This year has been kinda tough getting appreciated gifts for my wife. Last year for Christmas I bought her a brand new lawn mower. I thought she would appreciate that I waited until the end of the season to save some money too. The new one even has an electric starter so she wouldn't hurt her shoulder again with the rope pull type. Shoot I even bought a new 5 gallon gas can to go with it so she wouldn't have to make so many trips to the gas station. I thought I was doing good but I guess not.

For her birthday I bought her a brand new vacuum cleaner. I mean it's not like I don't help with the housework - I raise my feet so she can clean there and even point out spots she misses. Again I thought I was doing good but she didn't seem to like it to much.

Last straw for me was our anniversary. I tried to make up and actually asked what she wanted. She said all she wanted was a new dishwasher to match the other kitchen appliances which are white. I spared no expense and bought the prettiest white dress I could find. It matched the stove and frig perfectly. She has hardly spoken since.

So folks I would appreciate your suggestions for what to get her for Christmas this year.

This is too funny, I realized it has to be a joke....

If not, buy her a dog house so she can put you in it at night!!!

I clicked the title thinking this might be an interesting conversation (AAAAAAANNNNNNDDDDD it is...….. )
I mean, thinking it may be asking (SERIOUSLY) for help on this or telling the story of what one MAY be doing...…..
oh well......
gotta good laugh, and I needed that.

NOW....
What are you REALLY getting your wife?

what does she like? Has she mentioned anything as being "nice" "nice to get" "wouldn't that be neat" etc...….
What are HER interest (lawn mowers do NOT count for a wife  )
And congrats on 49 years!!!!!
You must be doing something right...…..

She likes most of my wood craft stuff. Just finished a trinket box made from camphor a crotch section - beautiful grain. For some reason she likes the aroma of that wood. Kinda smells like Vicks vapo rub. Made her happy though

Yep - it is a joke :)
Don't laugh.

My first Christmas present to my then girlfriend now wife, was a premium set of Jumper Cables. And I actually thought at the time it was a pretty good gift!

She still uses them. Only on ME when I do stupid things!

A gift made is better than a gift paid
okay, so as Mama to youngings I often quickly reference children's stuff.... first thing that pops into my head while reading these post is from Daniel Tigers Neighborhood (that's the character from Mr. Rodgers neighborhood that now has his own childrens cartoon on PBS)
They had an episode about how to show/ say you love someone......
and making something is one way to say "I love you"
