the letter to the Galatians was written as a warning to not turn from trusting Christ for salvation and turn back to keeping the Law of Moses. so, yes, in that instance " falling from grace " means turning back to the Law.

I hope you are not one of those Bible-thumpers who just throws out verses and attaches your own meaning instead of actually knowing what you are talking about. don't be that guy. you make us all look bad.
You hope correctly!

But, I try to take the whole NT into account before formulating doctrine.
Do you?

E.G. Where's your reconciliation of ALL of the NT verses
on both sides of the OSAS - eternal security issue?

I.E. So everything falls into place, is understandable and acceptable.
Hint: it's extremely important.

Have you ever seen any NT verses which warn about the Holy Spirit leaving us?
But, even though He dwells in us ...
we can still become estranged from Christ and fall from grace (Galatians 5).
Agreed?
I do not know, because the apostles did not know. They talked about falling away, which appears
to be a very bad thing. Maybe the elect never fall away in truth. The emphasis is always on
abiding and walking with Jesus as this is life.

There are many NT verses, which are supposed to teach us, warn us, etc. that salvation can be lost.
That statement simply confirms what I have already said. That you do not understand the Gospel, the grace of God, the finished work of Christ, and God's plan of salvation. It is up to you to search the Scriptures for the truth about this, and what God means when He says this: Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (Hebrew 7:25).

"Fall from grace" is not loosing salvation.
"Falling from grace" is turning back to the law.
This is jigsaw theology, which makes no sense.
There is a conviction people get and then they fit verses and theology to make sense of it.

So not abiding in Jesus is not being destroyed, it is being saved but having the flesh burnt
or evil burnt out of us. Everything that is a warning of a no way return, is turned into just
a rebuke and disciplining. So in this idea a head first plunge off a cliff is just a bungy jump
with a spiritual bungy, you are really safe. Bit of a problem when the whole foundation of
faith is wrong, and the security is none existent and the closed heart has shut Jesus out.

I know of people who have lived their lives thinking they knew Jesus and themselves only
to discover everything they were was just what other people wanted of them, and who they
were was always hidden even from themselves.

There is no other way than speaking from the heart and knowing repentance, Jesus, and
love. If one has never had this, these words will mean nothing, which is very sad, but testimony
enough. There are testimonies of people who do wake up, and the Lord moves and everything
changes. If one is diluting Jesus's words, you are definately not on the right track.

The apostles

Other than Judas, all went to their deaths praising God.
So losing salvation was not part of their walk.

All the verses we have are about the Kingdom of Heaven is walking in Gods will on earth
and desiring it comes to earth now.

Why some want a free ticket so if they come to hate God, He will still accept them is
beyond me, because there are no examples of God ever doing this, rather they are all
thrown into the lake of fire. And the rebellion is freely chosen with open eyes.

Hebrews describes at length those who know God and freely choose to walk away,
choose their own destiny.

God bless you

Yes, the present tense of the word "justified" in Galatians 5:4 implies that these Galatians were contemplating justification by the law. But had they fully come to that place yet? They were obviously getting side-tracked by legalistic teachers, but I don't see the words "lost salvation” there.

Galatians 3:3 reads: Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? The middle voice implies "making yourselves perfect" by means of self effort. The present tense indicates that the action is in progress and that there is still time to correct the error.

If it was a done deal that these Galatians lost their salvation, then why did Paul have confidence in them? Verse 10 - I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will have no other mind; but he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is. In verse 12, Paul uses hyperbole, As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!

Some posting here are either being coy or do not know the Word.

We know it is written that faith without works is no faith at all.

We know that no one is saved by obeying the law, it is the gift of God.

We know that the works referred to are not the works of the law but obedience if we read Ephesians, and we understand we were once children of darkness, disobedient, but now we are children of the Light, that is children of obedience.

Read and understand Jesus when hE TEACHES US OF THE TALENTS OF GOLD AND THE TRUE SERVANT.

stop NITPICKING OVER A WORD HERE AND A WORD THERE AND LEARN THE CONTENT OF WHAT IS TAUGHT.

aNYONE WHO IS TRULY SAVED, THAT IS, HAS RECEIVED THE GIFT DOES NOT SIMPLY SAY THANK YOU IN THE light SHOWN, THEN WALK BACK TO DARKNESS. hE REMAINS IN THE Light and conducts himself accordingly, that is he does the works of God.

