Hey everyone God bless you all. I’m writing this evening because I’ve really been struggling with anxiety. It started a few years back when I almost got kidnapped by an Uber driver. Let’s just say I haven’t felt comfortable ever since getting in a car with an unknown person or riding public transportation. I know it’s bad, and it makes me feel sick to my stomach at times. I even pray to my Heavenly Father asking him to give me strength to overcome this battle and these obstacles I’m facing. I pray for stronger faith too. Does anyone else in here struggle with anxiety and worry? I have a daily devotional journal of Gods promises that I read and write in to help me. I also read some of the scripture about fear and anxiety. I feel like this is a spiritual battle.. Father God please help me and have mercy on me. Please forgive me for my anxiety and forgive me for my lack of faith. I crave and desire stronger faith with our Heavenly Father!! I really do! But the anxiety just creeps up on me! I feel helpless at times..and when I’m on the bus I’ll put on my praise and worship music or start reading the Bible or listen to my Christian podcast to help me stay calm. Sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn’t..when I feel uncomfortable about someone on the bus then that’s when my anxiety kicks in. Please pray for me, brothers and sisters in Christ 🙏🏽😞 ..I really need the Heavenly Father to strengthen me, I can’t do this alone. I pray that he isn’t upset with me or think I don’t believe in him. I do believe in him and I do have faith in him.

I struggle with anxiety too on some occasions. I will pray for God to alleviate your anxiety and replace it with blessed assured hope. God is certainly not upset with you because He understands the human condition quite well. He said that He would neither leave or forsake you so rest assured that you are not alone in this trial.

I've struggled with anxiety for years, and have known many others who have as well. It has absolutely nothing to do with a lack of faith. Your brain misfires adrenaline and this causes the anxiety. Mostly once developed it never completely goes away. It can be minimized, as has happened with me.
Adrenaline is what causes the 'fight or flight' response, which kicks in when we feel we need to stand and fight or run away. It's kind of like a boost for people. But when it's given at the wrong time, well, that's what you're feeling.
And it comes as no surprise the kinds of conditions it tends to fire up for you with. Rather than berating yourself for a lack of faith (which, by the way, will only feed the anxiety) try getting some counseling. You may have some trauma going on as well and that won't go away with music or reading.
Medication is not always required, especially if you start getting help earlier on. Or sometimes it's only needed temporarily while you get counseling. But treatment for what happened to you will probably do the most good.
In the meantime try using Gaba. It's a natural supplement i use when i have anxiety. It won't work as strongly as a prescribed medication but it can help take the edge off. Getting capsules you can put into a bottle of water is the best method.

I have faith in our Heavenly Father that He will set me free from anxiety and give me the strength and courage I need to overcome. I just need to take it one day at a time. I know I can get through this but only by the strength of Jesus. I can only do it through Him, I can’t do this alone. I know he’s with me every step of the way. ❤️

He isn't upset with you! Everything the Lord provides us is a gift :)
I don't want to speculate... but this could be how He has decided to bring you closer to Him.

Please don't look at anxiety as a penance but rather as a gift.
I know anxiety is horrible to deal with but it is also a great challenge that you can grow & learn from!
The Lord is pushing you to get to know yourself better from this unfortunate incident.

"Will it be well when He examines you?" - Job 13:9
"Examine me, O LORD, and try me; Test my mind and my heart." - Psalm 26:2

On most occasions, anxiety sufferers turn away from their faith or turn to substances & personal destructive behavior. I can tell you that the Lord is 100% proud that when dealing with a sudden onset of anxiety you have chosen to become closer to Him; turning towards your faith & scripture when dealing with your anxiety attacks.

I too have dealt with trauma... the feelings you are experiencing are very normal and can be alleviated by professionals who are trained/have gone to school to help those of us who have been victims of crime.

With the guidance of a trained professional I think you have an excellent chance at a full recovery. Before turning to supplements or feeling defeated (although having turned to worship, scripture, and your Bible but not becoming 100% cured) I really think you would benefit from speaking to your Pastor/Minister or obtaining a referral to a counselor/psychologist who deals with helping folks like us through traumatic incidents. Most Pastors provide Pastoral Counseling and are trained to listen, guide/calm us, and help us become better versions of ourselves!

The Lord only brings a few of us significant challenges like this because He knows we can fight it & He will eventually lead us through it!

That is how I manage life's challenges also, by taking it one day at a time. God is indeed with you every step of the way. Each morning before I go to work I pray for God to calm my fears and give me strength, courage, and wisdom to do the best that I can with what He has provided for me to work with. It is always sufficient.

I’m sorry to hear about your struggles, friend. I’m praying that God will provide healing, comfort and strength to you. May He draw you closer to Himself and give you guidance as you trust in Him. Have you considered counseling for your situation? I know that Focus on the Family can provide a free phone consultation with a licensed counselor if you call this number 855-382-5433. Also, you might also be interested in doing some reading about this topic such as bit.ly/2wSeyYm and bit.ly/2vKaclK. Hang in there!

I think one of the BIG takeaways of your Uber experience should be that Your Heavenly Father was with you, and protected you.

Embrace that. He LOVES YOU! You are His little daughter. You don't have to fear. Know that He ALWAYS has His Eyes on His Children. Be at peace sister.

Thank you, yes, you’re right about that. He was definitely with me that day. I do need to embrace that more. God bless you 🙏🏽☺️

Definitely! :) I can’t do anything right without the Father. I’m so weak and helpless without Him. It feels so good knowing how much I REALLY need Him, and that He’s ALWAYS with us and will NEVER leave nor forsake us.

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

I hope this helps you with what I am about to write...
I have suffered with mental illness for over 30 + years of my life through trauma after trauma , and when I got saved , my anxiety , the devil attacked my faith so much , that my fear over rode the promises of God...

So what I done , and what I still do , is find the Scriptures in the bible where it speaks about fear , and write them down , and place them in your bag/purse , and when out and about , pull them out and read them , learn them until they are written on your heart , just take a few out with you to begin with , before you know it , you will be knocking satan behind you , and memorizing Scripture to the point you will no longer need to carry them around with you on paper , because the Holy Spirit will bring them to your remembrance...

Jjesus said " Come to me all those who are weary , are you weary , tired , fed up with it all , then cast your burden on Him , and He will carry you because He is faithful...Praying for you right now...xox...

Thank you so much! God bless you 🙏🏽☺️ ..I actually just wrote down some scripture about fear, anxiety and trust the other night on paper. It’s such an amazing feeling when we can memorize and add scripture to our prayers. I have so many I want to memorize lol. I need to do a few at a time. Learning more and more of God’s word every day and asking for wisdom, knowledge and understanding of it all. ❤️

I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps.
Jeremiah 10:23
