The politics for building third temple is gaining a lot of ground. It`s likely to be built within a few more years. You don`t follow Israel news I expect.
What makes you think that? Moshe Lion has consistently said his position on all the shabbat & temple questions is 'status quo' and to leave it in the hands of knesset.

You don`t know what you are talking about, it`s a Messianic Jewish web site.

Here`s a secular site. More fitting for you.

https://www.timesofisrael.com/zehuts-feiglin-says-he-wants-to-build-third-temple-right-away/
Uh huh. And how many seats does zehut party have in knesset?

Zero.

So when a leader in a radically far-right party with zero political influence says he wants to do something, it is not great indication it is about to happen.

I ask again then, what makes you think a temple is about to be built in Jerusalem within the next two or three years? Jerusalem's mayor for the next 4 years is totally hands off on religious issues. Knesset elections were just last week and this libertarian guy you are talking about, his party got 0 seats. So where are you getting the idea it's about to happen?

I`m pretty sure I said the idea is gaining popularity and that it would likely get built within a few years. As always, you play around with my words. Support for building it is at 30%, an all time high. The most likely scenario is that Israel will build it after it`s next war another likelyhood for the next few years.

Originally, I was just responding to the claim it never gets built. Common replacement theology belief.

Why is it that theologians say the USA isn't mentioned in bible prophecy when it is clear Revelation 12 is speaking about the United States of America? Many bible scholars believe that the woman in Rev 12 is Israel and the child is Jesus but there are two clues that indicate the woman is the good ole USA. The first is that this woman is "clothed in the sun" which is another way of saying that she is "clothed in the Son". The USA is the only major nation in the world that has it's origins in Judeo-Christian values and is clothed in the Son. The second clue is that it says "with the moon under her feet". There is only one nation that has a flag on the moon and that is the United States of America. There's much more that could be said but this is clearly speaking about the USA.
Please give us one good reason why America should be mentioned in the Bible.

This your source for that?

A survey of 500 people conducted by a pro-temple institute 6 years ago?

*shrug*

My mistake, I saw a reprint with todays date on it. Clearly, you are better with secular news sources then I am. I usually just stick with the scriptures.

1And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

if Israel takes full control of the temple mount, blows up the dome of the rock & builds a third temple i'm pretty sure it's going to show up on ynet's front page before i get that month's Jews for Jesus newsletter.

do you think Revelation 11:1-2 is John measuring a literal, physical third temple a few years from now?
why aren't any measurements recorded?
verse 19 is about God's temple in heaven. different?

Yes different. 11:2 identifies it as the temple in Jerusalem. The dome of the rock has been found to be in the outer court rather then the temple site itself. The outer court wasn`t measured because it won`t be built. Dome of the rock will stand side by side with the temple.

you misunderstand.

why did John not write any measurements down?
Revelation 21 is full of measurements of the Bride, the Wife of The Lamb.
John was given a measuring device and commanded to measure the temple, the altar, and its worshippers. no measurements recorded.
what's up with that?

The measurement in Revelation 11 is symbolic. It`s an allusion to the harsh judgement that will hit Israel at the end of this age. 2/3 of them will die before it`s over.

14 Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.

15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

The measurement in Revelation 11 is symbolic.
if the command to measure and the measuring instrument in this verse is symbolic then why do you think the temple in the same verse is literal?

It's called bad exegesis.

Because Daniel and Paul both said it gets rebuilt.

Please give us one good reason why America should be mentioned in the Bible.
I'm not really saying why the USA is mentioned I'm just stating that it is mentioned...but the USA is the only nation that is clothed in the Son for a time, times and half a time. At some point all the nations will be clothed in the Son which is why Revelation says that the "leaves" on the tree of life is for the healing of the nations. Once the nations are healed they will turn to the LORD and mourn and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and be clothed in the Son.
