Hello everyone,

This blog explains how I understand salvation in Jesus Christ and the works that follow which are displayed in the 3 baptisms of Water, Holy Spirit and Fire.

May the Spirit of Truth deliver us from all lies from the enemy that we have believed to be true in our hearts and show us the Truth. May we have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying.

The only work required for the lost to be saved is to BELIEVE on the One the Father has sent to save us, which is Jesus Christ. Because of His great love for us, we in turn, also love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

However, there are works that follow salvation BUT are NOT required for salvation they are just simply the result of salvation.

To me, these works fall under the 3 Baptisms - Water, Holy Spirit, and Fire.

After we receive Jesus Christ we are saved.

Next, we are water baptized to signify that we consider our "old man" to be buried with Christ and raised to be a "new creation" IN Christ. Now, the life we live is no longer us but, Christ in us. We deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Jesus.

Next, baptism of the Holy Spirit - the Gift of the Holy Spirit - the Sealing of us with the Holy Spirit. The Power of God in us working mightily to do those things that witness and testify of Jesus Christ as Lord, our Lord - the Savior of the world.

Note: The Gentile house of Cornelius actually got the Holy Spirit Baptism first then, they were water baptized. So, these two baptisms have no specific order.

Now, we grow with the Word and the Spirit. The Holy Spirit leads us and guides us into all truth. Reveals the meaning of the scriptures, shows us secret manna - hidden truths in the Word of God. Cultivates the Fruit of the Spirit in us, until we can finally produce fruit in season and out of season - basically, love at all times. Lavishes upon us Gifts of the Spirit to edify and build up each other in the Body of Christ.

Last, baptism with Fire. Our faith, what we believe and everything we do for Christ will be tested. This is the race of faith we must run and finish our course, like Paul did. We hold on to our Faith in Christ and share it with others.

You'll know when you're in the Fire because all hell will break loose on you for no apparent reason! Satan desires to sift us like wheat, but Jesus has prayed for us that our faith will not fail us, and after we have been tested we will strengthen our brethren - just like Peter did.

The race of faith is just simply NOT going back to Egypt, but pressing on through the desert wilderness that is designed to kill our "flesh" carnality. Finally, the Promised Land - Heaven. Just as God was with the Israelites in their wilderness journey, He is also with us in ours.

Have peace, the most important work that God wants from us is to BELIEVE in Him and LOVE Him - both to be done with all our hearts, minds, souls, and strength.

I know this is long, sorry. I hope it helped someone! :)

I see you believe that we are saved and become children of God upon belief. Have you ever considered the following scripture pertaining to the infilling of the Holy Spirit? It indicates that if someone does not have the Holy Spirit yet they do not belong to God:

"Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." Rom 8:7-11

Without the infilling of the Spirit one cannot be made alive.

Hello Wansvic,

This is my understanding of the Holy Spirit's work in every believer is 3 parts (sealing, baptism and filling):

The "Sealing"
Upon confessing faith in Yeshua/Jesus as Lord, Savior and King, He seals us with the Holy Spirit.

Notice in John 20:22, when Yeshua/Jesus appeared to his disciples after His resurrection, He breathes on them and tells them to receive the Holy Spirit. This is BEFORE Pentecost - the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

John 20:21-22 King James Version (KJV)
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

The "Baptism"

The empowering of the Holy Spirit indwelling us and giving us understanding of the scriptures and power to witness and preach Yeshua/Jesus to others - making Yeshua/Jesus known in the Earth. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are dispersed in us by the Holy Spirit according to the Father's Will. The fruit of the Holy Spirit is produced in our lives as we mature and walk according to the Spirit and not our flesh or carnal mind.

Acts 1:4-5 King James Version (KJV)
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

The "Filling"

This is the continuous stirring up and staying full of the Holy Spirit that is God's power in us. It's like a cell phone that has to be plugged in and charged daily. As long as it's charged it can operate.

We stir up the Holy Spirit in us by singing hymns and spiritual songs, reading the Bible and meditating on it, prayer and Bible studies, spending time with other believers.

At the time of "baptism" they were all completely "filled" - fully charged at 100%.

Acts 2:4 King James Version (KJV)
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

After the "baptism," we need to stir up the Gift of the Holy Spirit within us in order to be "filled" or continuously "filled."

