Do sheep fight each other. Nope. Goats do. Also they fight sheep, they cant be together, they are bullies.
I'm pretty sure sheep do fight each other (why do you think rams have horns?) And all types of animals tend to fight each other. I think you are being a little unfair to the poor goats with this way of thinking.

Not following a higher power eg God can be a sign of stupidity, because people can think they are right, but end up on the road to hell. This is why Jesus said in his parable he separates goats from the sheep because goats are selfish animals. But sheep willingly lay down their lives for others.
I think Jesus compares us to sheep to show how stupid we are, and that we do not have the faintest hope of preserving ourselves, but for the Good Shepherd. The goats on the other hand, who are fairly intelligent creatures, are separated for destruction. If the goats, which are easily 10 - 100 times more clever than sheep, cannot save themselves, how much less the sheep, who don't even understand what the word "clever" means?

If it was to do with our own selflessness, I'm sure Jesus would have picked another animal (e.g. a dog) that was less selfless than a creature that is probably too stupid to even understand what being selfless is.

Regardless of all the deficiencies (or perceived deficiencies) of sheep, the real issue is THE BIG BAD WOLVES prowling about to devour the sheep (on which this OP is focused).

What we find on radio and television is a good example, where they also fleece the sheep.

But I think the deficiencies of sheep are important to realise, because we are the sheep. And those with more admirable traits - power, good looks, respect etc. - (that rely on these for their salvation) are not. We are saved not for anything of our own power, but by the Good Shepherd alone.

Yea thats true, im thinking someones trying to blame sheep for not being wolves. GOd is talking about the nature of animals, and He does not actually say sheep are stupid. Thats just peoples misperception.

What sheep represent to God is His loving kindness, His faithfulness and His sacrifice. Because our God is a good shepherd. Not a wolf.

Another thing about animals is that people think to have cunning or craftiness like a snake is good, but actually people can be taken in by their own craftiness.

Gods ways are higher than ours, we might lean on our own understanding and think we are clever. But actually its not, its better to lean on God, because His ways are not our ways. So sheep, following a shepherd, are always kept safe IF the shepherd is good...example being JESUS. We arent left on our own because we have Jesus.

Now I can tell you how STUPID I was before I followed Jesus. I just thought I could go my own way, but I always got lost. And if I followed anyone else, that was also stupid too. One has to train ones ears to listen only to Jesus. What everyone else says is really nothing. If you decide to follow Jesus, theres no turning back. So dont let others distract you.

Wolves are brute beasts designed to destroy, they arent to God of any value in their nature like sheep are.
Why is this because wolves are also selfish creatures and can be vicious. When Jesus says feed my sheep, feed my lambs, really think about what he means. He doesnt mention any other animals. Why did John the baptist say Jesus was the Lamb of God? Because way back in Genesis, one gave their life so adam and eve could be covered.

Even Jesus says it is good, but He also says to be innocent as doves.

Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

I'm a big fan of wolves. Unlike humans, they stick with their mates until death do them part. They only kill what they need to eat. They are smarter than dogs, including bichon frises and they have the brains to prove it. They also are big contributors to the well-being of our ecological structure. And they are good-looking as you can see above.
Yet, they devour sheep.......hmm

My what big teeth you have.

I suspects someone is being naive or just ironic.
Maybe they are one of the paid pastors who enjoy fleecing the flock. After taking the money, they will run.
No surprises there.

Jesus was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver. I mean how much do these wolves think they can get out of the sheep its like they look at people like they are dollar signs. Another member, another way to enlarge their coffers.

HE is the good sheperd . Jesus referenced us as sheep b/c of their gentle characteristics and their willingness and meakness to follow and trust that he will protect and care for them. Tending them they follow His voice and GO where He leads! The wolf will attack those that are weaker,he seperates the flock to destroy and kill. Jesus used analogies that The People understood to make a point....Jesus secured us at the cross, the devil is againgst Him,therrfore us. We MUST follow being AWARE!

There's no such thing as a tough child - if you parboil them first for seven hours, they always come out tender.

We need professional pastors, teachers, theologians, people who dedicate their lives to study and
ideas, because upon this foundation we have an assured faith and understanding.

The bible is so big, no one individual can encompass it all, and all too easily complex and difficult
issues get distorted and changed which can be seen everywhere from the prosperity gospel to the
RCC.

Gods people need encouragement and proclamation in the best ways possible, using every
technology and opportunity to share the good news, God is love, and desires that we might know
this and walk in it, Amen.

I found really intersting, in my walk with the Lord, is the more I listen to Him, the less time I have for other peoples nonsense.

For example. Joking around, people do it, unbelievers use jokes to mock people and think they clever and funny. But I dont join in and laugh with them. Its just cruel. If I hear it, I dont encourage it or listen to it.

TV. Many people have nothing better to do than watch rubbish on tv. With Jesus, I always have better things to do. It could be serving or if im having a time of relaxation I will choose to read a good book. And God will show me a book to read, I have more time to read the Bible. GOd hs never said to me I want you To mindlessly watch tv. If there is something really good on, someone will call me to tune in, but Im not just sitting there exposed to lies and commercials for hours at a time.

Facebooks and forums. Heaps of people go on these and they are not all your friends. And some that befriend you are not your friends. You dont have to follow them and you can use the ignore button. You can also block callers from calling or txting you.

Churches. If theres wolves identified in some churches, you can go to another one. You are not bound to one church forever. God will give you a way to escape bondage.

Now if you happen to be married to a wolf thats another matter, but even so God gives you wisdom to escape and deal with it if youve made a mistake and been naive.
