In the fall 2003 my dad's lung cancer had returned it had been almost 5 yrs to the date. He had a treatment scheduled the day after Christmas and needed a ride. I volunteered as usual. I decided I was going to hit up the dollar store near by and check out the craft isle. I got as far as the craft isle only to hear my first name being whispered thru the store's intercom, it's 9:05am the day after Christmas, just me and the cashier and I don't know her from Adam. Next I hear inside my head go back now, pay for what you have and don't drive fast? so I did. The don't drive fast thing, best I can figure I needed to be at the place at the precise time or things would have been much different. I made it back, walked into the doc's office and knew something was wrong, I entered my dad's room and he immediately he had a massive heart attack right before my eyes. Thank the Lord the hosp was across the street and we have some amazing firemen and doc's. His condition wasn't good but he was alive and on a breathing tube. I spent every day in his room waiting for the worst and praying for the best. The docs told us to make arrangements because it wouldn't be long, 14 days later I get a phone call at 5:30 am from the hosp asking to come down because my dad ripped out his breathing tube and being combative and he was, poor nurse. When the news got out that he was awake all his doc's came at once to see, nobody could believe it. I was so shocked how quickly they all started to pat themselves on the backs, I was just about to lose it and all of the sudden a man came from the corner of the room? put his hand on my shoulder, which I detest, but for some reason I knew to listen. He looked me straight in the eyes and said your father has 25% of his heart left he has about 4 months left to live take him home love him and enjoy him, so I did. The mysterious man [angel] was right 4 months later he went home to be with the Lord. My saving grace I got to know that my dad is the lambs book of life. Thank You God for I truly know.
