I wouldn't be so sure about that. Canada just re-elected the biggest sell-out in world politics whom let in tons of invaders to his country. Canada's reckless and suicidal policies are a massive liability to the United States of America.

As for the cost, when you compare the cost to say social security and medicare/aid it's not but paltry pennies. If you compare to spending the US does on "foreign aid" to a bunch of ingrates whom hate us, which was 49 billion dollars in 2016 according to the CFR, you would see a Wall on the US-Canadian Border is very affordable, and we would actually get a benefit in return.
Seriously,no one is going to build a wall that long. And Canada is an ally.

Only when it suits. While Canada should be strongest ally of the USA, it is not because of an unhealthy attitude among the politicians (and possibly many Eastern Canadians).[/QUOTE]

Meanwhile, Alberta is already organizing Wexit, for Alberta and other western provinces to leave Canada.
All Alberta needs is a man who is not a politician, but has the courage and conviction to show Albertans why they are better off outside Canada. Alberta and Saskatchewan could be very well off by themselves, but without real leadership nothing will happen. B.C. and Manitoba prefer to dither around and support Liberals.
Andrew Scheer's Conservatives won the popular vote by more than 200,000 votes, which didn't translate into seats, because the west had around 135,000 people per riding, whereas Quebec has 75,000 per riding, and PEI has 35,000 per seat!
Andrew Scheer had every reason and every opportunity (over four years) to thoroughly defeat the Trudeau Liberals. But he turned out to be another incompetent like Trudeau, and therefore failed Canadians. who needed to see a change in Ottawa, where a clown represents Canada again. Shame on Eastern Canada.

Well, they were an ally when I left, that was some time ago. And yes,my family was very upset that the east went Liberal. No one can seem to say why.

Its been noted quite often, and especially after this election....how divided Canada as a country is. We've got east versus west, urban versus rural, and with the resurgence of the Bloc Quebecois the Quebec/ROC dynamic as well.

One thing that's been on my mind of late....as I've posted here before, mine is a journey back to faith, and that journey began back around 2006 with my Mother's passing. I've spent most of my life either living in or near a big city....in or near Toronto, NYC, Portland OR, Quebec City.

Now I'm living in a very rural part of Ontario, and its since moving to the country that my faith journey has taken greater strides. I don't think that's an accident. I think there's something about living around farms and a rural backdrop, it brings one closer to God when compared to living in or near a big city. With cities you're constantly confronted with man made creations...huge buildings, stadiums, nature is largely choking underneath asphalt and concrete. But in the country you get to see the beauty of God's creation every day....the sunsets and sunrises here are spectacular.

Those on the left, especially at the extremes....God isn't even a consideration a lot of the time. And its in the populated areas where the left end of the political spectrum rules. I know I'm rambling here but it seems to me that those of us living in so called 'God's country', that we can hear His voice more clearly.

The reason they went Liberal again is because Eastern Canada was not shaken up to some serious realities. Had they understood that they would lose Alberta and Saskatchewan altogether (through Western Separation), and all the cash that they receive from the West, they would have sat up and taken notice. Not to mention all the illegal actions of Trudeau, for which he should have been prosecuted and removed from office.
