Paul tells us we should tell God no, we won’t be physically circumcised nor will we restrict our diet. We tell God we will be circumcised in spirit and truth and we will watch our spiritual food. Most gentiles also tell God no, we will not celebrate any feast God tells us to celebrate and no, we won’t honor the last day of the week like Jews do, not even spiritually. We decided on the first day of the week because of Christ. Is this what Christ wants us to do? Is Christ really one with the Father so what the Father tells us, so does the Son?

Where does Paul tell us these things? They aren't in my Bible.

We tell God we will be circumcised in spirit and truth and we will watch our spiritual food.
Paul tells us we are circumcised in the heart, and Jesus told the Samaritan woman that true worshipers would worship in spirit and in truth.

Most gentiles also tell God no, we will not celebrate any feast God tells us to celebrate
Where does God tell gentiles to celebrate certain feasts? That isn't in my Bible either.

and no, we won’t honor the last day of the week like Jews do, not even spiritually. We decided on the first day of the week because of Christ.
Does your bible forbid you from worshiping on the first day of the week? If it does, throw it out. The real Bible says no such thing.

Of course we all tel God no, "Son go work in my vineyard: he said no and repented and went." This is the best we can hope for
But you got some funy legalitic isues impairing you, but they are only impairing if you think you can impose the law on people who have died. "If a man estems a day above another he should be fully convinced, and if a man estems every day alike he should be fully convinced also." But we are mostly all slow learners having wandered 40 years in the wilderness myself, for the generation after the flesh to die.

"Its apointed for a man once to die and then comes the judgment." When you are identified with Christ in His deat. there are nolonger days of the week. All you have is today, "Now is the accepted time of salvation, today the day of Grace." Grace is the influence of God to do what we could not. To walk im the Love of Christ, as dead men it the flesh alive with Him in the reconciliation of the cross. Dying daily with Him in a Journey alone with Him.
And if you take your life back, well misery loves company.

Is it your position that God speaks to Jews and gentiles in a different way? What about the many scriptures speaking to the Hebrews telling them He speak to them and the "strangers among you"?

Of course scripture does not tell us of any time not to worship, in fact it says that we are not to judge others based on the days they worship. It tells us when to worship only.

Based on the thread title, I was actually going to mention what happened to Jonah when he (initially) refused to do what God told him to do, which was to go to Nineveh to preach repentance. I assumed it would be about obeying or disobeying a specific directive or command from God to a specific person, but it's really about whether Gentiles should obey certain aspects of the Mosaic Law or not..............

UI thought legalism was obeying physically without spiritual involvement, do you have another meaning of it?

God gave the Law to Israel, not to the gentiles. All Scripture is for us, but it was not written to us. That difference is critical in understanding how it applies (or doesn't apply) to us today.

Take.the time to read this to understand that the old covenant was nulified in the deat of Jesus and so was our identity after the flesh. Appart from Him we are an ilusion of what God creates us to be. "Witjout Love I am nothing."

The day of vengeance of our God:
"Listen! In the Day of the Lord! The cry of the mighty will be bitter."
When Jesus said on the cross "It is finished," "God speaks of a New Covenant in His blood, means He made the old obsolete." "He came to deliver those who through fear of death were held their whole lifetime in bondage." Living in fear we are insecure and desire control, the enemy is given room to cause divisions. "From where come wars among you? Are they not from the lusts of the flesh." But tose who desired control nullified their covenant with God. The old covenant could only be nullified by the death of the one who established it. "Had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory." The law exposed our selfish motives to bring us to Christ so that no man would glory in himself. "Had there been a law that could save us, salvation would have been by the law." Now we are united with Him in the fellowship of His suffering with His Grace to forgive and be forgiven. "The Love of Christ compels us, believing that Christ died for all, our old life is nullified so that we no longer live for ourselves but in Him who died and rose again. "The foolishness of God is Wiser than the wisdom of the wise of this world." Love to the point of folly for His Beloved that we may be a new creation cleansed in His blood. Therefore from now on we regard no one according to the flesh." "To this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe."

