Same with "going green".

"Toms" shoes was one of my main examples when it was a hot topic for me.

Ty for the link...
You're welcome. :D

It's true, there are green or renewable energy, tax credits out there. For individuals, not just Corporations.
The other thing is, Corporations don't pay taxes.
If they don't pay taxes why should the struggling working class?

As I typed that I had to chuckle when I remembered years ago the highest court ruled, Corporations are people.
Well, since people pay taxes.... ;)

Read it yourself:
Another Chick-fil-A executive told Bisnow that the company had spent too many years “taking it on the chin” and ignoring protests and boycotts — but the escalating backlash was finally too much to ignore.

They calculated that losing the few Christians that would stick to their guns and not eat there, was worth less boycotts and and increased worldy patrons that would eat there.

We are talking about the Salvation Army here. NOT Westboro Baptists! An Org that has done immense good for 150 yrs.

Sally Anne pointed out they are the ones that feed and care for the majority of LGBQ......... homeless people. They made a bad choice.

They’ve had the unwavering support of Christians nationwide, to not only stab them in the back, but slice their throats.:((n)

GLAADs response to the situation...

“If Chick-Fil-A is serious about their pledge to stop holding hands with divisive anti-LGBTQ activists, then further transparency is needed regarding their deep ties to organizations like Focus on the Family, which exist purely to harm LGBTQ people and families,” a statement from the organization reads.

“In addition to refraining from financially supporting anti-LGBTQ organizations, Chick-Fil-A still lacks policies to ensure safe workplaces for LGBTQ employees and should unequivocally speak out against the anti-LGBTQ reputation that their brand represents,” GLAAD concludes.

What now CFA? Looks like it's your move. Painted yourself into a corner it seems.

I really thought that would be an interesting read. We seem to be fine with CFA dealing with it all the time.... going on 8 years, now.

Not when they are bashing Christians that disagree with their lifestyle. No,I don't agree they need to be heard from. I know their POV already. They want to live the life they want to live. Which is fine, but I and others have the right not to support that lifestyle and buy somewhere else. I didn't appreciate the article at all and don't see why you shared it. Perhaps others will see different. JMO

what I was pointing out, was the irony that the gay man was just as self righteous about his lifestyle as the goings on in the restaurant

I'm not into supporting or not supporting the cause of the week for the most part cause I just don't like jumping on bandwagons period

also, not being from the South, I don't get the ultra religious zeal that seems apparent in some cases nor the ability to praise one day and hang the next

true story here

I knew someone who had attended a wedding and they had been divorced from their 1st husband

well, happened they had remarried the brother of the husband of a woman who was so holy her feet didn't touch the ground

at the reception, this same woman stuck out her hand to the first lady, introduced herself and the lady introduced herself back

without a single word or even a change in expression, the holy woman dropped the hand that had been offered for a handshake and floated away, leaving the other lady standing there

now the reasons for the divorce were multiple, but the fact her husband was an unrepentant adulterer, was good enough for Jesus but not this holy woman

I’m a bit sad at the outset, but I wonder are they stopping all the donations to fundamental Christian groups? Or is it just those in particular?

If all, I am very sad and sorry. I know that God will not look favorably on this if so.

On twitter, someone made a valid point. What CFA did, alone, will not appease the LGBTQ community. They will also have to renounce their anti-same sex marriage stance and become pro-death(they call it pro-choice, but its really pro-death :( ) for them to fully appeased.

Now that GLAAD is coming after them, CFA has really opened the proverbial can of worms. Satan wants to attack the family as it is clearly taught in the scriptures. The biblical marriage is one husband and one wife. They want to say that the Christ never spoke against marriage, and that's not even remotely true.

1 Getting up, He went from there to the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan; crowds gathered around Him again, and, according to His custom, He once more began to teach them. 2 Some Pharisees came up to Jesus, testing Him, and began to question Him whether it was lawful for a man to divorce a wife. 3 And He answered and said to them, “What did Moses command you?" 4 They said, “Moses permitted a man TO WRITE A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE AND SEND her AWAY." 5 But Jesus said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment. 6 But from the beginning of creation, God MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE. 7 FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, 8 AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH; so they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”[Mark 10]

So, it is only one male and one female, in holy matrimony, that become one flesh in the sight of God. Not two males or two females, but one male and one female. Focus on the Family holds to that biblical view of marriage and GLAAD is miffed at them for it.

Very saddened to hear this news also. While I believe a private organization has every right to do as they want with their money, it seems like this type of compromise is happening more and more with Christian organizations. I sent them a letter today. I asked them to stand strong in the face of opposition, like they have on several occasions before. We need more organizations that are not afraid to take a stand for the Gospel! We all need to remember that our actions are never "neutral" in God's eyes. Our words and actions are either for His glory or not. Yes, we do make mistakes, but our actions have consequences. Praying this will not too much adversely affect the Christian witness they have had for so many years, but unfortunately, I have a feeling it will.

I meant to type "They want to say that the Christ never spoke against homosexuality*, and that's not even remotely true."

*I typed marriage and it should have homosexuality. Sorry about my faux pas.
