That's the problem right there. You're using coconut oil.

Greens should be simmered in a pot for a long time with a little fatback to flavor them.

I mean really, does nobody know how to cook a pot of greens anymore? Y'all need to come down to the South and learn how to cook real food. :p

Tuna fish and oreos... been doing it for about 20 years. So good!

White gravy and ketchup mixture...dunk your fries into it!

Biscuits (the breakfast bread kind) with tamarind candy.

Hot cheetos and nacho cheese (maybe not that uncommon but you need to try this one!)
As weird as it sounds... I think I'm going to try the tuna and Oreos.

The words of bue_ladybug...
"Gurl, you are one sick puppy.. lol"

So I gave this a try. Two of my sons tried it also. They were grossed out by it.

I won't eat that again, although the tune did offset the sweetness of the oreo. That's all the good I can come up with.

There might be something wrong with your tongue. 😁

olive oil icecream
It was vanilla flavoured ice cream that contained olive oil, not olive oil flavoured ice cream. The addition of the olive oil gave it a creamier texture and an unusual taste. Yes I know I am weird!

The weirdest thing I do foodwise right now is using a fork for burgers. I am doing keto and skip the bun, though. Lettuce wraps can be a mess, so I prefer my burgers sort of deconstructed. Luckily, keto is enough of a thing nowadays that most places serve them like that if you ask for no bun. They give you plastic utensils with it, usually.

Years ago I tried a piece of dark chocolate with some Taco Bell hot sauce on a dare. It was surprisingly not bad.
This will be the next thing to try.

I know what it is kind of -
There was time when we had nothing but rice and soy sauce and it is surprisingly delicious if you mix is just right.
It is kind of unrelated to this thread but I worked as a tutor at an after school program teaching math in high school.
I earned $42 per week and would get a fried rice for a buck and play arcade for a dollar's worth.
That fried rice.. didn't have much in it but it was freshly stirred fried with rice and soy sauce and some veggies - best tasting fried rice.

Have you tried rice and hot milk sis? Or rice topped with condensed milk/powdered milk and sugar? Or rice with just plain sliced tomatoes? Rice is good with almost anything.

Hot rice with soy sauce is beautiful. Sometimes when I feel like something salty I turn to that.

Wrong thread. This thread is for WEIRD food combos. Rice and... well, rice and just about anything really... is good, not weird.

But speaking of coffee... down here in the South we have a thing called soaky bread.

Short version: Take a cathead biscuit, break it in half and plunk it in your coffee. Eat it with a spoon.

You yankees, I declare... :p

A cathead biscuit is a big, fluffy buttermilk biscuit about the size of a cat's head. Or bigger. You can't get them in restaurants or supermarkets. They have to be made by somebody's momma in her kitchen.

That sounds like a good biscuit! I might have to try that.

It really isn't that bad tasting. Doesn't anyone believe this😒
I like greens in fruit juice, Ruby :). I think straight juice is usually too sweet anyway, so I like adding kombucha or having one of the juice drinks w/ greens in it :).
