Are you saying that we are saved by faith + obedience/works?
Sure he is.....another Cainologist identified as one of the many that come before the throne claiming Jesus as Lord and a right to enter based upon all the wonderful deeds he has done in the name of Jesus.....

.
Just been having some thoughts on Jesus words , must be born of water and
spirit Any thoughts on whether this refers to water baptism and Holy Spirit
baptism

I'm guessing it's very likely in connection to Jer 17:13. John 4:10-14, and
John 7:37-39. If so, then the water isn't for bathing, rather, it's for drinking.

Obedience is simply compliance or submission to an order or authority. Works are acts of merit two very different notions.

Example: The Hebrews were told to apply blood to their doorposts in order to avoid the angel of death. Their compliance was the act that lead to their protection. No merit required but death was the outcome to those who did not submit. The Hebrews could not rely on just their faith in the act but the act was the point to safety.

Don't know what a Cainologist is, could not even find the word on Google. Going to have to explain its meaning before I can reply. As far as I know, wonderful deeds don't merit salvation.

Cainologists --> in Jude false teachers are compared to three men....Cain being first on the list.....We can deduce from the following facts that he had a faith plus works mentality...

a. He obviously knew of God and made an offering unto God

b. He offered the works of his hands

He was of that evil one...of the devil....

A cainologist is one that blends faith plus works FOR SALVATION OR TO KEEP OR TOP OFF SALVATION.....

faith PLUS OBEDIENCE indicates that type of mindset.......

oh you need to read more. Cain wasn't rejected for offering work of his hands, he offered the first fruits of his crop, he couldtn offer sheep as his brother had all them.

Genesis 4:3-7 (KJV)
3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Hebrews 11:4 (KJV)
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

1 John 3:11-12 (KJV)
11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

Matthew 23:35 (KJV)
35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

and before people jump on Cain further and so all offerings are meant to be blood offerings,

Read
Leviticus 2:1-16 (NIV2011)
1 “ ‘When anyone brings a grain offering to the LORD, their offering is to be of the finest flour. They are to pour olive oil on it, put incense on it
2 and take it to Aaron’s sons the priests. The priest shall take a handful of the flour and oil, together with all the incense, and burn this as a memorial portion on the altar, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the LORD.
3 The rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons; it is a most holy part of the food offerings presented to the LORD.
4 “ ‘If you bring a grain offering baked in an oven, it is to consist of the finest flour: either thick loaves made without yeast and with olive oil mixed in or thin loaves made without yeast and brushed with olive oil.
5 If your grain offering is prepared on a griddle, it is to be made of the finest flour mixed with oil, and without yeast.
6 Crumble it and pour oil on it; it is a grain offering.
7 If your grain offering is cooked in a pan, it is to be made of the finest flour and some olive oil.
8 Bring the grain offering made of these things to the LORD; present it to the priest, who shall take it to the altar.
9 He shall take out the memorial portion from the grain offering and burn it on the altar as a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the LORD.
10 The rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons; it is a most holy part of the food offerings presented to the LORD.
11 “ ‘Every grain offering you bring to the LORD must be made without yeast, for you are not to burn any yeast or honey in a food offering presented to the LORD.
12 You may bring them to the LORD as an offering of the firstfruits, but they are not to be offered on the altar as a pleasing aroma.
13 Season all your grain offerings with salt. Do not leave the salt of the covenant of your God out of your grain offerings; add salt to all your offerings.
14 “ ‘If you bring a grain offering of firstfruits to the LORD, offer crushed heads of new grain roasted in the fire.
15 Put oil and incense on it; it is a grain offering.
16 The priest shall burn the memorial portion of the crushed grain and the oil, together with all the incense, as a food offering presented to the LORD.

No need to attack me for having a different belief to you . I read scriptire and ignore doctrime

Do you think Abel did not work with his hands too to help the sheep, to protect them to water them, to make sure they fed. How is this different from Cain planting grain and allowing God to bring forth the increase.

