ARE WE RUNNING IN PLACE?

1Tim.3:1-7 ! I included the above verses to show we truly are in the perilous last days. I want to focus on v7. EVER LEARNING,AND NEVER ABLE TO COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH!. It seems to me as if we are continually discussing the same things (our beliefs) over and over again! Maybe we should ask OURSELVES what is the application of the TRUTH in my heart and life? I do understand it's a bible discussion forum but ppl let's be HONEST we are NOT discussing to learn but we are constantly arguing with those we are COMMANDED to love! Let's change this up and put OUR enemy on the run! We must stand United or be defeated! Let's discuss THE TRUTH! John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him,I AM THE WAY,THE TRUTH,AND THE LIFE:no man cometh into the Father,but by me. All scripture is KJV( my personal preference)

Always remember the truth has been repeated since Adam, and it is worthwhile for all who hae not yet heard it to believe.

Yes I agree! It is the truth found throughout the word that truly sets us FREE! I would dearly love for ppl to be more open and have understanding that not everyone that comes to these forums are born again! They are seekers of the TRUTH,we must be ready to give an answer to that TRUTH......Jesus! Always fighting and arguing about every jot or tittle can discourage even mature seasoned ppl in the word! Where is the salve for healing,the honeycomb of soft answers? I hope we all can come to agreement that WE don't know everything and WE all can still learn!🙏🙏🙏

We have dear, loving family members who have abandonned the CC because of certain influences that should not be. It is sad they leave, but understandable, and also this is not truly one of the assemblies of our Lord, but it is an assembly regardless of the content, there are wonderful people here, family. I came here looking for true fellowship among the body of Christ,and yes I have found those who are! I have been blessed to interact with love and kindness!

I just ignore the threads I already answered or the ones that are not an issue with me, cos God has already answered them in my life.

I also, for edification, and testimony will give an example of what God did in my life, rather than repeat the same scriptures over and over. Why because God will change your life when you apply those scriptures, and give you understanding on what they mean.

You dont need to answer every single thread. If there is a question, its good to search scripture to see if things are so, and to learn from each other. But you dont even need to answer if you dont know. Leave it for others who DO want to seek.

Negative people and critical people seem to want to spoil it for everyone but theres always again, a report and ignore button for trolls, and people who arent here to learn or discuss, but to complain and spread lies.

Remind them that Jesus is the name above all names, when they lose sight of Him. A pastor once said to me the answer to everything is JESUS. He must have been asked hundreds of questions when hes pastoring.
But it has turned out to be quite true. Jesus has the answer to everything.

Some questions
Prdesitination? JEsus was predestined before the foundation of the world.
Is it wrong to be a workaholic? JEsus went around doing good works
Do we obey Jesus in order to be saved? JEsus said you are my friends if you do what i command.
Are we running in place? Dont know what you mean by that but Jesus gives us the authority to cast out demons.

We, as the children of God, do not struggle against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12), but against those things that have already been defeated (Colossians 2:14-15). We do not fight FOR victory but rather from a place of victory which God calls “In Christ.” Satan has been defeated through the Cross. Principalities and powers have been spoiled (Col. 2:15). We are enforcing this victory through applying the Cross of Calvary to the pulling down strongholds by placing and maintain our Faith exclusively in Christ and the Finished Work at Calvary Cross where the victory was won, i.e., "The Blood of Jesus." Our source of Power is the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

If we place our faith in Christ and His work at Calvary, the Holy Spirit can take control of our lives and order our path, but if we are trusting in anything other, the devil, the world and our flesh will dominate, deceive and destroy us (Romans 7:11).

Again, you're never going to get a consensus here. One man's truth is another man's heresy. It's funny, the Bible says God is a god of order and unity, but look among the professing believers here in the BDF and you'll find nothing BUT disorder and disunity. And not a single soul willing to question what they THINK they know.

I agree and thank you! Yes you have warned me before but I must have either a greater than I can comprehend or I'm just simply stubborn. We must however NOT just give over and allow these to either stunt others growth or turn them completely from the TRUTH. Thank you for your wisdom and please pray. I came here seeking also! It is rather unfortunate that the same truths have to be repeated over and over again. If you examine the titles of many threads in BDF you will find all kinds of weird and bizarre ideas being constantly brought forward and promoted. Not to mention ancient heresies.

One of my favorite passages regarding Paul's use of "running" is in 1Cor9 (note: the context of the chapter is set up in vv.1-3, see those verses, about his vindicating his apostleship [overall context of, like, chpts 9-13, if not the entire epistle, actually], and then the "are YE not my work in the Lord" and "for the seal of my apostleship ARE YE in the Lord" and the "my answer to them that do examine me is this")...

So vv.19-27a say,

19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, [...]


Now, where he has mentioned the "stephanos/crown" (that we "run" to "obtain" an INCORRUPTIBLE crown), keep in mind that elsewhere [and also in view of the entire context above, plus the intro of vv.1-3 I mentioned (but didn't quote)] elsewhere Paul calls those to whom he has preached (and they have accepted his msg: Christ/are believers) HIS [PAUL'S] "crown" ("19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown [stephanos] of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?" [because, "believers"... IOW, they have heeded the msg Paul was tasked to give, just like in 1Cor9:1-3,19-27a shows, the context there; his "running to win/obtain" pertains to those who HEAR his msg and have believed it. He is not wanting to HINDER that msg (that he was tasked to give) getting across, which is the context of that chpt, esp the concluding v.27])

I do have to say that while I ugh at personal attacks, assumptions, (ugh ugh ugh), impatience, stubbornness, mocking, and arrogance, especially within myself, I do enjoy a good healthy debate/discussion. The potential for learning is fun and exponential.

Sometimes, I wish folks could narrow down the word count, so we can take it bit by bit, verse by verse, but as you know, Sis, I too go on and on and on myself...lol. Look, I'm doing it again.

I want that because some here are far more biblically savvy, know more greek and Hebrew, etc. I am not at their level of study so in other words, bless my heart....hahaha, bit by bit, please, lol.

I think God designed us with different dispositions, different perceptions because He knew we needed stuff to hash out and fellowship about, lol. We just miss the mark in our fallen ways. I do this His Truth matters very much, in all that we think, feel, say, and do.
