broken that I may be blessed by remembering what His Blood has done. He became poor, that through His poverty I might be rich. He carried my sorrows and infirmities, and bore my griefs, sicknesses and diseases; and by His stripes I am healed. He Blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His Cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. He was raised from the dead without my sins, and I have been raised in Him. And today, by faith I sit with my Lord my God, Jesus Christ, at Your right hand resting in His victory (what He did) at Calvary Cross, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.

In Jesus Mighty Name - Amen

As a wretched sinner...
This is not an accurate description of who you are but rather, you are a humble spiritual servant of the Lord. Perhaps you were indeed a wretched sinner at one time, like we all were but God has washed you, cleansed with the blood of Jesus and remembers your sins no more. You could feel guilty and tell God that you were sorry about a sin that you have already confessed to, He would just scratch His head and wonder what you are talking about. How we see ourselves is not necessarily how God sees us and that is what is really most important.

A wretched sinner saved by grace.

Heb 2:6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

I see what you are saying. I believe you are saying that He saved me once and for all from the wretched sinner in me. It is time to receive Him and His Grace once and for all.

Thanks Brother. I am reminded to look at Him, not at me.

Yes indeed, because His grace is sufficient. He told some guy named Paul that once who said something similar about himself and pleaded 3 times for God to remove the thorn in his flesh. It is not about who we think that we are but rather who we really are with the grace of God working in us and through us.

Without humbleness we cannot have a relationship with God, for we are putting ourselves on the throne instead of God.

God resists the proud, but gives grace unto the humble, and pride goes before a fall.

Which is why Paul was given a thorn in the flesh, like preventive medicine, so he would not get exalted above measure for the abundance of revelations God showed Him, and God working in his life, for if Paul got arrogant then God could not use him.

If we keep ourselves humble our lives will be better, and if not humble God might allow something to come against us to show us we are but a mere human.

God did not touch Paul to afflict him for He is good, but He allowed a messenger of Satan to buffet Paul with a thorn in the flesh.

We have to be humble, and not look down on people, and not lift ourselves up in pride that we are better than people in the world for living for God.

Hello sweet CharliRenee,

Good News! You are loved and accepted in the Beloved! He is well pleased with you!!!

We need to be careful, sometimes pride hides under a cloak of false humility - kind of like a martyrdom complex to manipulate or get attention.

We no longer live under guilt, condemnation or shame. Hallelujah! Thank You Yeshua/Jesus!

We stand boldly and confidently in His great love for us!! Unashamed, completely loved.(y)

God doesn’t want us beating ourselves up, the world beats us up enough!

Humility is wonderful!!! It doesn’t beat us up, it puts us in a position to receive from God and give and receive from people.

Ever see someone having a hard time receiving help from someone?

God bless you abundantly with His love especially just for you! You’re very precious in His sight!!!

Thank you for being a tremendous blessing to all of us on cc!:love::love:

J was trying to do a study on humility after looking at an old testament survey by Douglas Stewart. It took me into finding the different places where we see how He works with His ppl through humility.
I think that the way I presented it dropped the ball, to be honest because the of the responses. But to be honest, it could be my approach in several threads, maybe my tone in general.

I appreciate your honest feedback. It helps me see things more openly, widening my horizons. I am receptive and appreciative, sincerely, for your feedback. I was not even wanting to make this about me, not at all, just how I can use it in my own life and faith. Its purpose was about the many He used in the old testament. False humility, pride, or attention seeking is NOT where I want to be. So I will take in and receive what you are saying. I like what you said about Him not wanting us beating ourselves up. I agree. The thing is, I think He wants us reflecting on Him more, not on ourselves and who we think we are, but in what He is calling us to be.

Thanks again for your feedback. It definitely causes me to pause and reflect. Thank you.

CharliRenee!!!!:love: You sweet precious sister!!!:love:

I just wanna give you a big hug and ignite a belly laugh in you from the Holy Spirit flowing!!! Lol!!:love:

I know what I just said sounds silly and a bit crazy but, we need the love and joy of the Holy Spirit flowing in all of us - so refreshing!

Yes, you are correct! Our focus is to be on God - the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Ever notice “who” you talk about when you’re in love? Always about them.......

All we need to do is what Yeshua/Jesus said..... Do not leave our First Love.......good works are good until they pull us away from our First Love.

First Love helps us stay focused on Yeshua/Jesus. We accomplish so much more for Him and the Kingdom of God when love does it.(y)

Seriously Sis, I appreciate you and your wisdom filled with heart. I think we all can learn from you. I know that I often do. Yes, i like that practical observation... Who do we talk about when we are in love. I still stand by appreciating your feedback. I totally see what you were saying.

Well on a lighter note, Sister, you must know you are NOT silly or crazy ..we need the love and joy of the Holy Spirit flowing in all of us - so refreshing...that is spot on.

SO please yes extra side order of belly laughs.

Hugs n loves.
