Good works cover a multitude of sins. And they had faith. And loved God even when they weren't told they should. And God can do what ever He wants and He doesn't have to explain it to us.

But how do they know whos spirit it is? If not hearing the Word how do they come to faith?
If we follow the law of love it is simple, in every area of my life, am i focused on loving and serving others, or is my focus on my own desires and needs.

If it is on self, it is carnal, and not from god.

We follow this law by not allowing ourselves to go past the point of appreciating Gods handiwork, we don't let ourselves engage if the flesh starts leading the spirit, and our minds bring up the law that says don't, so we turn and walk away and don't engage on any level.
My mind does not even go to the law that says don't, it goes to the person and god, and says i need to love and serve them not satisfy my own needs and desires.

Even if i fall, my mind does not go to law, i knew it was a sin in the first place, my mind needs to go to God, confess that sin, and pray for strength.

The law can not help me, it already led me to christ

You could also try just logging off, making a new user name and coming straight back to this thread pretending as tho you are someone new, and start a whole new bitter fued within just a day or two with people you've purportedly never met before.
I think that happens more often than we know.

((joking, that would be dishonest))
It is odd that he and sg sound so much alike, even the same bitter attitude to anyone who disagrees with them.

Has anyone seen SG? Did he get banned? I know alot were banned these past few weeks.

I think doing something like that would be more your speed. You seem to be implying that I started a fued? Only thing I did was argue that the Law isn`t a bad thing and speak against hostility and disrespect towards it.
See

We are not hostile to it, we to think it is good, in fact, we think it is better than good, we think it is perfect holy and righteous,

But like so many, since you disagree with us and we disagree with you, you think we are hostile to it and you.

Both are wrong.

All you do is attack me bro

But ignore me,, thats fine

It will not stop me from trying to share my faith,

that is all they do. they do not want to discuss, they just want to say " keep the Law" and then attack ( not discuss) any who disagree.

They blame shift.

Like i told another user, its ok to disagree, just disagree, if my faith offends you so much you need to defend yourself or attack, then something is wrong with your faith, not my words (unless of course i am attacking using belittling remarks or judgements which have nothing to do with the discussion, or using strawman remarks.

I didn`t tell anybody to "keep the Law". I said we are supposed to study it and learn from it.

Yet you continue to say jesus and paul said to keep it. And preached it or whatever you say,

Make up your mind man, or are you here just to make a mockery of christianity? And do not even believe what you say?

No condemnation in Christ no. But on Earth yes. Any Court Judge would convict you easily enough if you were caught murdering or stealing. No one on earth trusts unfaithful people. No one likes anyone who lies about his neighbour or wants to live next door to them, let alone be mates with them. Who could trust such a person?

Better to not murder, not steal not lie etc. Then no condemnation in this world or the one to come.

So then what do we do, become like christ, who put the needs of everyone above his own 24/7 and in doing so never broke he law

Or try to follow the law, teach others to follow the law. Then become hypocrites when we can not even follow the law, or worse, a hypocritical pharisee who judges others, and deny breaking the law?

Me? I think i will continue to do it Christ's way, (love and serve others) and be humble enough openly to admit i fail, and will continue to fail while in this body, and refuse to hold people to a standard i myself will never attain, but be there with them to help and teach them hoping hey do not fail but knowing when they do, i fail also. We can help each other focus on christ and keep marching forward.

Eternally Grateful for the grace God has shown a wretched soul such as myself.

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,

what makes you say that?

how would you even be able to judge? you barely know anything about what i'm like; you are brand new user who has only been on the forum for 3 days. you have misunderstood most of what i've written to you - and most of what i've written to you has only been questions, not declarations - and whatever declarations, have been deduced through pure logic or were based in scripture which i either quoted directly or clearly alluded to.

am i to infer that you think all people who are logical, who search out the truth, and who study and speak about and cite the Bible, are prone to malicious & continual dishonesty?

or is it just me -- is it just that you've hated me in your heart and are only personally impugning my character?

the things you say invoke confusion, mate. care to explain?

wisdom :)
i don't steal or murder '
because it's against the law' -- but because it would be unwise.

there is this law: be "
wise, not unwise" and it's written here, not in Moses:

But everything exposed by the light becomes visible — and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said:
“Wake up, sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”
Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
(Ephesians 5:13-16)
even Proverbs not say, get wisdom because the command is 'thou shalt' - but get wisdom, because it is good. here in Ephesians, there are three reasons given for the instruction, "be not unwise, but wise" - (1) because light exposes and makes visible (2) because what is full of light becomes light (3) because the days are evil.
none of the reasons are "
because the law demands it"

so it is demonstrated, there is a reason to do what is right that is wholly separate from the law. therefore, those not under the law are not unconstrained from evil: it does not follow that we are "
lawless" or "seeking to excuse sin" when we confirm that through Christ we are not under the law. for those who would accuse us, their argument is void, and for us, we see how that to walk in the Spirit following Christ, who is for us wisdom from God, we are encouraged to all the righteous works that He prepared for us and intends for us. :)

you could say - 'all things are lawful for me, but not all things are wise'

i think that's awesome. it is freedom, and He makes for us a path in His perfect way!

it doesn't bother you to be confused or to sow confusion yourself, even a little bit?
I`m not confused at all nor do I sow confusion. My critics on this site are liberal waterdowned Christians who are unwilling to consider aspects of the gospel they are unfamiliar with. They reject without giving a Bereans consideration. Attack and insult because they feel threatened when their doctrines start breaking down.

In your case, you have a pretty good education and are smart with scriptures but for anyone who presents something that isn`t mainstream you feel free to insult and attack with sarcasm and irrelevant questions. I`ve studied some of your posts and I know you better then you think.

Real Biblical understanding comes one step at a time so I tend to post things piecemeal and rarely throw out my strongest evidence right away. Given enough time and God willing any of my positions make sense and have solid scripture backing. Ultimately if people reject scripture then there is nothing I can do.

My willingness to engage in meaningless and circular argument is limited so I will have to put some on ignore.

i do not ask irrelevant questions.

if you don't understand the relevance then you need to consider more deeply the question, and study the scripture.

it's foolish to just dismiss something because you don't comprehend it.

Lol, your funny man, you have yet to really engage anyone, and you mock and attack anyone who disagrees with you, then you blame us,

Who are you really?

Agreed. It becomes a natural part of who you are.

Now, to teach someone who has no concept, do you take them to the schoolmaster (the OT) to lead them to Christ?

If it does not fit with your own system, and you have no explanation, thats what you do, you attack it.

Have they found christ yet?

If so, you can take them to show them christ since christ is the fulfillment of the law, and by learning you can see christ even more, also, you can use the OT to see gods grace and all else.

If they have not found christ yet, do they know they are a sinner? then teach them christ

I have studied the law a few times, learn something new every time

But to think i would want to follow the law? That would be a futile endeavor.
