I wondered what you guys think about extraterrestrials. If they were found to exist how would that change christian belief, or would it?
It could be that some UFOs really could be from elsewhere......thoughts?

OK, this might get me flamed but what about angels? They are not human. We do go to heaven, get wings, and become angels, no matter what hollywood says. Are they not extraterrestrials?

God's word states there is nothing in all creation that is hidden from Him and that all things are laid bare before Him. And that by Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. That being truth, then there could be no extraterrestrials that He did not create or know about.

I have always believed that these so-called extraterrestrials are none other than fallen angels. And the extraterrestrial hoax is going to be used in the future to for some great deception of mankind. After all, the scientific community and unbelievers are more apt to believe in aliens then they are fallen angels and that because they would have to acknowledge God's existence, since He's the One who created them. In addition, fallen angels are mathematically and scientifically far superior to anyone on the earth and are able to create these UFO's that travel at great speeds while making 90 degree turns, which would kill any human. Not only that, but they are also able to take on other forms, so why no little grey men with big eyes.

We are continually being bombarded with the teaching of evolution through various medias. Regarding this, the scientific community continues to do all that they can to disprove the existence of God by looking for life outside of the earth. Their hopes and desires are on this world and this life and not on the blessed hope, the appearing of our Lord to gather us.

Hello laughingheart!

Actually, we do go to heaven, which is what our blessed hope should be, the appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. His coming to gather us is according to His promise in John 14:1-3

"In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going away to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and welcome you into My presence, so that you also may be where I am."

So, according to the scripture above, Jesus went to the Father's house to prepare places for all believers. The Father's house would have to be referring to heaven. In support of this, we have other scriptures that state that Jesus ascended to the right hand of God the Father. The fulfillment of our being gathered is found in I Thess.4:13-17. So yes, we do go to heaven prior to the onset of God's wrath and will remain there, where at which time we will return with the Lord when He returns to the earth to end the age and establish His millennial kingdom.

Also, the scripture states that in the resurrection we will become like the angels in heaven and not that we become angels. Regarding this, John says "we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him." We will be resurrected and will have immortal and glorified bodies just like the Lord's. :)

Of course we go to heaven!!! That was never in question. I am sorry if I did not express myself properly. I mean that we don't go to heaven and get transformed into angels. They are separate from us. Again I apologize for how I expressed my thoughts. Heaven is my fondest dream and my hope.

What defines an angel? Don't angels have bodies? Why or how would the men of Sodom want to rape them if they didn't?

It wouldn't change my Christian belief one bit. In all likelihood there probably is life, similar to what we know, on other planets. They're probably just like us, sinful creatures in desperation need of salvation and repentance. In their eyes we would be considered to be alien extraterrestrials.

I preferred your original estimation. Seriously. :)
I like that we are separate from angels. I do not pretend to understand them and our relationship to them. I've read the scripture and it is a thing of wonder that will probably won't be truly revealed until I get home. I know people here might choose to quote scripture at me and I appreciate their help but I am saying that though I've read them, it is beyond me. I like that I will be changed into being fully the laughing heart I was meant to be. I want to be the very best redeemed parts of me fully realized. I most look forward to never again having to say, "I am sorry Lord." That will be amazing. How we interact with the angels when we there will be another mystery and adventure.

1 Corinthians 15:40 40There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another.

42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43) it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44) it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

So what do we care if God did make others somewhere else? What was that thing that Ezekiel saw?

Ezekiel 1:16 16This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like topaz, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel.
Ezekiel 10:9 9I looked, and I saw beside the cherubim four wheels, one beside each of the cherubim; the wheels sparkled like topaz.

Don't believe there is other physical life out there. And if there is I don't believe they are flying around out atmosphere in secret for decades. Kidnapping and probing people.
Aliens are pretty much part of conspiracy theories. No real evidence exists.

I don't care if there is and agree that it's mostly hoakum and nonsence but Ray Bradberry and Gene Roddenberry sure made money on the ideas.

I believe they're angels, possibly some fallen angels. Spiritual beings though.

The descriptions of them by pilots and such just do not align with physical beings. Flying UFOs don't just disappear... No matter how advanced their technology.

I think there could be other beings out in the universe possibly (away from our Galaxy.) There would be a spiritual reason for God to create them as well.

It wouldn't shake my faith seeing them here though. God enjoys creation so there's no reason for him to stop. Creation is all around us already. However life does NOT just happen. You can't get a seed from nothing or an embroyo from nothing. That's nonsense.

Creation is just one aspect to believing God from the physical perspective. But there's many others.
