I’ve wanted to try something similar but can’t eject myself from life to commit fully. I have thoughts on how the brain uses different fuel when glucose isn’t available. I wonder after a certain point if there is a fuel that gets implemented which connects us more strongly to the Spiritual rhelm. Or perhaps it’s the shutting down of the carnal function that allows the spirit to be more dominant. Regardless, if you wouldn’t mind giving updates regularly it would be appreciated. Be blessed on this journey to hear our Lord with clarity.
yes is I’ve been able to get into the spirit a lot quicker and last night I had an amazing revelation, I recently purchased T.d jakes new book crushing, I was up will 3 am reading this, it’s an incredible book. A profit came to me and told me I have the key to someone becoming a follower of Jesus Christ. Someone in my family that has been hurt by a church! On day 9 now and my energy is pretty high worship music is everything litterly feeds my souls and body energy.... I felt like working out today lol I didn’t because I was told not to but yeah I’m feeling great. Thank god it’s worth it’s everyone should fast it’s in the bible for a reason I believe.

I’ve been wanting to try fasting but haven’t yet. I need to pray about it first and see what Abba Father says. I have my own reasons on why I need to fast. Has anybody in here tried the Daniel fast? If so, what were your experiences? I think the water/juicing fast would be too intense for me at first. I’m anemic so I would need to have foods or juices with plenty of iron in them. I’ll get dizzy and light headed without food.
Yup. I just found that out the hard way. I just finished a three day fast yesterday and my body just now COMPLETELY rejected the :coffee: and ham sandwich I ate this morning:sick: My dumb. You have much more common sense than I.

Prayer and God's blessing,
oyster.

P.S. I feel much better now:)
oh no, yes never solid foods and meat it’s too soon lol be careful! But congratulations that’s great 😃

Matt. 6:16-18 "Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly." :)

Just because you fasted for two weeks does not mean that it's healthy for your body. And fasting for THREE MONTHS definitely is not good for the human body!! Water washes away electrolytes, a vital nutrient for a body. And not eating for 2 weeks, or 3 months, isn't good because you're not getting ANY nutrients at all. The human body is designed to run on food, not water only.
‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

I’ve been noticing that people announce their fasting WHILE they are doing it. We’re supposed to keep it a secret or there’s no reward for us. We need to be careful. And like the verse says, anoint thine head and wash thy face. Don’t appear to others like you are fasting with a disfigured face. Thanks for posting this☺️

I was reading dr. Myles Monroe’s book and he said the exact same thing I had absolutely no idea about this... but in my heart I was trying to gain more scripture and people to encourage... that is the only reason I chose to speak about it but next time I’ll do better.

To put it mildly, no one should go without water for more than a few days.
Our whole bodies rely on fluids for breathing, taking oxygen from the lungs to the body,
and for transport of energy from the digestive system to the rest of the body.
If you lower your fluid balance, there is a big increase in chance of clots and strokes.

Water is also not a food. It is a means of transport and needs to be maintained at a
reasonable level.

Here is a simple article that covers this issue
https://www.businessinsider.com/how-many-days-can-you-survive-without-water-2014-5?r=US&IR=T

The idea of fasting from food, is so that one can focus on the issue at hand.
Fasting from food for 30 days is possible. The body will switch from burning carbohydrates to burning
muscle and fat. This is not pleasant and at the end care has to be taken coming off such a fast or
the chemistry change in the body will kill you.

So extreme actions described here have to be entered with great caution.
Hello FopllowHisSteps,

Just FYI, when she says "a 30 water fast" she means that it is actually 30 days without food while only drinking water during that time and not 30 days without water.

I just wanted to post the true definition of FASTING - The willful abstaining from natural pleasures for SPIRITUAL purpose.
Fasting without this purpose will result in failure. In the bible on several occasions it says we should all fast even children and breast feeding mothers... I know I was shocked also. I will abide by this forever! Please don’t be fooled by what a lot of people call fasting as Christians we must abide by the biblical terms of fasting. God bless everyone and thank you for the support on my journey! Day 10 so far I might extend this fast to 40 days, I’ll pray hard about it first though. Sorry for announcing or whatever but it’s kind of to late if u know what I mean ...

