The recipes included all look so good!
Stir fry cooking is one thing I haven't mastered, the chicken technique being part of that.
Can't wait to try it!

Personally, I don't believe Christians should dress their chickens up in fancy apparel.

I think this violates scripture.

1Ti 2:9 "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;"

True, this verse is about women, not chickens, but why should chickens get to do something wromen can't do???
That isn't right.

THAT IS THE ANSWER!
(Well, no....... Jesus is THE ANSWER, but as far as the chicken, yeah velvet it)

eggs, corn starch, and salt are kind of kitchen basics.......
rice whine vinegar is pretty cheap, usually around $3 or less.
It's usually in the cooking wines/ vinegar isle OR some stores place it in the ethnic isle.

hmm... you make it sound so un- complex, how will the chicken know if it's rice wine vinegar or good old apple cider vinegar, just thinking "out loud" . ha!
There is a you tube for everything it seems.

And then there is this gentleman from Australia who will show us 2 ways, I think I have a small glass bowl like he uses for the egg white, so I will have official Australian Velveted chicken! lol.

I get a daily from AllRecipes.com that showed how, the GG posted, then Maxwell commented on chickens being over-adorned ( we thought that was funny), then you commented, so I guess it is one of those "Great Minds Think Alike" deals. ha!

The exercise bike went well, and I am still enjoying the Curry Blake teaching and how 87% of illness comes from toxic thinking.
Philippians 4 teaches us what to keep our minds stayed on.
The chicken cooking is virtual for now.
6:16 there in western Australia?
It is 5:16 a.m. here

Well, a year later and I am still thinking about velvet chickens. :LOL:
Actually, decided to try a hand at stir fry tonight and this came to mind.
Was actually very simple and did indeed keep my chicken pretty soft and moist.
Just to bad the recipe I used it in was a flop.........
but I will be adding this extra step to recipes in the future.

recipe was a flop? Did you have sesame oil? I have found that to be a help. Oyster sauce? I just plain like that stuff!

the velveting was good. I thought i had the rice wine vinegar, but couldn't find it so I tried it with white wine vinegar and still had good results.
The broccoli in my freezer was a little older and had an odd taste, and the sauce the recipe made was very bland (thankfully I had stuff to fix it up ) but it was a quick "use up whatever's in the freezer and throw something together" kinda night, the velvet trick is definitely what saved it from being a total loss.

Your wonderful creativity got me stated looking for the slow cooker mongolian beef recipe I saw, then realized I needed something more broccoli inspired, then I realized I don't have beef, I have pork, then realized it isn't just pork, so much is pork sausage, and not just pork sausage, italian pork sausage, so I suppose I will be relying on the ginger, sesame oil, etc to make it do-able.