No one recognized Jesus in the resurrection until receiving Him as a stranger:
"Truly I say to you, in as much as you have done it to the least of these my brethren, you have done it to Me."
Jesus first appeared to Mary Magdalene who saw Him as the gardener, pleading with Him to care for His body and recognized Him as He called her by name. The two disciples on the road to Emmaus did not recognize Him in a long conversation with Him until after offering Him hospitality as a stranger: in the breaking of bread. "Where two or more are gathered in My name, there I Am in the midst of them." Seven other disciples resolved to go back fishing. “Simon Peter said to them, 'I go fishing.' They said to him, 'we also go with you.' They went forth and entered into a ship immediately and that night they caught nothing... and Jesus said to them: 'Cast the net on the right side of the ship and you will find.' They cast therefore, and now they were unable to draw it for the multitude of fishes." They recognized Him by the miracle after obeying His Word as a stranger: on the Right side. Like the day they were called as His disciples: laboring in vain all night until they obeyed His word. The only apparent difference, "The net did not break from the multitude of fishes." Jesus prayed for us to be in the unity of the Spirit, "That they all may be One; as You Father in Me, and I in You, that they also be one in Us: that the world may believe that You have sent Me."

Unconditional Love is the Power of the Holy Ghost to turn an enemy into a friend:
"A new command I give you: Love one another as I have loved you; as I have Loved you, so you must Love one another."
As we walk in the Spirit we no longer cause divisions, "Therefore if your enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink: for in so doing you shall heap coals of fire on his head." Giving our enemy what he needs convicts him of enmity towards God. "Now we are laborers in agreement with God, encouraging you to be reconciled to God." Those who obtain rest from dualistic thinking in knowledge of good and evil are no longer dominated by ego, "Let no one turn you away from the simplicity of Christ." No longer thinking in terms of I'm right and you’re wrong.
Praying in the Spirit is past what we think we know in understanding to be in agreement with God:
"Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication; to that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints."

Holiness is not achieved but received by the Holy Spirit:
"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be witnesses of Me in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth."
“When He the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all Truth: for He shall not speak of Himself, but what He shall hear, that shall He speak and He will show you things to come."
His Spirit guides us to find Jesus as the secret Ladder ascending to God along the road of solitude. To persevere and cease from ourselves is harsh in the beginning, seeming weary and never-ending in progress and as we learn not to lose sight of the Lord, becomes easy to find Him in everything. "Pay attention to how you hear. Everyone who does will be given more, but those who don't will lose the little they think they have." God is near when we acknowledge our poverty and need: He never forsakes us, we forsake Him and fall that we may learn to continually repent: to turn our will to His will. Leave all your cares in His hand and consent to the Cross all that is not of God until temptations lose their hold.

Those who choose to live by the Law will be judged by the Law. Sadly, they will fail and find themselves forever condemned.

Praise God for grace! The precious blood of Christ paid the price for our guilt under the Law.

you need to read and understand what I just sent you. That Jesus nulified the old covenant in His death. He also nulified the old creation that we are now. To be fulfilled in due time and it just so hapens that we are practically out of time, we are entering the final time of trouble. You seem to question wether Jesus is God manifested in the flesh and that unless He was God manifested in the flesh, would not nulify the old covenant in His death.

Such issues people make! I am asking an opinion to a question. Is THAT making an issue? No discussions allowed, only issues? We are supposed to be christian people here, who doesn't make issues yet here we are. If we can't be christian with a christian discussion, at least let us be civil.

I do not think that telling people not to judge is telling them not to worship. One, it seems to me, has little to do with the other. And personally, I do believe that when God writes in scripture that he is speaking to both Jews and gentiles that God means it. Scripture even states that God thinks of Jews and gentiles the same, and I don't think that means that God speaks to one group and asks the other not to listen in.

You would have quite an impossible task, this being righteous. That is what Christ does for those who asks Him to. But I know what you mean, Christ is in your heart and the Lord bless and keep you.

But you must listen to what the lord says in order to keep Him in your heart. It isn't a matter of simply standing in one spot, empty inside.

You started this thread with several assertions followed by questions. As your questions are based on your assertions, I asked you several questions regarding your assertions. I think it is both civil and Christian to ask questions, and to answer them. So, please answer my questions so that I can answer yours.

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Jesus took the physical ordinances of Israel out of the way nailing them to His cross for they were contrary to us because they had no bearing on spiritual salvation.

Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Eph 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God.

Also there is no laws for the Jews that is not for the Gentiles but they go by the same laws, and truth, which when a Gentile is saved they are a Jew and part of the commonwealth of Israel, but it is spiritual now.

If Gentiles do not have to heed something according to the Bible then the Jews do not either, and if the Jews have to go by certain things according to the Bible then so do the Gentiles.

For they are all the same now if they are in Christ, and there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile.
