Truth Is Relative, Say Americans

In two national surveys conducted by Barna Research, one among adults and one among teenagers, people were asked if they believe that there are moral absolutes that are unchanging or that moral truth is relative to the circumstances. By a 3-to-1 margin (64% vs. 22%) adults said truth is always relative to the person and their situation. The perspective was even more lopsided among teenagers, 83% of whom said moral truth depends on the circumstances, and only 6% of whom said moral truth is absolute.

"The data in this report are based on two nationwide telephone surveys conducted by the Barna Research Group from its telephone interviewing facility in Ventura, CA. The interviews among a national random sample of 1010 adults were conducted in late October and early November 2001."

So 1010 adults out of a U.S. population of 329,398,108 people, did a phone survey in 2001, and that means
"Truth Is Relative Say Americans"? WOW!

Hey Jackson123, what does truth mean to you?

To me it is absolute.

Jesus is God. It is absolute thruth.

It doesn't matter if most people in the world say no, He is still God.

It like gravitation law, if some people do not believe, let them try to drop themselves from the roof.

People that do not believe Jesus God let them face judgement on the judgement day.

I believe relative is the manifestation of human rebellion.

God set the rule, what is right, what is wrong.

Not every body happy with that rule. Every body want to have they own rule.

For example, sex before marriage. I watch an interview in Surabaya, Indonesia, among young

Say it is nothing wrong. For them that's not harming other, only shariah people against that.

In other word, people rebell against God standard but not aware.

They think as long as not harm other, than it is ok

As I stated before, when I talk about placing your Faith in Christ, 100% understand that. When I talk about placing your Faith in the Cross, i.e., the Blood of Jesus, 99% on this form don’t have the foggiest idea what you are talking about. They think you are talking about a wooden beam (not understanding that the Blood of Jesus is synonyms as the Cross)...it is the same with most who say they are Christians.

Meant to say the Cross and the Blood of Jesus is synonymous to each other.

"Truth is always relative"... if 64% of people agree with this statement, then 64% of people aren't exhibiting the intelligence to see the inherent oxymoron.

There is a song, "no matter what they tell you, what you believe is true."

Philosophies are relative yet various people adhere to varied philosophies............….
The origin of philosophy was seeking truth, and once the firsst philosophy had company of others, that origin was no more.

I believe your information deals with non-believers who believe more in facts relative to this age which is not truth. They believe in the thoughts of mentaught as absolutes rather than seeking the eternal truths which donot nor cannot change..

The only eternal truth is from our FAther, anything else is a very strong, and perhaps wicked, blinder.

All love in Jesus, Yeshua...j

Yep, philosophy looking for thruth but they not find it. Then they do not believe there is absolute thruth.

And if they say : "no absolute thruth" mean may be they statement (there is no absolute thruth) is wrong

And if it's mean there is absolute thruth

Jesus say I am the way the thruth and the life.

So there is absolute thruth, his name is Jesus

After 18 post everyone is saying no,,,,seems like if the pole was correct everyone would be explaining why they feel that way instead of arguing against it...
