I think it important, especially since this was said...

Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?

2 Corinthians 13:5 NASB

While our faith should be evident, I think this touches so much on the works debates. Wait now, I seek not to beat the dead horse with rhetoric of why I believe this or that on this important topic. I just think that this asks us to make sure our hearts and mindsets are on the get to rather than the have to.

And how do we do that? I do not believe it means to ask ourselves are we doing enough, are our thoughts and actions pointing to Christ, merely to get salvation, but instead simply because we trust Him and His will because we sincerely love Him.

How do we know we sincerely love Him?

As one example, I ask myself:

Charli Bear, lol, are you trying to gain approval of man, including your own approval, or are you seeking Christ therefore sincerely love Him and others? He has humbled me in this arena more than once.

Anyway, enough about what I think it means to test yourself. I am curious, how you test yourselves?

Is it merely... study to be approved?

Any thoughts?

I know I amnot worthy on my own by anything I could think of to do other t5han to believe Jesus, Yeshua in all He teaches.

My faith is to await His finishing the work He has begun in me, as in all who believe Him, and to do my best, which is quite lacking, to please Him always……….All love and blessings for this difficult question. I believe Jesus......all love in Jesus, Yeshua..j

Dear Sister my thoughts on examine yourselves daily! Where is my standing in the word? In faith? In actions? In attitudes. In prayer? In motives? In love? I check to see if what I say I believe and do is backed up scripturally! If it isn't then I apply what Jesus said" seek and ask". He never leaves us and He is the truth. He sent back for a guide unto us who believe and follow Him the Holy Spirit! This is of course my opinion and will most likely receive grunts and dislike but hey " ON WELL" . LOL🙏🙏🙏

Just an awesome question sister! I look forward to others thoughts on it.

For me, does sin bother me? When I get angry or upset with someone do I later regret and say I'm sorry. Do I easily forgive them?

Do I desire to be with God and my brothers and sisters more? Do I eat the Heavenly Manna, His Word, everyday, and do I love His Word?

Grunts and dislikes, on how you test yourself... heaven forbid. Imo, sis, you are not leaving anything out in regards to what you test. Your actions, words, and intentions matter greatly to you because of your reverence for Him and the word. At least, this is what comes across to me. I think something you pointed out to me earlier applies here. Since only we know our lives, and only God truly knows our hearts, it is so important that we seek His thoughts on the matter.

Thank you Brother for your kindness and encouragement, as well as your insight.

Oh I like that, does sin bother me? Does Jeremiah 15:16 (clearly a fav verse, lol) resonate truth in my own heart and life?

Dear Lord,

Please be patient with me, guide me, lead me first closer to you. Keep me from compromising or contradicting my words with my actions. Help me to be settled in you Dear Lord, Amen... and when it is right for me Lord, bring me peace. I want accountability and I want You first and foremost. .. Lord only you truly know my heart, and you know what's best for me.

In Jesus' name...Amen.

The best way to relieve fear is to pray about it. But not
at the time it is happening. Pray when you're happy
and content and nearer to God so you'll feel His comfort.
We all have our hang ups we are not perfect,
not one of us. It is important to pray to God just to be in
His presence sometimes even when we don't ask Him
anything. We just come to a quiet place and say here I
am Lord, I want to follow you every day. Let His Spirit
answer you, rather than listen to an actual voice.
And we love Him by surrendering to Him. So what does
that mean in English; Lord, your will and not mine be
done, I will follow You wherever You lead me. To You
my Lord goes all the glory.