2 Timothy 1:6 King James Version (KJV)
6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

Ephesians 5:18-21 King James Version (KJV)
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Staying "filled" empowers us to walk according to the Spirit so that we do not fulfill the lusts and desires of the flesh.

God bless you, Wansvic!

Be sealed, baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit according to the Father's Will, in the Name of Yeshua/Jesus, amen.(y)

We know that Romans 8:7-11 is referring to the infilling as witnesses on the Day of Pentecost. For it says: "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."

The Spirit could not come to dwell in anyone until after Jesus ascension:
"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you." John 16:7

I believe John 20:21-22 expresses that Jesus gave the disciples a portion of the Holy Ghost prior to the Day of Pentecost. If this was in fact when they received the indwelling of the Spirit Jesus would not have told them to remain in Jerusalem until they were endued with power. (Luke 24:49)

When Yeshua/Jesus breathed on his disciples as described in John 20:21-22, He sealed them with the Holy Spirit which helped them to understand the scriptures, because they believed. The indwelling occurs at Pentecost when they are baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit.

Today, every believer when they first receive Yeshua/Jesus as Savior, Lord and King are SEALED with the Holy Spirit but, every believer needs to press in and tarry for the BAPTISM with the Holy Spirit.

NOTE: It can happen simultaneously - sealed, baptized and filled all at one time such as with Cornelius - the Gentiles.

Power to witness and testify of Yeshua/Jesus comes from being BAPTIZED with the Holy Spirit - this is the indwelling. Being FILLED occurs initially when we are BAPTIZED with the Holy Spirit.

At that time, we are completely filled and charged 100%. However, over time we get weary and fatigued which means we're not operating at 100% - just like a cell phone, we have to get recharged.

It's important to learn to be filled continuously by alone time with God, singing spiritual songs and hymns, praise and worship music, reading our Bible, meditating on God's Word, being in fellowship with other believers, speaking in tongues in your quiet time is an excellent way of continuously being filled.

Yeshua/Jesus went to be alone with the Father many times, if He needed to get recharged then we certainly do.

So, there you go...... we are SEALED, BAPTIZED and FILLED with the Holy Spirit.

Just remember, after the initial sealing and baptizing, we need to be continuously filled.

God bless.

When Yeshua/Jesus breathed on his disciples as described in John 20:21-22, He sealed them with the Holy Spirit which helped them to understand the scriptures, because they believed. The indwelling occurs at Pentecost when they are baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit.
The scriptures actually depict that the sealing and indwelling of the Holy Spirit are one in the same:
Ephesians 1:13, speaks of the sealing of the Holy Spirit of promise that takes place in those who trust in Jesus after they hear the word of truth and believe it.

We see from scripture that the Holy Spirit of promise is the actual infilling/indwelling of the Holy Spirit, also referred to as the Holy Ghost, of God:
Jesus said the Holy Spirit is the gift given by God:
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Luke 11:13

Peter states that the infilling of the Holy Ghost that he and the disciples received was the promised gift:
Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. Acts 2:33

Peter instructs that through obedience to his instructions one will be given the promised gift:
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Acts 2:38-39

Peter expresses that the Gentiles have received the promised gift when the Holy Ghost was poured into them:
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 10:45

Peter tells the Jewish leaders that Gentiles have received the promised gift:
Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? Acts 11:17

Paul states that partakers of the Holy Ghost have received the heavenly gift. We know this is the actual infilling from the evidence found in the previously noted scriptures:
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy GhostHeb 6:4

Ephesians statement that after believing the word of truth, the gospel message, that the sealing of the Holy Spirit would occur is clearly reflected in Acts 2:38. Proof of this is seen in the documented occurrences having taken place by all nationalities of peoples as they obeyed the instructions given. (Acts 2:38-41, 8:12-18, 10:44-48, 19:1-6, 22:16)

Lastly, consider that Paul knew that the Holy Ghost was not automatically received upon ones belief as evidenced by his comment in Acts 19:2 "Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?" The Samaritans also heard the word of truth, and believed and got water baptized but did not receive the promised gift of the Holy Ghost until later when Peter and John assisted them in receiving it:

"But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. (Acts 8:12; 14-17)
