I could smell the dew embracing the green valley as I looked upon it from my window. It was early morning and had to get ready for the journey that I was about to embark.

:giggle: Someone else please continue, lol not sure of the story line so can go anywhere haha.

This journey was an exciting thought as I pondered the ways in which the Lord remained faithful in times past. Who could forget the time I encountered a lion and in the name of our Lord commanded it to be still and the beast, ferocious as it was, surrendered? Hah! Good times.

This next journey, what excitement laid before me? This I knew, the Lord would remain faithful.

I looked to the corner of my sparsely furnished room and moved to retrieve my weathered satchel. My mind was already making an inventory of the supplies I would need to take with me to the next town. I slung it over my shoulder while reaching out towards the wardrobe to get my cloak. Suddenly I went ice cold. A shadow of an opening door was cast across the stone floor. I tensed as I spun around to see a flash of light on metal.

“Kill him! He preaches another god other than Gravin.”, said an aged man, with a white robe lined in gold. Then no sooner than when I turned around a blade came crashing down towards me. I evaded, dodged right, and grabbed the guardsmen’s wrist and threw him over me into the remaining embers of what was a charming fireplace.

Instantly I drew my blade, and readied myself to counter the remaining guardsmen. The man in white came with three. One down, two to go.

But he retorted and said, “Hold your horses!”
This someone was my long time friend Azrael, as he slowly approached on horse back. He then hopped off the black stallion, and stood waiting for a response just outside the door.

The man in white responded, “Gravin is the god of the grave. Once dead, no one can overcome his power.” He then snarled, “This man was heard preaching of a resurrection! This opposes Gravin and he shall be put to death.” Azrael, my trusted friend, seemed to be listening to someone else as this priest in white spoke.

Azrael then spoke, “Give them your life.” So there I stood as my trusted friend told me to lay down my life. I tossed my sword to the ground and with a wicked grin the guardsmen approached me. I then heard a voice, “Do not fear, for Azrael shall tell you to rise and their god shall fall.” Immediately a steel blade pierced me, and I crumbled to the floor. Blood dripped from his blade and in the blades reflection I saw Azrael enter. I then blacked out.

The priest and his guardsmen are evil, serving a false god. Our hero is a believer, who preaches the resurrected Christ. Azrael is our hero’s friend, who has come to aid his friend. He heard the Holy Spirit speak to him of a plan to dethrone this false god and have the real God save these people from death. Our hero will rise at the command of Azrael in the name of Jesus and this will show that Gravin is false by going from death to life.

This was getting interesting! But I'm lost now - where did it leave off? Someone smarter than I needs to pick the thread up again for us dumb folks.

My senses eventually returned, my body cold and aching on rough stone floor, a sharp pain searing my side. My hands and feet were bound, and I could sense dampness in the room in which I was confined.

"Azrael?" I whispered. Afterall, it was his advice that had resulted in my unfortunate predicament.

"Azrael?" I repeated. My long-time friend has surely not betrayed me to the Philistines, I wondered.

How could he betray me? Was he not sent by God?

At that moment, a wooden door at the top of a stone stairway opened, and the light of day flooded into what I could now see was a cellar. The silhouette of a figure entering the cellar contrasted against the welcome new light, before the door closed and the darkness returned.

"Samson", a familiar voice spoke quietly, "it is I, Azrael. Are you awake?"
