My life changed, too, the day I asked God to forgive me. It was clear to me that I was a new creation. Time had started all over for me. It was a brand new day from which I would reckon time. But I had little power. I didn't get that until after water baptism.
So you give credit to your work

that is a scary thought. And helps feed the religious who think salvation is through water baptism.

to say the work of man gave you more power than the work of god should lead you to pause and think what your saying

when someone gives you a thumbs down for praising the work of God on the moment of adopting you into his family, and filling you with his spirit, you know something is seriously wrong
You seem to misunderstand the thumbs down. You said “That’s sad” to the humble brother’s testimony, the very thing you are accusing of.

:D This is funny.

I was not saved at my water baptism. I received POWER at my water baptism.

Why is it that any and all obedience is instantly understood as works salvation by church people?

It is Satanic. Guess Abraham should have sat back and not offered Isaac for fear of works. And when the Holy Spirit said “Separate Me Paul and Barnabbas for the work whereunto I have called them” they should have disobeyed for fear of works. What did James say about that? I guess the fine linen the Bride will be clothed with, her righteous acts.... guess she should have sat back. And what was Philip thinking attaching himself to the eunuch’s chariot? Such works! Why preach Jesus to him. Why be led by the Spirit of God being in His Kingdom. How dare he do the will of God. How dare Jesus teach us all about what we do!

Lol

you recieved power the moment you were saved when you were baptized by God ( if you were baptized by god)

not when you were water baptized in water by another sinner. that’s religion and a misinterpretation of gods word

You have no idea what I meant, you would be better served to ask instead of make blind assumptions
I have no fear of works

what I have a problem with is people saying Their work gave them powers taking credit from god.

I received boldness in the power of the Spirit after my water baptism, two months after being born again. I'm sorry if that doesn't fit into your presuppositions, but, hey, what happened is what happened. Your theology doesn't change that.

The church reminds me of when Gilligan was flying and Skipper told him to get down from there because he can't fly. And Gilligan said, "I can't?" and immediately fell to the ground.
The church is great and keeping people from what the church has deemed as impossible (not scriptural, passed away, etc.) because of some doctrine the church created that says it's impossible.

Wait for it....
Wait and see how the analogy gets twisted until it means what the naysayers say is right. :giggle:

You limit the power of god to some work of man
that’s bad doctrine no matter what you say

when people hold one of gods commands above others and claim special Power comes from that one command. They turn gods sanctifying work in our life through all works into religion and that’s bad

Your religion is not new. It’s old. Been there done that And seen how it keeps people from experiencing gods true power
instead of puffing up your work start puffing up gods work

I was just in Rev. 3 and see how they are just as is recorded in v.17: "You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor blind and naked." That was what I said growing up too. And what does Jesus say to the churches: I know your deeds. Through these demonic doctrines and human tradition so much of God's Word no longer applies to the "believer".

The "real" Jesus is "the source of eternal salvation to all who obey Him", but the multitude of such Scriptures as that that no longer apply to them under doctrines of demons is endless - talk about taking away from the Word of God. I wish I could be lazy as the Laodiceans! No, I have to abide in Jesus' love. I address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each ones work so I have to conduct myself in fear during my sojourning here on Earth knowing the massive price paid for me. Not so with these modern "believers". We have to tremble at His Word as they get to dismiss it. We have to obey His voice, and He will be our God and we will be His people and as sheep of Jesus Christ walk only in the Way He commands us so that it goes well with us. They have no such concerns. All such Scripture us not useful for training in righteousness so that they may be perfect, thoroughly furnished for every good work. Work?! I know your deeds, Jesus said to the churches. I'll show you my faith by what I do. Real faith produces works and the Shepherd leads us where to go - we must obey His voice. 300 times the NT calls Him Lord, 25 or so times Savior. Everyone wants Savior! I don't want to lean on my own understanding. I was a terrible "lord". Thank you Lord Jesus for Your leadership!

Why don't you just stop pointing fingers at others, and focus on your own spiritual welfare? God will deal with everyone else.

BTW you might also want to learn how to use paragraphs for posting.

11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body [h]of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, 12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the [i]handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

here we have words of paul which are sadly misinterpreted by so many, and twisted to make it appear paul is promoting something he never even hinted at saying, a passage which speaks of the literal or spiritual fulfilment of two symbolic traditions of Gods people (circumcision and water baptism) and how these spiritual realities empower gods children by nailing the penalty of the law on the cross

lets take a close look at these words..

11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands,

this is speaking of the time when we were circumcised with the circumcision perform by the hands of god. The spiritual circumcision where our souls were made clean.

by putting off the body [h]of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,

here paul shows us it was the physical circucmcision of Christ on the cross, which when applied to,us, puts or cuts off our body of sins of the flesh.

he then goes to show how this spiritual circumcision done without hands take place.

12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

Paul now speaks of another tradition or work, which is symbolically fulfilled, the spiritual baptism performed by god himself, the same baptism prophesied by John the baptist (you will be baptized) also known as the baptism of the Hs, the act of god baptising us into Christ, where our sins are washed or cut (circumcised) away.

the result of this spiritual baptism/circumcision?

13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the [i]handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

the end result, the salvation of our souls

it saddens me to no end that people will take this triumphant work of god in our salvation. The moment we call out to god, and twist it to mean some physical act of water baptism

1. it takes the work of god in spiritual baptism and makes it a work of man
2. it takes the work of god in spiritual circumcision as in reality the work of some human who baptizes us in water

3. It takes the spiritual act of god saving us from Our sins and turns it into a works based gospel of man washing our sins by dunking us in water.

it may sound good, but in reality it takes the work of god and credit due him and gives it to the man who baptized us and takes credit away from god.

There was nothing wrong with it....people who add works to salvation tend to be indifferent to the completed work of Christ Jesus.

God adds them. Check out his Word and find out what faith that is not dead looks like and become a house built on the rock. Stop doing things on your own initiative and walk as Jesus did. Don't be a branch that gets cut off. Religion is a bad trip. Don't be a willing party to His vomiting you out of His mouth because of your complacency and lack of the Fear of the Lord.

Some people do not like their work is as filthy rags and meaningless when it comes to eternal salvation