All of your sins (past, present, future) have been forgiven

“For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness,
and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his OLD sins.” (2 Peter 1:9, NKJV)

>>> “OLD sins” is also in the KJV, RSV, NLT, AMP
“… having forgotten his purification from his FORMER sins.” (2 Peter 1:9, NASB)
>>> “FORMER sins” is also in the ESV
“… forgetting that they have been cleansed from their PAST sins.” (2 Peter 1:9, NIV)
>>> “PAST sins” is also in the HCSB

John is writing to his fellow Christians …
“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all wickedness (unrighteousness).” (1 John 1:9, NLT)
This is an extremely important verse … all men need to be repeatedly purified from
all unrighteousness – from all their sins … We must confess our sins and turn from them
… We must also confess them with our actions … (John) is talking here about repentance
… we must hate our sins and turn from them. This is true repentance.
(The Applied New Testament Commentary; Dr. Thomas Hale, missionary to Nepal)

Paul warns the errant Corinthian church that their …
“godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation” (2 Corin. 7:9-10, NKJV)

You are now righteous

“… you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living …
So now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living” (Romans 6:16-19)

“… let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous just as He is righteous.
He who sins is of the devil … Whoever has been born of God does not sin (habitually)
… In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest:
whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God” (1 John 3:7-10)

“… who fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him” (Acts 10:35)

“But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness and a godly life
… pursue righteous living” (1 Timothy 6:11, 2 Timothy 2:22)

You are now holy

“… give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy.” (Romans 6:16-19)

“work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:14)

“God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin … live in holiness and honor.
… God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives. Therefore, anyone who refuses to live
by these rules is not disobeying human teaching but is rejecting God” (1 Thessalonians 4:3-8)

“you must live as God’s obedient children … now you must be holy in everything you do,
just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, ‘You must be holy because I am holy.’ ”
(1 Peter 1:14-15)

You have been saved and you can never lose your salvation

“… you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether (slaves) of sin leading to (eternal) death,
or (slaves) of obedience leading to righteousness” (Romans 6:16)

“For to be carnally-minded is (eternal) death, but to be spiritually-minded
is (eternal) life and peace.” (Romans 8:5-6)

“For IF you live according to the flesh you will die (eternal death); but IF by the Spirit
you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live (eternal life).” (Romans 8:13)

“For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption (eternal death),
but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” (Galatians 6:7-8)

“Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved,
he will receive the crown of (eternal) life which the Lord has promised to those who
love Him … when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin when it is full-grown,
brings forth (eternal) death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.” (James 1:12-15)

Jesus often said. “Those who love Me will obey My commandments.”
Great post:)

Falling from grace does not just mean going back to the law. In the old testament it is repeatedly express that " and they did that which seemed right in their own eyes. It is concluded in Revelation in the letter of returning to your first love.
By God's design mercy and Grace goes hand in hand. Mercy is given by God which is shown by his patience and a Stern warning, which tells us we are in a grey area, repentance is needed to return to the walk of grace.
The walk of grace is not God turning a blind eye to failure but correcting us by conviction through his Holy Spirit. Restoring fellowship with God and his people cleansing us in the blood of Christ.
When the Stern warning is ignored and repentance is not found judgement may usher in and is determined by the Lord not to destroy but to reconcile you back to his grace.

TIT. 3:3.
For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures,
living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4.
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5.
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us,
by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of The Holy Ghost;
6.
Which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7.
That being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8.
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that you affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God
might be careful to maintain good works.
These things are good and profitable unto men.

How many trillions of times do I have to repeat ...

All of your above was true INITIALLY when you were born-again (if you actually were).
However, all that you initially received must be MAINTAINED through obedience, etc.
Trillions of times!!?? You been here on CC 5 minutes!

From my previous post ...
When people are spiritually deceived, they can believe all kinds of nonsense.

Dost thou believest that all the verses in the OP are lies?
If so, thou must really have the heebee-gbs, gb9!

Ignoring/rejecting the Truth does not make it go away!
It's always there condemning people.
And you are the one spiritually deceived and being used of Satan to preach heresy.

2 Thessalonians 2:11 fits you perfectly.

You need are prayers.

Quite obviously you do not really understand the Gospel, nor the grace of God, nor the finished work of Christ, nor God's plan of salvation.

Obedience to Christ is indeed necessary for all Christians. But that is not for maintaining one's salvation, but for working out one's salvation.
Just not scriptural. We must maintain ..."until the end"...death.
