Maybe one day you will experience the removal of the sinful nature, knowing the Scriptures and the power of God. Maybe you’ll even speak in tongues some day!

I experienced that 40 years ago, when I became like the tax collector and dropped to my knees, and god baptized me into his family

maybe one day you will see that, scripture still seems to be foreign to you, I mean you think circumcision done by the hand of God occures when some man baptizes you with his hands,

I guess he is god?

i will pray for you

Why do you speak about speaking in tongues, knowing the Scriptures and in your profile it says:

Male, married, favorite verse Jeremiah but in spiritual status it says "not Christian"? Why? All those attributes you talk about sound Christian to me? Did you click it by mistake?

Thank you for sharing. Don’t let the hard, contemporary Pharisees frighten you off. May you come to know Jesus Christ as Savior from sin and not in it. May you come to know Him as Lord through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. The Christian church has so much division because it has not crucified the sinful nature and because it has a million heads, whereas the Church of Jesus Christ has but 1 and therefore moves as 1, with singleness of heart and action. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything. Jesus Christ is both Savior and Lord and ALL Scripture is God breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished for every good work. Meditate on it night and day. Amen!
Amen, and thank you.

Have been away from this site for quite some time; was not only away, but astray. During that time, did not attend church but once. Not a good thing, either; His Word says not to forget the gathering together....
With that said, it is disheartening to know that while professing to be Christians, and brothers and sisters in Christ, even the Church seems to have differences within itself. Makes it even harder to get myself to church/a church, as am not sure what to expect; i.e., is this the church for me? Are the members here for real? Can I truly expect to be fed the Word here? Will fellowship follow church time, or only when the doors are open? etc., etc.
Thank you for your time.
Find a church that not only teaches the word but lives it, where the love of Christ is found in the people, where service is stressed, not religious works,

while they are getting harder to find they are out there, one rescued me

No one is saved by taking that label which has suffered such violence over the centuries. I prefer the descriptions for born again followers of Jesus which occur more often in the Bible: disciples, believers or people belonging to The Way.

I am innocent regarding you. Amen. Such love.
You'll soon realize, if ya haven't already, when dealing with "some" people such as have "come to call" in regards this thread here? Many of whom I consider to be of an "Ostrich mindset?"

(messages from "the beast/sons of darkness!")

"Yer "free" to speak yer mind my friend."

"AS LONG AS YOU AGREE WITH ME!"

"Don't CRITICIZE the fatherland!"

"Or THOSE who "shape" your destiny!"

"Cuz if you DO?"

"You'll LOSE yer job, yer mind, and all the friends you knew."

"We'll SEND a call out, for our boys in blue."

"We'll FIND a way, to SILENCE YOU!" (up to and including a 1-way ticket outta town on their "ban-wagon!)

Men? (if one should, or even could consider ones like these: "born of water")

One's who walk and talk amongst us proudly displaying THIS as "their CREDO!"

Their "badge of honor!"

Isaiah 28
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

These are "men(?)" who "have fallen" to the advice of Job's wife!

I get you, the name Christian has suffered from inflation throughout the centuries. I just use it because of how short it is, believers could be believers in anything, disciples likewise can be disciples of anyone, the Way could be any Way, but when you say Christian people know which Lord we are talking about ;)

Thanks for sharing bro God bless you.

Amen, it is sad that the name of our savior has been tainted so bad by false believers and people who use his name to excuse their sin and false ideologies. That even it almost becomes a bad word.

He first showed me Isaiah 28 in connection with such folks 19 years ago. God's Word is up to date.
here, being the humble child of God that I am I will give you another try.

Col 2: 11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body [h]of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, 12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the [i]handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

here we have words of paul which are sadly misinterpreted by so many, and twisted to make it appear paul is promoting something he never even hinted at saying, a passage which speaks of the literal or spiritual fulfilment of two symbolic traditions of Gods people (circumcision and water baptism) and how these spiritual realities empower gods children by nailing the penalty of the law on the cross

lets take a close look at these words..

11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands,

this is speaking of the time when we were circumcised with the circumcision perform by the hands of god. The spiritual circumcision where our souls were made clean.

by putting off the body [h]of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,

here paul shows us it was the physical circucmcision of Christ on the cross, which when applied to,us, puts or cuts off our body of sins of the flesh.

he then goes to show how this spiritual circumcision done without hands take place.

12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

Paul now speaks of another tradition or work, which is symbolically fulfilled, the spiritual baptism performed by god himself, the same baptism prophesied by John the baptist (you will be baptized) also known as the baptism of the Hs, the act of god baptising us into Christ, where our sins are washed or cut (circumcised) away.

the result of this spiritual baptism/circumcision?

13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the [i]handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

the end result, the salvation of our souls

it saddens me to no end that people will take this triumphant work of god in our salvation. The moment we call out to god, and twist it to mean some physical act of water baptism

1. it takes the work of god in spiritual baptism and makes it a work of man
2. it takes the work of god in spiritual circumcision as in reality the work of some human who baptizes us in water

3. It takes the spiritual act of god saving us from Our sins and turns it into a works based gospel of man washing our sins by dunking us in water.

it may sound good, but in reality it takes the work of god and credit due him and gives it to the man who baptized us and takes credit away from god.

Since you used this passage in your OP., And have tried to tell me to study Gods word. Can you help me?

1. Where am I wrong in what I said
2. Where is physical water baptism whch is performed by the hands of men in this passage?

it should be easy for you to answer.

I will kindly wait.

Colossians 2
2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

If ya think of the "plan of salvation" like a baseball game? And God as the opposing pitcher?

Believing and accepting Christ? Is your INTENTIONAL walk.

Some people have been "picked off" trying to steal 2nd, so many times?

They have "conditioned" themselves into believing, and worse, teaching others that the game can be won by never "scoring a run!":cry:

Colossians 2:12 is "having been buried with Him in THE baptism..." (His DEATH [on the Cross]).

Romans 6:6 -

"We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin" or as another version puts it, "knowing [present participle] this, that our old man was crucified with Him [/was crucified-together-with Him - G4957], so that the body of sin might be annulled, that we are no longer enslaved to sin."

[G4957 like in Gal2:20 also]
