Missing a few around here, rod1965, mel, seoul, just to name a few.

I wish this forum was busier. I really do.

How are all my single brothers and sisters?

I am in a not too lonely season. How about you? Are you and yours doing ok?

Is there anything exciting going on with you? Anything we can shoot the breeze about, happy or sad?

Well, it's late...but I've recently been kind of sad about the fact that I don't have the same drive to get married that I used to. I can hardly conceptualize it. Not sure what that means, but it is odd. I'm kind of over looking at every potential person as a "potential" and it's a shift.

On another note...what is faith? I have read the verse about it, but I just am at a crossroads about it. I understand trust more than I understand faith...if they are the same thing...I have some trust issues.

Causes my thoughts/prayers to go into some strange places.

But I do agree...I don't feel too lonely. I am aware that I am but strangely I'm more or less ok with it at present. Interesting place to be.

Have been single for two years, always loved my own company. No friends, no family to speak of, all good. Last few months a spiritual journey has really begun, although close to the lord, past few months very close. I stick to my sewing and road trips to keep myself amused.

I think our faith builds our trust and our trust does the same with our faith. Like they are directly proportional. I do not know for sure, though. Hmmmm, great thought Mii, it has me pondering. I'm glad your prayer life is active.

Yeah, I am so glad that we are both ok with our status, maybe that is a gift from God.

Oh how delightful it is to read your relationship with Him has become even more intimate. I find seasons of solitude can do that. I am so grateful for One on one time with Him. I am thankful you interact here and go on road trips, though, because isolation can be hard sometimes.

You sew huh? Cool.

IMO:
Faith, Hope, Trust are intertwined...….

Proverbs 3:5 - Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Psalms 56:3-4 - What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
Psalms 13:5 - But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
Isaiah 26:3-4 - Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.
Psalms 37:5 - Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring [it] to pass.
Mark 11:22-24 - And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
1 Corinthians 2:5 - That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
2 Corinthians 5:7 - (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

Y'all can search for "hope" Scriptures. There is one particular passage of Scriptures found in the Gospel of Mark that (IMO) ties all three of these together:

Chapter 5:
25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

I believe she had to exhibit "hope" that what she would do would have an effect, she "trusted" in what she had heard of Christ, and her "faith" was strong enough for her to carry through.

I also believe that faith, hope and trust lead to belief. The greater our faith grows, the greater our hope grows, the stronger our trust grows, the deeper our belief in Him grows.

Sister Angela has translated "believeth" from John 3:16 from the original Text to show that "believeth" is not a one time thing, but a continual, unending thing. And, in my opinion, we are able to accomplish this through an increase of faith, an unquestioned faith, and strong trust in Him...…….

Romans 15:13 - Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Romans 5:2-5 - By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he [it is] that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Psalms 39:7 - And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope [is] in thee.
Romans 8:24 - For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
1 Corinthians 13:13 - And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.
Jeremiah 17:7 - Blessed [is] the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

We can surely have a crisis of faith, a weakening of hope, and a lessening of trust, BUT HE WILL NEVER leave or forsake us! EVER, EVER, EVER!

Hi Charlee Renee.
Is this forum not busy? I think its busy compared to some other ones.

Im fine...I found that God always sends me friends along the way and Ive never felt lonely cos Hes always there. One time He sent me a cat.

I think if you were previously coupled up or yoked and then broke it off its harder then if you were never yoked in The first place because you learned to rely and depend solely on the other person. This is how it seems to me and I encounter a LOT of divorcees. I was like God why is it that most of my older friends seem to be divorcees?! They all want to hang out with me but then some are just not happy or used to being single and tend to complain about their status. But right up to the time they got married they were single all along so did they just forget the first 18 or so years of their life when they werent married and were coping fine or did something happen at puberty that mde them desperately want to find someone else to be yoked with? I dont think so I think its more parental pressure.

I cant say thats the case with everyone but a lot of people i talked with were like my parents forced me to have a boyfriend or expected me to marry. Or my parents or other relatives kept asking me to have a girlfriend. Or they kept hinting they wanted grandchildren and asking when Or dont leave it too late. I kmow this one lady wanted her son Out of the house and even to move in with his girlfriend without even marrying her so she could have the house to herself. This was lady in church!

Lanolin..You say some really wise things. This forum does have busier moments for sure. It is a shame about so many divorced peeps. I am one of them. Too bad the lady was so anxious to get her son out that she was willing to have him live with his gf. Sad, he must have been a handful, lol..jk.

I think the faith/trust issue has to do with how we view God's power. I think the following gives us a perspective:

Matt. 8:6-10 "And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel."

Here we have a man, not a Jew , that looks at the God of the Jews as the one true God of everyone. He also understand that God is everywhere, has power everywhere and knows of all things going on (omniscient).

The centurion also viewed Jesus as from and part of that Godhead. He approached Jesus with a humble spirit as anyone would, had he approached God in glorious form. Just like the sinners will when Christ comes back:

Rev. 6:16 "And said to the mountains and rocks, fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:"

Now that is real faith. 5thumbsup.gif

As for the lady well last night she txted me asking prayer for her son hes in the caribbean facing the storm apparently.

So if youve got the time send a prayer up. I bet shes hoping that he was safe at home with her right now.