It’s difficult at first because the toxins your used to eating want to be fed and your basically saying no but the body wants it... the stomach is our greatest controller if you cannot control your belly you’ll always be whipped by the flesh as dr.myles says I believe that! I think that the body is quite still while fasting your hear and smell everything... everything is heightened including the spirit and you’ll be able to sense darkness a lot faster! God ultimately sees that your sacrificing the one thing every human has to do & blesses your for that sacrifice. I’m on day 10 now also doing pretty well 😊 thank you for asking for updates means a lot. Be blessed

Hey Everyone 😊 I’m going through a 30 day water fast. Im doing it to achieve mental clarity, help my asthma & strengthen my relationship with God! I am new 2 this whole chat thing so it should be fun. Does Anyone have any good scriptures on fasting or mental war fare? #BeBlessed
The first thing I would say is, don't tell anyone when you fast. It is supposed to between you and God.

Regarding fasting, Jesus rebuked the Pharisees and religious leaders, because they did everything, (praying, giving, their works and fasting), to be seen by people. Jesus said, they had received their reward in full, which was the praise of the people. But regarding fasting Jesus said:

"And when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they try to look miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. I tell you the truth, that is the only reward they will ever get. But when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face. Then no one will notice that you are fasting, except your Father, who knows what you do in private. And your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

The up side of it is that we get to pray for you and with you. God knows your heart. Godspeed. Don't be tempted by those nasty ham sandwiches.:)

Welcome Ebs! Will pray for you during your fast. Many blessings.

Joel 2:12-13 “Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.

Luke 2:37 Then she lived as a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the Temple but stayed there day and night, worshiping God with fasting and prayer.

Do you have a book, chapter and verse for this? I don't remember reading anything about breastfeeding mothers being required to fast.

I enjoy learning about the body and mind. Have you read much about what is physically happening inside your body? Do you work or have to still go about doing chores? What you are undertaking is quite remarkable from a scientific standpoint. I’m sure there are some people who would be quite interested in your lab results if you had some done. The Creator engineered us so brilliantly. I believe that fasting is a way to connect more strongly with the Almighty, but it’s the how that perplexes me. I’m curious what hormones and chemicals are at play to make this possible. I’m curious if there is truly a DMT connection. Most people who go days without eating are doing so involuntarily, or reluctantly, so there is a lot of stress involved. This changes the hormones being released, and will alter outcome. Thank you for your continued updates. I hope you have someone with you to make sure you are safe. We wouldn’t want you getting in a car accident that will cause injury to yourself and others. I’m inspired to do my own fast, in search of some of these answers for myself. Be blessed and don’t lose focus. The point is connectivity to God not to see how long it takes to injure the body from deprivation. There is a difference between not allowing your cravings to control your actions and causing irreparable harm to your brain and organs from neglect. You want to hear Him...without seeing Him.

I have never really understood fasting. I thought that anything after the cross was purchased for us through the suffering of Jesus. Through the grace of God, whether it be healing, forgiveness etc. Some say they get closer to God, how much closer do you need to get if he lives within you. Getting back what the enemy has stolen has already been done through Jesus on the cross. His last words were "Finished" Some say the annointing in them increases. The annointing is the Holy Spirit, a person as such, how can he increase. The idea of fasting to "get something" from God whatever it may be was already done through Jesus not fasting. I don't mean to sound disrespectful to those who follow fasting I just feel that all things have been purchased through Jesus not your fasting.

Mark 2:19-20 Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? They cannot, so long as they have him with them. But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and on that day they will fast.

Fasting isn’t for favor, it’s for focus. My son is a goaltender in hockey. He always plays best when “starving”. When your stomach is empty is releases ghrelin, a neural peptide initiating hunger. When ignored, it releases other hormones and chemicals that clear the brain and improve focus and clarity. I assume it’s what God engineered to make us better survivors. If our goal is finding sustenance at that moment we should be more successful. If it’s to discern God’s plan for us, again, it should bring success. What happens to the brain if this process is prolonged is a mystery, but there are no miracles of Christ recorded before His fasting in the wilderness. Many people of many faiths have “spiritual experiences” from fasting. Weaken the body, strengthen the soul.

Thanks Hungry I can understand it the way you have written it. Something that may improve focus and clarity and not as works of the flesh to receive the favour and blessings of God.:)
