Please pray for me, I have nightmares

Read the Bible before you fall asleep and first cast this care over to the Lord, for He cares for us. If you are watching any horror flicks, I'd give them up (that's if you are). If you have a prayer partner that's close, ask them to agree in prayer that you are delivered from that, God bless.

I don't mean to pry, but are you able to give us more detail on the nature of these nightmares? Do they appear physical (e.g. blankets pulled off, limbs grabbed, entities watching you) as you sleep, or just horrible dreams? Either way, prayer and bible reading help, and also praising He who saves us, and speaking to Him, and reading His word aloud.

Hello Excalibur, I will be praying for you. I have had times off and on in my life when I had such nightmares as well. I'm so sorry that you are dealing with this kind of spiritual oppression and harassment. I encourage you, if you are not already, to read your Bible faithfully and to continuously remind yourself of the truths of God-- strengthen yourself with His courage, cling to His mercy and protection, and if you do have any sin in your life walk away from it and destroy any kinds of leverage that our enemy may be using to torment your soul and your mind. Before you lie down to sleep remind yourself again that God is greater than anything that can come against you. There will come a point where you will even learn to call on the name of Jesus in your sleep/ in your dreams for His power to protect you and fight for you.
Is your husband a believer? Have you talked with him about your nightmares? If so, maybe he could start praying with and over you before you sleep as well.
Here are a few verses that will start you off.. Be strong and hold on, Excalibur.. you are not fighting this battle against the night terrors alone. <3
Psalm 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?

The nightmares are not physical. I have had a couple of physical nightmares (sleep paralysis) but they completely went away when I called on Jesus during the nightmares and have not returned since.
However, I keep having some odd dreams when it seems like some evil spirits are mocking me and calling me out for the sins of my past and causing me pain, anguish and fear. Usually, during these dreams I am not aware that I am dreaming and I am not able to call out to Jesus and I can only pray when I wake up. I am dedicating time for God every day.

Thank you so much! I feel that the nightmares are a result of my recent conversion to Christ. My hubby is a traditional Christian, but not a religious one so he doesn't really pray. I have yet to grow in my faith and it seems that these spirits are here to oppress me to keep me from building a relationship with Christ, but that only makes my faith stronger because now I see the dreams for what they are.

You mentioned that your dreams often relate to sins of the past. Do you deep down feel and know that you have been forgiven? Because you have been, I’m just wondering if maybe that why it’s about that.
Something that helped me when I had this struggle was to pray for others before falling asleep and or listen to worship music before falling asleep.
