Wow wow wow.

Where did I say you are teaching works salvation.

I was talking generally about those who do.

Back off or talk to me rather than redx me.
It’s a strawman because no one has been teaching works salvation

And you said “parsing”. Who’s the guy that’s been parsing? Just me.

You said You cannot parse works salvation. The only guy that has been parsing doesnt🙂

And I don’t care about red x’s. Give me as many as you want.

No one is parsing words here but Me. And you played the works salvation card.
I never said you.

I played the salvation works card a generalisation of those who do.
But I never ever mentioned you.

Why do you think that?

Sorry about the redx I gave you.
It was a negative response to your one you gave me.
I was confused as to why you gaveit.
Not mature on my part.

So please accept my apology.

You can't parse works salvation with them as they won't have time to do them.
I was referring to those in the hospice not you.

Yes. It was faith. But faith did not save Him in the sense of meriting salvation. We are saved by the merit of Christ, not by anything we do.

Do you believe in imputes righteousness

Will be away for a while. Will check back later
Paul had put a conclusion of these squabbles.
Romans 4:16 King James Version (KJV)
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

Ephesians 2:8 King James Version (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

It could not be by grace if it is not of faith and vice versa.

Written so eloquently.

Yes. The thing I was disputing was people saying faith alone saves. So you agree with me. 🙂

Faith does not merit salvation. The only merit that saves us is Christ’s. Christ’s righteousness is imputed when we believe and it is His righteousness that saves. Also we are regenerated when we believe. All works of God, ie Grace

Because who else is parsing words. But didn’t I already say I apologize if you misunderstood your post? So why are you going on about it.

My prove text is proof.

Time to say goodbye.
I have only ever to tried to talk and walk with you.

Oh well, sure I will see you in heaven one day.

I'm not even sure you have had the courtesy to read what I wrote.

That says it all.
If you don’t think repentance brings change to people’s minds about about sinful acts. I don’t know what to tell you.

My mind sure changed about drugs, Godhating, stealing, lying, blasphemy. Etc. when Gods grace touched me I didn’t want to do those things any more

Change of mind

You are teaching faith as a mere decision to believe, which by itself, without grace is powerless. I am teaching faith that results in a radical work of Grace. That’s the difference

To be honest, I did not intend to give you a red x. Honestly. Usually my phone only give thumbs up options on rep points. I will remove the x

I appreciate you being friendly with me. The disagreement I have with you is a friendly disagreement.

All I know is when God brought me to repentance, I didn’t want to do the things I used to do anymore. Was I tempted? Sure. Still am. Did I fall at times. Sure. Still do

But the difference was what I desired, what my mind was set on. It seems to me that is repentance.

And it would have never happened apart from the drawing of God. It was not a decision for me. It was an epiphany

Faith saves us. Belief saves us. God's grace saves us.

Works DO NOT save us. Mowing lawns, shoveling yards, delivering groceries to your homebound neighbor.. these things do not save us.

Correct.

Here’s my point.

Some people look at faith as a decision to believe. That is part of it, but what I see is a salvation that is more than a decision to believe. I believe that salvation is both an epiphany and a spiritual resurrection.

We are saved because the God we did not know manifested Himself to us. And then we believed. And then we were regenerated, justified, etc

The scripture says that God is found by those who were not looking for Him. Maybe not true for everyone, but definitely true of me

I would never had come to Christ except I was drawn. I was a God hater. And one night, my eyes were opened, instantly. And at that moment, and not a moment sooner, I believed

So the change and belief were pretty much at the same time and instantaneous.

Up to here is my personal story. I am not saying it happens like this for everyone. What I will say below I do think applies to all.

When one hears the Gospel, there is a work of drawing, and in some it produces belief and others it doesn’t. Why? I do knot know, but I know tis so

Hopefully this will be my last post.
