I'm not defending this OP, just clarifying a point that is kinda important.

Yes, Christ will never leave or forsake us, however, that does not mean we do not have the free will to turn our backs on Him. Not talking about a believer that stumbles...….because that believer can still rely on the blood of Christ to give him salvation. However, when that believer stumbles, he must repent and ask for forgiveness.

No person (after salvation comes to them) can then live their lives in disobedience to God/Christ and still expect to inherit eternal life.........that's just silly IMO.

Every believer has the duty to strive to live Christ like...….the Apostle Paul spoke of his struggles on more than one occasion. And, if he struggled, all of us can very well expect to. Christ made a simple yet bold statement when He said"

Matthew 24:13 King James Version (KJV)
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Jesus said that hearts would wax cold and there would be a falling away......

just saying

The problem is in the 'maintaining', where most, if not all, will fail at one time or another. Isn't the shed blood of Jesus dying on the cross sufficient for salvation? I believe that it is and I choose not to live in fear of failing to maintain and thus losing my salvation. Jesus said that He has not lost one that His father has given to Him. I will take Jesus at His word.
Why do you sometime place and maintain your Faith in Jesus and the Cross and other times you do not?

I guess that is because I am a human being with frailties. I would rather focus on Jesus than the means of His execution which was barbaric by nature.

You are WAY out of line, dude. I think it's time YOU spoke to YOUR pastor about the absence of spiritual fruit in YOUR life.

Years ago, I contritely confessed my sins to Jesus who died on the cross for me, and invited the Holy Spirit to come into my heart to comfort and guide me in the life-long repentance process. Jesus said that He has not loss one that His father has given into His care so my salvation is secure. What exactly am I lacking in regards to salvation? I place my faith in the Word of God and not what some pastor may have to say about salvation.

When people leave the Cross and turn to other things, which millions are now doing, the Scripture says of them: "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" (1 Timothy 4:1).

Needless to say, such individuals, as with the lukewarm and as with those who have a form of godliness, are labeled by the Lord as unsaved, despite their claims, and will not go in the rapture nor enter the strait gate and narrow way that leads unto life. Many people believe they are in Christ, but have a make believe salvation.

Many are proclaiming Christ, but forsaking the Cross (lukewarm). This is also called "spiritual adultery (Rom. 7:1-4)."

If you leave the Cross you enter death!

The modern Church no longer believes the answer is found in the Cross of Christ, and only in the Cross of Christ. In place of the Cross, it has substituted humanistic psychology. Never mind that such wisdom is “earthly, sensual, and devilish” (James 3:15). They have opted for that in place of the “wisdom that is from above,” which is “first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy” (James 3:17).

To forsake the Cross is to forsake Christ. They cannot be separated.

Most Christians are practicing Salvation by "Faith," and Sanctification by "self (lukewarm)?" The Righteousness of God is imputed to a person only on the basis of Faith in Christ, and what Christ has done at the Cross. Romans 4:5

The Believer must stay in His death, burial, and resurrection and are, therefore, victorious (It is Jesus Christ life that brings victory - not ours). That is the only way we are triumphant in Christ (II Cor. 2:14). And that is the only way He can work in us both to will (change our desires), and to do (give us the power of the Holy Spirit) (Phil. 2:13)

This is the only way we receive the life of Jesus Christ to manifest in our lives so that we receive all the benefits of this Resurrection life (Luke 9:23).

JESUS SAID, "YOU CAN DO NOTHING WITHOUT ME (John 15:5)! EVERYTHING THAT MAN DOES DIES. EVERYTHING THAT JESUS DOES IS BLESSED, AND LIVES, AND HAS LIFE (Psalm 1:3)!

If the Believer does not understand this, all scriptures become enticing words to the flesh, that will be attempted by the flesh to perform (Romans 8:2-3, 1 Cor. 2:4). The Believer now becomes a transgressor (Gal. 2:18). Under Grace, the Holy Spirit carries out the will of God in the Believer (Romans 8:2). Under the Law, the flesh (your own ability) carry's out the Law of God. Under Grace, the New Covenant, if Christ is a Law keeper, than I am a Law keeper because I am in Him (Romans 6:3-5, Gal. 2:20-21).

I already made it clear that I place my faith in the Word of God and not what a pastor may or may not say. You ask if I had a church home and yet you state in a negative way what a modern church believes and teaches. Go figure. Must have been a trick question of some sort.

If you maintain your faith sometimes, the scriptures are locked; you will not see, hear, or understand. Therefore you will be walking in the vanity of your mind (a pretend salvation). A anointed Pastor will teach you truth and Righteousness - Proverbs 8:7-8 (notice I said anointed Pastor).

Are you saying that faith should not be maintained? I believe that you mentioned in an earlier post that unless faith is maintained salvation is not secure or something in that regards. It is hard to follow your conflicting statements so I will simply disregard them. I do appreciate your concern, however, it may be your best interest to focus on your own salvation which seems to be working out in fear and trembling. As for my own salvation, I'm all set 'cause the bible tells me so. I want you to know though that I have said a prayer for you. The Holy Spirit also prays unceasingly to the Father for you as well. "Fear not", says the Lord. That's in the bible someplace.

Wow, I have read the entire exchange with Tourist, and you manage to contradict yourself and state that the man who has faith in our Lord Jesus is not saved.
This attack on him is very unChristian, and I'm not seeing any fruit of the spirit from you. (You know a tree by it's fruit).
He said he trusts in what Jesus did to be sufficient for salvation.

It will be impossible for a person who has not been granted Righteousness to see the "fruits of the spirit." Why? Because according to Ephesians 5:9, the "fruits of the spirit" are located in three areas; goodness, Righteousness, and truth.

Oh gosh, Dino you are so much fun to converse with! Can’t imagine putting you on ignore.

Your responses are eloquent, smart, very accurate and well established in scripture, not to mention you’re really good at grammatical corrections! Lol! :giggle:

I thoroughly enjoy reading all your posts! As others have said, “keep swinging!”(y)
