Yup. You got that exactly right!
So all of those who confessed Christ as a result of his music... are they falsely saved too? Can something satan does lead people to Christ?

Nope didn't say that at all. And um...as to your second question... better read this ..

Genesis 50:20 New King James Version (NKJV)
20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

I have spent time reading about belivers who become athiests.
There seems to be a common thread.
I read about a guy. Can't remember his name but he led a big Baptist church in the US and leads the athiests society.

Per the guy on this thread we are taking about.

After emphasizing he truly wants answers to his questions, Sampson admitted he’s “struggling with many parts of the belief system that seem so incoherent with common human morality.”

“If most of humankind had a choice, would we not rid the world of the scourge of cancer? Or sickness and disease? Why doesn’t God do such a thing? Of course there is an answer to this question, but the majority of a typical Christian’s life is not spent considering these things,” he wrote. “Questions such as these remain in the too hard basket.”

I have and continue to analyze the arguments of prominent Christian apologists and biblical scholars, and am open minded enough to consider the arguments of atheist debaters and debaters from other religions,”

Why is the Bible full of contradictions? No one talks about it. How can God be love yet send four billion people to a place, all ‘coz they don’t believe?

Not the ‘I just believe it’ kind of truth.Science keeps piercing the truth of every religion. Lots of things help people change their lives, not just one version of God.

“All I know is what’s true to me right now, and Christianity just seems to me like another religion at this point,” he concluded.

Common

Human Morality.
Why is there sickness and evil.
Seeking atheist debaters and those of other religions.
Science is now the new religion whether he says it or not.
Christianity is just another religion at this point.

He says questions such as these remain in the too hard basket.
Yet it seems to me he is willing to throw away that basket and allow the basket of human wisdom to be willing to replace his faith.

I agree with Brown in his response

“So, don’t be afraid to ask your honest questions and to follow the truth where it leads. Just don’t do it superficially, and be sure to seek God first and foremost. And let’s pray for Marty’s repentance, restoration, and more.”

Is his Bible in the too hard basket as well? All the answers are in there if one takes the time to read it and ask God about those questions.

1 Phil 15: 15It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. 18But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.

Not surprised. All these hellsong guys are fake, phony and most of all SOFT

Men are too effeminate to handle the doctrine of hell(and a bunch of other doctrines) in 2019 in these mega churches. JUST CANT TAKE IT. They refuse to believe it. The only verses that mattter is John 3:16, use a little wine timothy for your stomach and everyone's favorite: DONT JUDGE, add in a bit of God is love and bam. YOu got the 2019 redacted bible edition, eartickling special.

I am glad to hear he quit faking the funk, now I wish and pray he would get saved FOR REAL

I will give everyone a great spiritual insight that will instantly weed out the biggest phony preachers: IF they are respected by the world today, you can bet on it. Shut it down
That is like saying "all catholics are fake"
The bride or remnant are found in most all churches.

If one is honestly seeking an answer from scripture and asks, I’m positive there will be an answer.

But,if asking as an accusation against God, the heavens may just become brass.

Saw a friend of mine about post this, I've lately become quite suspicious of big name worship groups.

I sincerely liked the song Hosanna when I was 16 at summer camp. Was one of the few songs that really got me into a private worship mindset, despite being a group setting. I don't know if any of you have had similar worship experiences...but it's like I wanted to be alone by myself and it felt kind of selfish. Quite confusing...

It is fleeting what I felt back then...Hillsong was definitely overplayed. It's like each year they wanted to play the new one that came out and get everybody interested in it. Twas annoying at the time. I'm still trying to figure out how I felt about "Happy day" by Hillsong.

I think that was the one that I just couldn't jive with...or at least it felt forced and I kind of stopped and was like...what's so great about this song? I often wrestled with that in youth group...like what are we even singing? Do I really believe this? Am I just singing along, do I truly mean it?

Some songs I just wouldn't sing. My heart wasn't there and it felt like I was lying and it was just lip service. Others were my jam...

I'm still pretty fond of "I'll fly away" though ;)

Had so much fun surprisingly when I was at this revival in rural south Ga almost 2 years ago.

Thanks for the thread...allowed me to give it some more thought.
I have never listened to Hillsong. Never will. All these neo-Christian bands are far too worldly for my taste. I don't even like the fact that they are involved in the "music industry".

Apparently, this performer has made the statement that he hasn't renounced the faith, but his faith is on shaky ground. So, he has not denied Christianity yet, according to him. We should pray for him rather than attacking him.

I don't think Pentecostal/charismatic theology is sound, and he would be better served by seeking a more sound expression of evangelical Christianity. If Hillsong is one of the groups claiming that miracles are happening left and right at their hands, that would lead to a shaky faith. I have talked to various ex-Pentecostals/charismatics, and there is a level of dissonance they experience due to their organizations' unsupported claims.

Perhaps most of the basis for his worldview is tied up in Pentecostal/charismatic claims, rather than Scripture, and he need to ground himself in Scripture instead.

I know very little about Hillsong except for the child abuse scandal. I am not sure how much they focus upon supernatural claims versus soundly exegeted Scripture.
"I don't think Pentecostal/charismatic theology is sound"

Pretty much this. Continually seeking after signs (and not finding them) is a waste of a life.

You will not find a one of them entering MacArthurs territory. Likely to scare the daylights out of them.

Evidently he was involved in the Pentecostal Church. I would have "shaky faith" too.
What other churches can I publicly denounce? How about yours!
Hillsong ain't Pentecostal - Hillsong is Hillsong.
They copy the great U.S. money making everybody's saved let's feel good through music ministries.

13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.
14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few."

Whats worse,a man in a faith crisis or believers throwing him under the bus?

I am glad my theology is outside the concept that shipwrecked believers "never were saved"
Rediculous

I would agree the "never were saved" based on observable behaviour is a problem.

1 John 2:19 is in reference to anti-christs, people with false doctrines.

Perhaps the gentleman did have a false doctrine I do not know, but when it is a public personae there are lot of behind the scenes things that cannot be known from a distance.

How does someone get saved as a result of his music? Scripture teaches that the faith we need comes from hearing the word of God.

2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

This unfortunately is a perfect illustration of why the church is in such a mess today. Lack of sound doctrinal preaching of Gods word.

Let's see...

A worship leader sings about God. A non-Christian experiences the worship brought upon the crowd by the music. That non-Christian is wooed by the Holy Spirit's presence in the crowd's worship. As a result of that wooing, the non-Christian accepts Jesus.

Another reason the church is in such a mess these days. People with such short attention spans they can't follow the bouncing ball.

(And I bet I'm just old enough that few will understand that reference ;) )

Singing is great for believers to prepare their hearts to worship but it is by preaching the word of God that men are converted. Scripture tells us clearly that it is the foolishness of preaching.

1Co 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

1Co 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Men always think they know more than God.
