By active, I mean working through people (particularly people in the OT) before the time of Jesus? What do you think? Another question: Do you believe the Holy Spirit is mentioned in the OT?

John 1:1-3
Gen 1:1-2
Job 26:13
PS 33:6

Father, Son and The Holy Spirit were involved in the creation.
I never tire of this Scripture applied to so many questions about our Maker..

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

I'm sorry but what does what your saying has to do with the question? Was the Holy Spirit active in the OT yes or no?

Please support your answer if you choose to.
Yes, without Him there would be no new testament. How could he not be active?

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

The Spirit was there in the beginning, and started the creation.

Jdg_6:34 But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered after him.

Jdg_11:29 Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead, and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over unto the children of Ammon.

1Sa 16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

The Holy Spirit is God in invisible action, and Jesus is God in visible action, which is why the Spirit moved upon the face of the deep, and moved upon people, and is active in a saint's life.

God did the creation by His Spirit, for whether Father, Son, or Holy Spirit, they are all a Spirit, and the Bible says the Lord is that Spirit, and the Bible says no person has seen Jesus, and no person will ever see Jesus according to Him being an invisible Spirit, and Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit according to the flesh.

The Spirit had to work in the Old Testament for God works by His Spirit.

1Co 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him.

Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Isa 52:5 Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.
Isa 52:6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.

Pro 30:4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?

Joh 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

Heb 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Joh 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Joh 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Father- parent of the saints.

Son- God's visible relationship to the saints, man Christ Jesus glorified body.

Holy Spirit- God's invisible relationship to the saints.

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Joh 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Rom 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh.

Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

It appears there is only one God, the Father, and the Son is the man Christ Jesus, and God is a Holy Spirit, and Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are titles for the 3 relationships God has with His people, parent, visible, invisible.

In Creation...in Genesis. In Genesis 6 God says "My Spirit will not always with man"...and all thru the OT you read "...the Spirit of LORD came upon ____" So yeah, He was quite active.

Indeed, it was Jesus and the Holy Spirit doing all the works of the OT.

John 8:58 "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am."

Exo. 3:14 "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you."

Exo. 4:12 "Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say."

That is Jesus promising Moses the Holy Spirit.

The 3 Persons of Godhead ALWAYS act in perfect unison and harmony. The Father wills...the Son acts...the Spirit superintends. Nobody ever acts alone. Any manifestation of God, every statement of God in the OT is .Jesus. But He is carrying out the WILL of God and the subsequent action is overseen by the Spirit.

9 As Saul turned to leave Samuel, God changed Saul's heart, and all these signs were fulfilled that day.
10 When they arrived at Gibeah, a procession of prophets met him; the Spirit of God came upon him in power, and he joined in their prophesying.
11 When all those who had formerly known him saw him prophesying with the prophets, they asked each other, "What is this that has happened to the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?"

you contradict your original statement, If God the Father had the Holy Spirit work in the Old Testament then HE the Holy Spirit was active. You can't make a statement as you have and then reverse it. Just say you were wrong and move on.
