Yes that is so.

But I believe if someone does not listen to secular music, then neither should they watch movies.

Its just the same concept.

Everything won't be perfect until we get to heaven.

Scripture says we must not be over righteous.

Hi, I'm New.
As a person who always looks for meaning in songs, in my experiences with secular music playing at work, I found out that if a song does not explicitly say something that is contrary to God's will, it can always be interpreted in a religious way that helps remind us of the truth we received from God. Automatic reinterpretation of songs as I hear them has become a useful habit that helps me stay focused on good things while doing ordinary things of this life.

It all comes down to how you define "worldly" music. As followers of Christ, we should test the spirits and discern what is good, true, excellent, and God-glorifying -- no matter what the label may say. Unfortunately, I find a lot of "Christian" music these days to be not very honest, true to life, or excellent for that matter. Some "secular" music may in fact be more God-honoring than a lot of Christian music. (Although there is a lot of garbage in both camps.)

I used to be really dedicated to listening to only "Christian" music. I've found a lot of it can be quite shallow, I don't know if the industry is playing it safe like the mainstream pop industry does but there's also some amazing music out there that glorifies God.
In my journey, i've found I can trust my spirit to discern what it doesn't like, if I hear something that is not within the genre of 'christian' and it grates against my spirit, I won't listen to it any longer. By way of practice we learn to discern.
So now that i've discovered i'm free of that must-be-only-christian mindset, i'm finding so much enjoyable music. I love music, i've learnt to appreciate all genres, though I don't listen to all genres. I respect the work each person puts into their craft.

Here's some lyrics to a song that i'm dissecting at the moment, it's not 'christian' and i'm quite fine with that :)

I don't think there's anything wrong with listening to secular music as long as the lyrics are satanic or something
I've always been a Metalhead. I know there's Christian metal out there but most of it sucks.