It had nothing to do with Works. it is al labout God can do as he chooses and we have no say in it.

Similar to Job . he wasn't attacked by Satan because he did evil. the complete opposite. but still God wants us to not complain and think that there has to be a reason.

God does as he wills . he is the potter. he is under no laws to do as we think

You obviously don't read or study the bible....it had EVERYTHING TO DO WITH HIS WORKS AND LACK OF FAITH....so genius....in the following verse what does it say about Cain, his works, who he was of and why did he kill Abel....!!!

Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

Okay, got it. You are saying I am of Cain because I believe one must submit in order to receive the blessings of God. You believe the insistence on compliance as a work of salvation. Am I correct?

The entire Passover is a model or simile of Jesus Christ, who is OUR Passover Lamb.

It is true that the HEAD of the household had to apply the Blood on the doorposts. But ONE person did this for the WHOLE family, and sometimes MULTIPLE families. The application of the Blood by the One was sufficient for ALL inside. The blood did not have to be applied by each member, ONLY the Head of the household. This is a MODEL of the One who applies His Blood to us.

JESUS IS OUR HEAD!

In YOUR model, I could produce 1000+ Born Again Children of God by applying Christ's Blood FOR them, instead of letting Christ apply that Blood. By very definition a works Gospel!

Wow eight dislikes - I must be preaching the truth

View attachment 200702
For the record, that symbol does not stand for dislike, but "disagree". They are simply saying, they disagree with you.
Dislike is the downward pointing thumb.
But generally, those who disagree with what you wrote, dislike the same.
To say you must be preaching the truth because 9 people disagree with you, is assuming they are of the devil and you are not.
Or it could be your way of coping with rejection.
Either way, the question remains to many, what does the water represent?
Is it physical or spiritual?
If it is the physical or natural kind, then is it the water of the womb of a pregnant woman or the kind we get baptized in?
If it is spiritual, then what is it, how to we get it, and what do are we suppose to do with it?
Do we drinking it and/or get submerged in it?
If spiritual, then is the water, the Spirit of God, the word of God, or both?
I personally am not convinced the water Jesus was speaking of was physical, but spiritual.
I'll explain in another post.

Amen.

I would offer from another perspective. The Holy Spirit said; when I see the blood, I will pass over you. Not when we see it .We walk by faith. It moves us to paint the promise.

Clearly blood and water both represent the same thing. Both are used as the same kind of metaphor. . . . The unseen work of God "pouring out His Holy Spirit" on all corrupted flesh of every nation. The promise of Joel. The new manner of prophecy after the tongues of all nations no longer the Hebrew nation alone. .The reformation has came.. .A sign to the unbelieving Jew and world.

God has given us the faith to see the use of both used to represent the unseen work of God who is not a man as us pouring out His Spirit life in jeapordy of the unseen Spirit .

Both water and blood are used in the parable below to represent a living sacrifice .The blood poured into the ground Like Jesus's blood is used to describe where it came from…lifeless spiritless dust.

Great parable in the old testament, preaching the suffering of Christ beforehand and the glory that did follow. (1 Peter1:11)

There using David a man who would never stand in the holy place of God the invisible presence as a abomination of desolation.

Pouring out water as if it was blood is clearly used to symbolize the unseen work of the Holy Spirit, pouring out his Spirit as if it was blood or water. .

I would offer. David seemingly feeling isolated hearing of a victory of the Lord without him having some doubts .Sort of like when John the Baptist was prisoned. It would seem the lord as a mystery of faith used the flesh to teach of the famine for hearing the word.
It would seem it have awaked David's courage' to beleive. . . that the Spirit of Christ that dwelt in him knowing he began the good work and promised to finish it. Pouring it out giving glory to God unseen according to that parable.

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that is at the gate! And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the Lord. And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mightie 1 Chronicles 11:17- 19

With the jeopardy of our Saviors life pouring out Spirit he bought us.
