JOHN 1:5-7, 1:19, 1:35

It's not about being followed by people,
but it's about being a follower of God.

As a witness of God we should tell people to not only follow us but also to follow Jesus more importantly.

People should not follow people. They should only follow God. :)

Paul called those who he preached to, to follow his example as he followed Jesus

1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
1 Cor 11

7 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you,
8 nor did we eat anyone's food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you.
9 We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to follow
2 Thess 3

Of course, discernment should be exercised in whether or not to emulate the example of other fellow Christians but I understand what you are saying. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

Amen. That is such a great truth. It is so easy to fall into the trap of wanting to be liked and followed and getting all those nice little trophies. The Bible says we must die to self and live for Him. To God be all honor, majesty, and glory!

John Baptist's witness and testimony was awesome indeed!

John
1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
1:30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
1:31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
1:32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
1:34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
1:35 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
1:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
1:37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

Thanks, brother Nowel!

The testimony of Paul:

1 Corinthians
1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
1:13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
1:14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
1:15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.

Let all be done and all glory given to Christ!

Luke
17:9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
17:10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

Great is our eternal reward. That is enough. It is infinite.
