May we all continue to sing praises at the marvelous works of our Lord.

And Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate; he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty. He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever."
Luke 1:46‭-‬55 ESV

"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David, as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old, that we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us; to show the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant, the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him all our days. And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace."
Luke 1:68‭-‬79 ESV

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!"
Luke 2:14 ESV

"Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel."
Luke 2:29‭-‬32 ESV

"Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel." And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed."
Luke 2:29‭, ‬31‭-‬32‭, ‬34‭-‬35 ESV

Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.
Psalms 98:1 ESV

One brought up this question to me: Do we each "have" a specific "cross" to bear and we don't all bear the same one (mission/purpose)?
Well, this comes to mind. 1 Cor. 15:31 "I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily."

Permit me to ramble on for a bit. My health issues are at times, overwhelming. But the Spirit of the Lord is strongest while I am overcome by them.*I have a bad sphincter valve and I inhale a little of my food when I eat. It has gotten so bad, It seems the next bout of infection will end me. I get a little cut on my leg and a bacteria moves in that has survived two rounds of antibiotics. I am currently using drawing salve on it.

It seems everything is working against me and yet I feel more productive, in the Lord's work. So, are these little annoyances suffering? I find that I don't know and I don't care. Maybe God is preparing me for something. I fully believe all things work for my good (Romans 8:28). I am also persuaded that the suffering in this life is not to be compared to the glory awaiting us (Rom. 8:18). They then said they would pray for me. Thank you, Lord!

Then, on the same subject [bearing crosses]:

We all have our crosses to bear, and we readily do so. Why then does God keep giving us things in this life? I mean He sometimes spoils me rotten by giving me the desires of my heart. I was 16 years old and said I would like to have a home in a National forest just south of Yellville, Arkansas. After I left the mission field He gave me a 5 acre farmette there. Then He took it back. I just chuckled because it didn't really matter.

Recently I complained about my car I had bought as it needed a paint job and was starting to need other parts. It was really high mileage (210 Gs). Next thing I know I am driving a Cadillac SRX with lower mileage and good paint and upholstery. It is nice, but it kind of spoils me again. God knows I would give all my worldly possessions if He asked me and I have in the past. I find the things in this life are but distractions and I won't be distracted by any of them.

God still gives to us because He promises in His word:

Mark 10:28-30 "Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, but he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life."

So much work He has done in our individual lives, in every circumstance there lies the opportunity to see His work. I appreciate that in all things, in all ways, He continues to fill, all in all.

Thank you Deade, my brother, for you continue to seek Him, constantly looking for His work

Isn't that the calling of all His people. To walk out His work in our lives?

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.
Galatians 5:6 ESV

You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness,
2 Timothy 3:10 ESV

For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness.
Psalms 26:3 ESV

I smile thinking God spoils you but even more knowing that your greatest desire is Him, your Portion. I am sorry that you had to endure losing your farm, and that your health is not what it use to be. Did you tell us if you had the other eye worked on yet, btw?

These very words moved me...

But the Spirit of the Lord is strongest while I am overcome by them. His strength perfected in weakness comes to mind.

No, this is the first cataract adjustment. It had just been postponed for 8/9 months.

I am so grateful today,

I feel my heart has so much to express, with Him I am so blessed.

As I seek Him, I know He could remain elusive and unknown to my awareness, but no He invites me into His presence.

Just another day... no it offers so much more, everyday He waits for us to open the door.

Oh Lord, my precious wonderous Lord, how is it that a simple and ordinary women is so honored to have communion with someone so grand?
How is it that you would hold me with Your righteous hand.?

Glory Glory Halelujia... You are the Glory in my midst, and the power of your presence brings me to my knees. You are indeed the God who sees.

I am so grateful for You today...♡♡♡

A wonderful post. So often people disregard Mary the mother
of Jesus. I assume it is because Catholics give her reverence .
Really though she made a great act of faith in saying yes to
the angel. At a very young age, how many today would give
themselves completely to God. We don't need to give her
reverence but we should at least give her as much honor as
we do the apostles.

Thank you DR.

I agree with you, she was favored, the only one of God's creatures that was honored to give birth to our King, our Redeemer. I agree, of course, all praise and worship goes to the One she delivered and the One who gave Him to be delivered, but still she is one of my favorite bible characters. I never want to worship His creation more than Himself, the creator. I do admire her though, not to the point of exalting for only He belongs in that esteemed place. I can only imagine the pain she endured watching her precious son be crucified.
